Chapter 1

“ Welcome to Mystic restaurant. “ Beauty said all smiles as she attended to a customer. The lady stared at her from head to toe and she looked away. The first code of the restaurant was to take shit from anyone if you want to your job. Funny, right? That's the only way she could survive. The job was paying well but the customers were annoying but she had to put up with them everyday. There were some loving ones who managed to lift her day.

" Is she going to serve me? “ The lady asked her partner after checking her out.

" Of course. She's a waitress, that's her job. “ The man who accompanied her sent absentmindedly. It was obvious the lady didn't want Beauty to serve her.

" I'm sorry Ms, did I do something wrong?" Beauty asked.

“ You did everything wrong! Your presence here is suffocating!" The lady barked and Beauty gulped.

“ I'm sorry. I'll send for my partner. " She said and left for the kitchen. “ Hey Daniel could you attend to the customer on table four please?"

“ That's arrogant brat. No! Sandra should do it. " Daniel, her colleague said and she sighed.

“ Well Sandra's busy and she doesn't want me to attend to her which means you'll have to do it. “ Beauty said.

" Why wouldn't she want you? You're the best here. “

" Maybe I don't fit her standard. “ She said and left to attend to some customers who just entered. Working in Mystic restaurant was heart trenching. She had to put up with disgusted looks, flirtatious moves and insults from the customers so she could keep her job.

Beauty made sure she cleared her table for the day before leaving for her next job. She worked part time at a supermarket three streets from the restaurant whenever her shift was over. She used the money she got from the supermarket to provide clothing and other important stuff for herself and sister.

She was just beginning her shift when a couple came in. They looked beautiful together and she admired their closeness. If only she knew it was a facade.

“ Hi, how may I help you today?" She said smiling beautifully.

“ Do I look like I need your help?" The lady scoffed. Great, another arrogant lady!

Won't this day get any better?!

“ I'm sorry ma'am. " She said apologetically.

“ Oh honey. Let's go check out those cupcakes at the end. It would look lovely for dinner tonight. " The lady said pulling the man along but the man didn't budge.

“ You came here on your wish. Buy what you want and meet me in the car. I'm already suffocated enough. " The man said disgustedly and left. Beauty couldn't get a clear view of his face, but she could tell he was 6'feet tall and he had a slightly muscular stature.

“ Tch. Not like I needed your help. " The lady scoffed. Beauty tried to hold in her laughter but she was caught by the lady. “ Do you need my help now?" Beauty asked innocently.

" Get lost. “ The lady said and marched out of the supermarket.

" We have tons of people like that coming in this days. “ The assistant manager, Cara said and she laughed.

“ I was thinking they were a perfect couple the first time. "

“ Arranged marriages. It's the either the guy doesn't want it or the lady doesn't. These rich folks force their children inot loveless marriages just to remain rich. " She said and left for her office.

“ Hey Beauty could you help me with the rest of the boxes outside?" Her colleague, Elijah asked and she nodded.

“ You're quite early with the delivery this week." She said when they had taken all the boxes in.

“ Yeah. The delivery came in earlier than expected. How was work at the restaurant today?" Elijah asked and she frowned. “ I guess it was horrible." She told what happened with the lady at the restaurant and he laughed.

“ Very. " She scoffed. “ I don't know why those with money think they're better than us. You should have seen the lady, she wasn't even half of my beauty yet she looked down on me. “

" Because she's rich. I know one day we'll both be, we just have to endure it for now and take what ever shit they give us. “ Elijah said and she chuckled.

“ I know. "

“ How's Elsa?"

“ She's great. She told me she's in San Francisco working on a project. I'm sure she'll be done next year. "

“ I'm so proud. You're a great sister, you know that?"

“ No. "

“ You are. " He said and hugged her. “ Sometimes I wished you were my sister. " He said and she chuckled.

“ I'm still your best friend." She winked.

“ I know. "

Mason Alaric, he's considered the most handsome billionaire but he always kept his identity a secret from the public. Many have only seen his side or his backside. He was no interested in public attention. He was mostly cold and he only talked to mother and younger brother.

He had forcefully gone to the supermarket with the lady his father wanted him to marry. When he saw how she was talking to the attendant, he got angry and left. He wanted to wait for her but he drove off while she called his name. His mind went back to the attendant, she was a beauty, a very natural one.

He was smitten by her beauty at first that's why he didn't say a word when Celeste was being arrogant. He wouldn't know what to say. Was that beauty? No lady has ever caught his eye, maybe it was because they were throwing themselves at him but she caught his eye the minute he saw her. She had everything he wanted in a woman. Deep blue sapphire eyes, Chestnut brown hair, 5'2 tall, reddish lips, normal body size, caramel skin and a nice round figure. He wished he could see her again. Maybe he would go back to the supermarket alone some day.

“ What the hell did you do Mason? You left Celeste at the supermarket?" His brother Ryan asked when he entered the house.

“ She was getting on my nerves. “ Mason said irritatedly.

“ Dad's so pissed off right now. "

“ Well next time he should match me with someone better. “ Mason said and marched upstairs in anger.

“ Where's that ungrateful son of mine?" Mr Alaric asked as he barged into the living room.

