Crap, crap, crap!
This is bad. This is really bad.“Jen Davis, you are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent, and everything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law.” A huge officer says as he walks towards me carefully.I watch him, and I can see fear dancing in his eyes.“Aww, are you afraid of a girl?” I ask loudly, and the officer scoffs.“Shut up.” He says rudely when he reaches me.He grabs my hands and turns me around. He then place on me a cold metal handcuff.Due to the uncomfortable position my hands are in, I clench my jaw, trying to mask the pain I’m feeling in my wrists.“Wait.” Robert says. Why do I keep calling him by his actual name?My eyes dart to him, and I can see that he’s staring back at me.“Where is your boss?” He asks the officer next to him. There are almost ten officers in this room, and though I am already apprehended, they all still seem to be on their guard. They have their weapons pointed at me, incase I try to escape. And I don’t blame them, I have evaded them too many times to count. It’s easy for me.A bulky man walks into the room, and the officers make room for him.I know him. He’s the Lieutenant. In fact, everyone knows him. He’s always on the news.“Robert..” He says as he walks up to the CEO and shakes his hands. He also has a huge smile on his face, and I don’t blame him.If I have just found someone that I have been looking for for years, I’d be smiling too.“You were right...she came.” The CEO says as he stares at me.“Of course! I knew she would be back, considering me and my guys didn’t find your dead body. She always finishes her job.” The lieutenant says, and then chuckles.“Isn’t that right, Jen?” He asks as he walks closer to me.“It took forever to get you, but now look at you. You are in my hands.” He says, his voice filled with excitement.“Take her away.” He says loudly to the officer, and he begins to push me forcibly towards the exit of the room.“Lieutenant, wait.” Robert says, and everyone stares at him, including me.“Let her go.” He says, earning a chuckle from me and a few officers.“This guy must be nuts.” One of the officers says lowly, and they all laugh, including the lieutenant.“Robert, I don’t have time for jokes, boy. I have to process this young lady and share the good news with the press as soon as possible.” He says proudly.“Can we talk?” He asks the lieutenant.“Talk about what?” He asks.“Sir, I believe you would like my signature to be on that grant offer my company made a few weeks ago to the police department.” Robert says with a small smile. He’s using his CEO skills, that I can respect.I know about the offer. It’s a very hefty donation from the CEO’s company, but it was not processed because Robert didn’t sign.Robert said that he was not informed about the grant decision by his company sooner, so he was not going to sign it.The lieutenant has been appealing to him, but he said he wasn’t doing it.The lieutenant clears his throat.“Um, boys, wait for me outside, will you?” He says to the officers and they leave.“Not you though.” He points to the officer holding me sternly.Everyone begins to leave, and soon, the room is close to empty.“What do you want?” The lieutenant asks Robert.Robert smirks as he runs his hands through his hair.“I want you to let her go.” He says. The lieutenant head tilts in confusion.“Why are you doing this? She’s a criminal!” He says, clearly annoyed.I watch them both in fascination. Are they seriously having a conversation about me being released. Doesn’t Robert know that I would kill him when I get the slightest chance.“I don’t care, I want her free.” He says back without fear.“Then she would just end up killing you. Do you want that, Robert?” The lieutenant says. The CEO stays quiet for a few seconds.“Sign the grant offer, Robert. The company and I regrets that you weren’t inform about it much sooner.” The lieutenant explains.“The department really needs it.” He adds.“You there.” Robert says as he points to me.I instinctively look around me to see whether he’s pointing at another person, but it’s me.“Would you kill me if I help you get free?” He asks me, and I grin.“Robert, she will! She’s a freaking assassin! She doesn’t care about you!” The lieutenant says loudly.“Lieutenant, I am not speaking to you.” Robert says in a warning tone. The lieutenant cusses under his breath.“I want to let you go.” Robert says to me.He walks tentatively to me as he speaks.“But I need you to promise me something.” He adds.“Why do you want me free?” I ask Robert, and he looks taken aback.“That’s a very good question.” He responds. He looks ridiculous, considering that he’s only wearing boxer briefs, and is shirtless while trying to have a sane conversation with me.“And it deserves a very good answer.” I say, my voice coming out soft.“I don’t have a perfect answer for you. But all I can say is that you’re special, Jen.” He says.I chuckle lowly at his response.Special? That’s why he doesn’t want me to rot in prison? Because I’m special? That’s a load of bull.“And it’s not just about sex.” He adds.“I want to be with you, Jen.” He says with a small smile, and for a brief moment, I picture him waiting for me as I walk down the aisle to meet him.I picture us laying in bed and spending hours talking about anything that falls in our heads. For a brief moment, I imagine a world where I can be with this man.And the most scary part about all this is that, I think I actually like him.And it’s something that I will never forgive myself for. This is literally the first time I have felt this way. Ever since my parents were killed, I swore to myself that I would never love again. It was hard, because I don’t think anyone can just shut down their emotions. But it became easy eventually. Each time the images of my parents dying before my very eyes flashed in my mind, I remembered that it was that day that my heart died. That particular day, Jennifer died, and Jen was born.Jen was what my father called me. It was his nickname for me, and I loved it so much.“Close your eyes, baby. Close them tight.” Were his last words to me.My parents were killed by my father’s best friend. He had no family of his own, and I think he was abused in his past.He was a very nice man. A very nice man until that day. That day would always remained in my mind. I remember everything as if it was yesterday. His name was Harrison Von. He was always at our house. He came to every dinner and birthday party. He was like an
