His Undesirable Wife

I felt like the sky opened and the birds were flying towards near us, chirping, singing to us on the day of our wedding.

I was wearing a wonderful smile that a billion-dollar can't buy. I would finally marry the man of my life, the one I loved. I was only a high schooler, an 18 years old, but I'm going to get married to my beloved Liam, he was 8 years older than me, but age doesn't matter, right? It was only just a number.

Well, only a few people gathered in the church, just my family and relatives and Liam's. It was a secret marriage in a meantime, it would be announced on my graduation day. It was Liam's favor not to make it public until I finished my studies. As if I didn't know his motives.

The music started to play as I entered the entrance of the church, everyone was standing, watching me stepped forward. I couldn't forget how happy I was as I glanced at their faces, but my smile altered instantly the moment I looked at my groom in the front. 

Anguish corrupted my heart and soul, I forgot what I really felt about our wedding, yeah, I remember now... I remember the grief that was planted inside of me.

The music continued to play as it sang with my screaming cries within me. My heart was twisting, it felt like it would come out through my body. I couldn't breathe.

I walked slowly and people around me were cheering me up, while me, I never looked away from my groom.

His face was becoming more serious and serious when I was coming closer to him. I swallowed and just wanted to run away, but of course, I couldn't. Maybe there was still a chance to fix this unhappy marriage.

Maybe in the future, he would learn to love me. That's was what I'm aiming for. But if he didn't? That what was I'm afraid of.

I was standing in front of him, watching his face frowned secretly, and I had nothing to do but accept the fact that I was going to marry him, whether I like it or not, and our circumstance was mutual, even if we tried to disagree about this marriage, we had no option. It was already fixed.

We said our vows.

"I will love you forever," that was my last words, every word that I said was true, I meant it. 

 "You may now kiss the bride," the priest announced, and my heart was pounding really hard.

I swallowed as I faced him.

He looked at me with an empty glance as he removed what was covering my face. That hurts.

"Is he going to kiss me? Of course, he won't, what am I expecting?" I thought and tried to face the crowd for them not to inspect Liam because I knew he won't kiss me, that's why I should be the first one to face the crowd, I still wanted to protect him, it's okay for me if they judge me, I couldn't bear to see my parents hate my husband just because of not kissing me on the day of our wedding. But then I was wrong, before I could face them his hands held my arm and the next thing I knew was his lips touched mine and then I saw heaven.

He was still kissing me and I saw him closed his eyes? 

"Is this kiss real?" I thought... "If it is, I'm glad," my mind added and I slowly closed my eyes and about to kissed him back but he paused, but then he just let me kissed him.

"I know Liam, I took advantage of you today, just let me, for I know this won't happen again." 

"I love you," whispered my mind.

I smiled but at the same time I teared up with both happiness and grief, for I know he was kissing me today for an act, it was fake and not love, yet I loved it, tears continued to shed from my eyes as I continued to felt his kiss.

"I love you, Liam, could we stay just like this," my heart spoke as I closed my eyes. Every inch of me will never forget this first kiss.

And when he already break the kiss, I could hear the crowd shouting, greeting us, congratulations. And I opened my eyes and glanced at him, he faced the crowd, and he wore that empty face, as usual.

How I wished I could see his smiles again, yeah, how I wish!