“ He's not yet home. “ Ryan lied.

“ He humiliated me and he has the audacity to stay away. I'll be waiting for him. We'll be meeting tonight. " Mr Alaric said in anger as he went upstairs.

“ Better tell your brother not to come down. " Their mother, Rose said.

“ He won't. He's probably exhausted. " Ryan shrugged. “ Tell your husband to stop enforcing his wishes on us. We have our own lives too. “ He said as he went upstairs. He secretly slipped into Mason's room and found him on his laptop.

" Are you gonna bury yourself in work alone? “ Ryan asked and he shrugged.

" That's the only thing that keeps me insane. “ Mason said.

" You need to rest. Live the life. “

" With Celeste. She's a walking disaster. "

“ I'm not talking about Celeste. You need to love again. " He said and Mason sighed as he closed the laptop.

“ You know I can't. I try to but it's just hard not after what happened the last time. " He said and Ryan hugged him.

“ You'll get over her when you find the right person. " He said and Mason smiled secretly.

“ I think I might have found someone. “ He said an Ryan beamed excitedly.

" Really? Who's she? “

" I don't know who she is. I saw her at the supermarket today. I think she works there. “

" Oh. Do you like her? “

" She's a good person, I think. She didn't talk back at Celeste when she performed her disastrous characters. “ He said. " She seemed reserved and pretty. “

" Oooh. Pretty. Look I don't care if she's not our class. If she'll make you happy, go for her. " Ryan said.

" I don't even know her name. “

" That's what being a billionaire's for. You can get her profile from the manager. “ Ryan said and he nodded.

" Right. I need to shower. “

" I'll be in my room. “ Ryan said and left.

" Hey, you're back. " Elsa said and hugged her immediately she walked in. She looked at her hand expectantly and she shook her head.

“ I couldn't get an extra shift, so we'll have to mange the left over hamburger from last night. " Beauty said sadly and Elsa pouted.

“ You're the best sister. I'm sure you tried your best. “ She smiled.

“ I know but I wish I tried harder. "

“ You've done more than enough sister. You've been a mother, sister and friend. You're more than enough. " Elsa said and hugged her.

“ Thank you Elsa. " She said and hugged her tightly.

“ No thank you. I have good news by the way. " She smiled when she broke the hug and they sat on the only sofa in the room.

“ What is it? " She asked staring at her and she gasoed. “ What? You got in?" She asked and Elsa smiled.

“ Yes, I got in. I got into Berkeley. “ She said excited and Beauty screamed.

“ Oh my God! This is good news. You deserve this. " Beauty said and hugged her. “ I'll just repay........"

“ Sister, you don't have to worry about the money. "

“ What do you mean? You need money to go to school."

“ I know but it's all settled. " She said and Beauty stared at her confused. " I was awarded a full scholarship to study any course of choice. I wanted to get it before I tell you. I applied last summer. “She said and Beauty gasped.

“ You mean it?"

“ Yeah, everything's covered. The house, fees, books, everything. You don't have to worry about that. We can finally pay back all the loans without thinking about my fees. We'll finally be free. " Elsa said excited and Beauty hugged her tightly. “ I'm so proud of you. " She said as she cried on her shoulders.

“ I'm really proud. " She smiled.

“ I'll be going the day after tomorrow, so I'll help you out with work tomorrow. "

“ But you just came back from a trip....."

“ I know. I have to work hard, I have to make you and our parents proud. " She said and Beauty smiled.

“ Elijah's gonna be happy to see you tomorrow. He thinks you're still in San Francisco. “ She said and Elsa chuckled.

" I miss him too. There's one thing. “

" What is it? “

" We need to spend some time out tomorrow. So no using your after shifts for something else tomorrow. I need a makeover and new outfits. “

" I'll do anything for you. " Beauty said and she smiled.

" You need new clothes too. How about this? You get me some, I'll get you few. “ Elsa said and she chuckled.

" Few? “

" Yeah... That's what I can afford. “ Elsa said and made a funny face. " Okay baby. I need to take my evening shower. “ She stood up and wiggled her ass out of the room. Elsa was a replica of Beauty, same eyes, almost same height, Beauty was a bit taller than she is, same shape of face. The only difference between them was their hair. Elsa had strawberry blonde hair while Beauty had chestnut brown hair and Beauty was more thicker than Elsa.

Beauty took a shower after Elsa was done and they both sat to devour the leftover hamburger. It was better than sleeping with an empty stomach.

“ I'm so full. Thanks big sis. Now I can sleep with strength. " Elsa teased and she chuckled.

“ Yeah me too. Have you told your friends yet? “ She asked and her face fell.

“ I wanted to but then I thought I could call them when I get to California. "

“ Why would you do that? They're your friends. "

“ I know, I just didn't want them......"

“ You don't want to say goodbye. Well it's not goodbye, it's see you later. “ Beauty said and she smiled.

" I'll tell them tonight. “

" What about Shawn? “ Beauty asked and she glared at her. " I know you guys are not on good terms right now but it's okay if you tell him. “ Beauty said and she sighed.

" I'll think about it. “ She faked a smile.

" Her mother's daughter. “ Beauty teased and she laughed.

" Her father's daughter. “ Elsa winked.