Later that evening, he was arrested.A neighbor reported him to the police. It was Mrs. Jacobs and her husband. They were supposed to come for dinner that evening at our house. But instead of walking into a dinner scenery, they walked into a murder scene.Mr. Jacobs apprehended Harrison, and to my surprise, he didn’t fight back.He only stared at me, and I will never forget the look on his face. He looked pleased. After Harrison was taken away and our house made into a crime scene. I had to stay with Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs.I didn’t really have any family except my parents. I am an only child, and my grandparents are dead.My mother was an only child also, and my father had two brothers. One of them lives in New York, and doesn’t even know I exist. The other one is a drug addict, and recently he was admitted at a rehabilitation center.I couldn’t keep living with Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs. They had a house full of family, and were running low on money. So event
I walk towards where I dropped my dagger when the police stormed in, and I pick it up and tugs it in my leather jacket.I should kill him, that is what I was paid to do. And it’s not only about the money, it is my reputation on the line. But I also don’t want any client thinking that they can control me just because they hired me, used a disguised voice, and made stupid threats.I fear nothing, and especially, no one.“Do you want me to?” I ask him and he gulps.“Well, if you’re talking about murder in the bed department..” He says with a grin as he scans my body.“Oh my gosh.” I say as I shake my head while smiling.“You are unbelievable.” I say with a small smile as I watch him.A few seconds pass between us as we both look at each other.“I like it when you smile.” He says to me, and a weird feeling covers my chest.I don’t know how to describe it, but I like it.I clear my throat loudly and I begin to walk towards the room’s window.“I am not
He then closes the tiny distance between us, causing his uncovered skin to blanket me.He starts to plant kisses on my neck, causing me to moan from pleasure.“Stop.” I say breathlessly to him, even though I don’t want him to.His rough calloused hands holds the back of my neck as he moves up to my ear with his trail of kisses.Soon his mouth hovers inches over my ear, almost causing my knees to buckle from my emotions.“You should worship me.” He whispers, as the heat of his breath caresses my ear.My voice betrays me as my emotions go wild. Words fail to fall from my lips as feelings I never knew I could feel envelops me.At that moment, I knew that I was never getting free from his ungodly touch. What have I gotten myself in?A knock on the door startles me exactly when Robert squeezes my bosom. We both withdraw from each other quickly.I forgot, the door was left open. At the door stands one of Robert’s guards. When Robert’s eyes lands on
As I begin to awake, my eyes flutters open. My vision is still blurred, but I can tell that my hands are bound by something strong. Could be rope, but it’s so tight. My vision finally clears, and I realize that I am in the back of a vehicle. It looks like it’s a van. When I try to move my legs, I notice that my ankles are also bound. I look down at them, and I see that it’s a thick rope that coils around them.I try to sit down, but the vehicle is moving and makes it hard to do so. No one is here with me. I’m alone, and for a moment fear begins to creep in my heart, but I quickly shut it out.I have been kidnapped, but by who?I swear if Robert has anything to do with this, I will make it my life mission to skin him alive.“Hey, I think she’s awake.” I hear someone say, but when I look around, I see no one.“Let me see.” I hear another voice. My eyes finally lands on a small camera at the corner of the ceiling of the van. It looks like it’s motion det
It’s not Robert Jones or anyone of his guards; nor is it Victor Sans.“I know, right?” He stands up from his chair and begins to walk towards me.“But this can’t be possible, how?” I say more to myself then to anyone. As he gets closer to me, I try to walk backwards, but because my legs are still bound by the rope, I fall backwards onto my butt.“Oh, be careful dear.” The man says.“Tommy, get her loosed, she’s hurting.” The man says to his minion.“But boss, she could literally beat the crap out of us all here, and escape...she’s a professional assassin.” He replies his boss, which causes his boss to frown.“Tommy, now.” He says, his voice sounding authoritative.Tommy walks towards me, but I keep staring at the man. He looks just like my father that it’s scary. When Tommy reaches me, he carefully begins to untie the rope on my hands and ankles. As I look at the man, hot tears begins to escape my eyes without my permission. Seeing him after all these y
“Exactly.” He says and I smile weakly.“So...would you like to have dinner tomorrow night?” He asks hopefully, causing me to scoff.“You know what? I will think about it.” I say and he looks deeply pleased by my answer. He then walks towards his desk and sits back in the huge black spinning chair. He lets out a satisfied sigh, and then looks at me.“I also don’t want you going after Victor.” He says, and my eyes bulge slightly.Who told him about Victor Sans?“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I lie smoothly.“Mmhmm.” He says with a knowing smile.“Victor Sans has a target on your back, you clearly pissed the man off.” My uncle says, and it takes a few seconds for me to process what he has just said.A target on my back?Oh, boy. This is wonderful news!Victor just made this game more fun.“And what did I do?” I ask, pretending still to be innocent.“Victor didn’t say, but almost every assassin out there is out to get you. I’d reckon you
“Robert, slow down!” I yell and he joins the other cars on the right lane.“You’re going to kill us!” I say loudly as a laugh escapes my lips. The traffic is a bit free and he uses that to his advantage.“Whooo!” He yells excitingly as he continues to increase the speed of the SUV.Soon we are on the freeway, and there are less cars, which gives Robert more confidence to speed up.He glances at me for a quick moment, and I catch a glimpse of how carefree he looks. When his eyes meet mine for that quick second, my heart skips a beat. Somebody help me, I’m falling for this man.The car begins to slow down a bit, and the wind flowing through the windows are incredibly strong.I chose a bad day to let my hair down. Now it’s flying all over the place.“Where are you taking me?” I ask him once the car has reached a moderate speed.“Where else? At my house.” He says without looking at me. A smile plays on his lips, and I can’t stop staring at how pink the
