Abigail's pov

“I announce to you today the Alpha of Lion heart's pack. The first female Alpha in the history of Alphas. She has shown resilience, strength and… “

As my father's voice faded into the background, along with the cheering noise from the crowd who had all gathered to witness my coronation, I got up, a huge smile on my face.

This was it. This was the moment I had waited for all my life. I had worked hard for this. All those years, I had given away my teens to working, training and learning skills just to ensure that today would be my day. The day I was crowned for my efforts.

Many times I had given up, gotten tired, wanted to quit, especially seeing as my mates went partying, skipped school and training just to have fun anr I kept opting for more classes and putting my time into training. I worked twice as hard just to meet up with my father's expectation because as perfect as I may sound, I didn't have a wolf.

By the age of eleven when my mates began shifting and transforming into their wolf form, I was barely even latent. This, I trained twice as hard because in battles, I had to rely on my supernatural strength.

My father's voice was still making announcements in the distance but he was yet to finally call my name. The crowd was going wild, all beams and smiles. Mist of them knew I deserved it.

I spotted my step sister, Jedidiah seated across from me next to my step mother, Luna Jessica. Although they tried to hide it, I could see the disappointment and anger in their eyes, seething as they glared hard at me.

They had no right to be angry. Jedidiah had no right especially. She knew- even she knew that while she was out partying, hooking up with every guy she came across and skipping school and training, I worked my ass off for this.

“I'm so happy for you babe. My mate is going to be the first Alpha ever crowned in the history of Alphas. I'm so proud of you.” The depleting smile on my face suddenly broadened again when I felt my mate, James hug me from behind, planting a kiss at the side of my neck.

He was the head pack guard of the pack, and realizing we were mates, I had felt unconfident that he wouldn't accept me because I had no wolf but he had accepted me and even loved me more than I had ever done to myself. I loved him and couldn't wait for us to be officially together.

Hearing him sound so proud of me, I felt emotional but I held back my tears, not wanting to cry. I couldn't show weak emotion Infront of the people I would soon be ruling.

“She has made us proud and today she will make history. Her name is Jedidiah Aaro. Come up to the throne and receive your crown my daughter.”

There was a sudden hush in the entire hall. For a second, even I thought I had heard wrong and just stood rooted to my spot, a frown etched in my face, my brows furrowed.

Jedidiah?

Someone suddenly pushed past me and I almost fell If I hadn't stood my ground, only for me to watch as Jedidiah cat walked towards the throne. Her outfit, unlike the suit I had worn was a skimpy revealing gown with pink stiletto heels. She sat down proudly on the throne and right before my very eyes, my father lifted the crown- MY crown and placed it right on her head.

The crowd resumed cheering, but this time it wasn't as cheerful and loud as it was before. Infact, it felt like they were being forced to give the mandatory standing ovation.

I was still rooted to my spot, hoping and believing everything was a dream, but it wasn't. My step sister, Jedidiah was sitting on the throne, wearing the crown. Alpha Jedidiah? What a joke.

“Abigail what's going on?” I could note the edge in James voice as he approached me, not a single glint of smile or happiness on his face.

“I don't know, but I'm about to find out…” I raced to the throne without a word, already fuming and shaking in anger when two pack guards barred my way.

“Sorry, but you are not allowed close to the Alpha without her consent or permission “ one stated and I just stood there, angry and baffled.

“Excuse me? Alpha? What rights does she have to rule when she doesn't know the first thing about taking responsibility.” I yell, furiously glaring at her. She couldn't be any less bothered.

“Let her through. Now.” James's voice came from behind me and the two men reluctantly parted ways before I rushed up, only to be met with my father's cold stare.

His eyes were blood red as he surveyed me like a stranger, a growl leaving his snarling lips when I moved further ahead, like he was challenging me to make a move on him.

Tears finally clouded my vision, but I quickly blinked them away. “Father this has to be a joke. Right? You can't be serious about making her the Alpha. Jedidiah deserves nothing!”

“Abigail I understand what you must be going through right now, but it still stands that you won't have a wolf, and I can't let someone like you lead a whole pack of so many generations. You're not capable.”

