Chapter 3 – Meeting him

"Schina’s POV"

When I opened my eyes, I saw a white ceiling on top. I moved my eyes along the area and looked around, wondering where I was.

I became aware that I was lying on the bed. On my right, there was a white curtain that hung up and enveloped me, and on my left, it was a chilly wall painted in white.

I sat on the bed and drew the curtain, exposing the nurses and other ill students. Now, I realized that I was in my most hated place - the infirmary. I have never been here in my years of studying on our campus, in fact, it was my first time being here.

I never wanted to visit this place even if I catch a cold but how did I get in here? I tried to remember what happened just now and as far as I remember, I was talking to Fabian. Does it mean that he brought me here? I felt my face become hot as I search him around.

"Ms. Mallari, you're awake. How do you feel right now?" the nurse drew my attention. It was Ms. Evelyn Pascua, the school nurse.

I stroked my head, "I'm a little dizzy," I replied and still feels the agony crushing my brain.

"Lie down and relax till the ache goes away," she suggested.

"I'm OK, Ms. Pascua. I immediately recalled that I had some tasks to complete." I raced out of the clinic and ran because I knew she wouldn't let me escape until I feel better. The school nurse, Ms. Pascua is my auntie. She really cares for me but sometimes I feel that she's caring for me too much.

As I escaped from her, I realized that some of my schoolmates are chasing me, "Ms. Pascua probably instructed people to take me back there. No, I am not going back there."

I noticed Aicko chatting to a man from a distance, so I went fast to her and grabbed her hand without looking at her. "Thank you. I don't want to stay in the clinic. Please assist me with this, please?" I pleaded with her.

I hid in a corner of the building and covered her in front of me so they couldn't see me. My gaze was fixed on the ground as I realized who I was pulling wasn't Aicko. "Oh my goodness! Is he really a man?" I muttered something as I raised my gaze at him and was surprised to see a figure of a man.

He turned around and said, "If I’m not a man, then what do you think I am?" I covered my mouth in shame as I studied his physique. He doesn’t look like a student anymore. He is wearing a turtle neck gray thick knitted long sleeve shirt, pants, and a pair of black sneakers. I noticed that he was wearing the latest gold Rolex watch. I’m sure he is not that simple man, even if he wears simple clothing. I might be wrong, his clothing might be expensive too.

He stands 162 cm tall, with warm skin, an oval-shaped face, brown upturned eyes that complement his upward eyebrows, a beautiful straight nose, and a seductive thick upper lip. I believe he would stand out among guys whether he didn't smile most often, but I assume his terrible temper scared the woman away, and he is now scowling at me.

I grin at him, unsure what to do next. I bite my lower lip while I searched for an explanation. "I... I'm sorry, sir, I mistook you for my—"

"Your boyfriend?"

What?? He rebutted me and expected me to say that I mistook him for my boyfriend. He is really cunning, even he is attractive, I don't believe that I might like him. "Look, Mister." I scanned him again before finding my line. "My future boyfriend is more handsome than you," I bragged.

"Then why did you abduct me?" He casually asked.

My jaw dropped when he said that. "What exactly is going on? I'm not going to kidnap you!!" I had an argument with him. Aicko approached us to speak with us.

"What's the matter with you, Schina? Why did you bring my cousin with you?" She seems confused at us.

"Is he your cousin?!" I exclaimed in surprise.

"Have you guys met before and become secret lovers? Is that your reason why you avoided Fabian earlier?" Oh. Here we go again, she's starting to interrogate me.

I can't believe she's already plotting a concept. I have no doubt that she will become a writer and produce a large number of books as a result of her out-of-this-world thoughts.

"I'm not interested in him, and I don't know who he is," I said, folding my arms across my chest.

"However, why did you take him away?" She is still waiting for an answer from me.

"It's just a misunderstanding, okay?" I replied.

"What kind of misunderstanding? I don’t get it," Aicko uttered.

My vision became dim while my head was aching. I tried to blink my eyes many times, but their image was getting blurry to my vision. I feel like the world is shaking and swaying my body. "Is there an earthquake? I‘m quite dizzy."

"Are you sick, Schina?" I heard my best friend inquired.

"No. I'm not, but I'm—"

My eyelids are getting heavier and slowly shutting as I feel my body is collapsing. I can sense a sudden force that seems like it's about to shatter my head.

"Aicko's POV"

I was really worried when my friend fainted Fortunately, my cousin is here to catch her or else she would have fallen to the ground.

"Where is the infirmary?" Axel asked me as he carried my best friend in his arms.

"Axel, let’s take her to the nearest hospital. She doesn’t like staying at the clinic," I pulled him in his car, opened the door of his vehicle, and helped him bring her inside.

He rode in the driver's seat and drove the car while I was in the back with Schina. I was trying to wake her up while on our way to the hospital, but she was not even opening her eyes.

"Schina!! Schina! Wake up! What’s happening to you? " I worriedly tried to wake her up.

"Quit waking her up, she’s just... sleeping," Axel commented.

I raised my head in the rearview mirror as he was looking at us, "how did you know?"

"It’s based on my observation," he casually replied. I am confused about that.

"Can you explain it to me further?" I inquired.

"Believe me, I am telling the truth," he responded as he continued driving the car.

"If you know that she’s only sleeping, then where are you taking us?" I added.

He did not respond to my question. I didn’t force him to tell me so. Axel is my cousin. He studied at Harvard University for years. I heard he's a businessman but I am not familiar with it since we are not that close, he just passes by the school for a business and unintentionally runs into one another. I just heard that he has a company and I didn’t dare ask him about it because he is distant from many people, even though I am his family member. He is usually quiet, snobby, and aloof to everyone, but I don’t think that way because he helps me whenever I need him, just like today.

Axel stops and parks the car in the park. What’s happening? Why did he park here? He steps out of the car and walks. Where is he going?

A few minutes later, I saw him knocking on the window. I opened it and was surprised when he gave me ice cream. I smiled at him. I didn’t know that he was gentle, though he’s usually weird. "Thank you," I told him as I accepted it. “I’m sorry if we disturbed you today,” I sincerely apologize to him.

“No problem,” he replied, I noticed that he’s been looking at his phone so I was really ashamed of him. I think he has an important appointment to do.

"Brother, I am really ashamed of you but can you take care of her for a bit once I am back I will wake her up so you can leave? I need to go to the comfort room, please?" I assure, and I hurriedly left before he could answer.

I washed my hands in the bathroom and came out. I was strolling nearby when I spotted them inside the car, Schina was cupping my cousin's face as if she were about to kiss him.

I dashed through them, "what exactly are you doing, Schina?!!"