“Someone like me? Is this what it's been about all along. Then why didn't you tell me? Why did you lead me on, making me believe that I had a chance.”

“You never had a chance Abigail. I would rather bite my own tongue to death than make you Alpha. You are the one not deserving of anything. You are an abomination. Your sister shifted at the tender age of 8. By 10, she already had a full fledged wolf. You can barely even half shift and you think you can rule a pack?”

“Is that really all it takes to rule a pack?” I laugh mockingly, although my heart felt heavy. I didn't wait for a reply before I left the hall, feeling so embarrassed as everyone's eyes were on me. I pushed past James, catching sight of the cruel evil smirk in my stepmother's face as I exited the hall.

By the time I got to my room, I finally let all the tears I had been holding in. My heart felt so heavy and clenched so right it hurt, yet the tears kept falling one after the other.

All my efforts, everything I had done till this day had gone to waste. Just like that.

it was late at night when I finally decided to look for James. I wanted us to run away together. I had no purpose staying in a pack where even my own family was capable of betraying me. I knew it wouldn't be hard convincing him to run away with me, since he loved me, but I would feel bad that he'd have to leave everything behind, including his position as head of the pack warriors. The moment I approached his room at the quarters, I couldn't explain why I had this tight feeling in my chest, like I was about to witness something that would shatter me. I could feel something wrong with our mate bond, and my heart raced. I hope nothing had happened to James. Worried, scared, I pushed the door to his room, only to be greeted by James, my mate, the love of my life, fucking another girl in his bed. The bed creaked and their moans synced as he thrust hard and fast into her, a thin film of sweat covering his naked back. And that girl was no other than my step sister, Jedidiah. I staggered

“What's going on?” I approached them. I could feel goosebumps riding across my arm as I did. Something was not right, but I couldn't place my finger exactly where it didn't. My father had a deep rooted blank stare in his eyes as he silently pushed a scroll towards me without a word. I reluctantly took it and after a few seconds of reading the contents, I heard my own heart plumet down; completely down my chest. I felt all the blood in my face drain as I read the contract papers over and over again in my head until I grew sick with fear and disgust. The words seemed to blur before my eyes as my mind struggled to process the magnitude of what I had just read, my thoughts racing. "No." Mustering all the willpower in me, I faced the Alpha, his Luna and the elder council as I said, not even flinching under their hard, cold glares. "I'm not doing It.”“Father you can't do this to me!” “It's already been signed. This was agreed upon by I and the council of elders long ago, even before to

Daniel's pov She looked scared. I wasn't surprised. I basked off the fear of people around me. I had seen women more beautiful than her, but there was something about her eyes. She looked scared certainly, but there was this resilience in them that matched mine when we locked eyes. As she slowly stripped, hands shaky, a slight blush to her cheeks, I checked out the woman Infront of me. She had full blossoms with peach nipples poking out subtly. Her hips were broad, emerging from a narrowed sensual waist leading down to two strong, straight legs. The moment she was done and her eyes met mine again, I calmly approached her. Not once did she back away from me. Instead she stood her ground, awaiting me. The fear was inevitable but she was trying her best not to let me smell it over her. My wolf growled In approval the moment I touched her, my hand sliding to cup her face just before my eyes met mine, like I was searching.. She's the one. My wolf growled.I could see the confusion in

Abigail's pov Racing into the nearest room I could find, I fell into a sitting position against the corner of the wall with tears in my eyes. With a heavy heart laden with pain and shame, I buried my face in my hands as I let out the tears which flowed down my cheeks. I was still shaking from the aftermath of his touch, his hands touching in places I haven't been touched before, his lips on my naked skin, his cock brushing against my forbidden area. James and I have been mates for three years but we have only gone as far as kissing. I had been stern about wanting to keep myself till after we officially became mates. Even though he had betrayed me, I still felt so guilty at how I was able to easily respond to the touch of another man. And that man had to be the Lycan himself. His voice, when he mentioned my name sent reverberated chills up my spine. My pussy still ached for his touch, still dripping from the lust. I yearned for him. I couldn't explain why I wanted that beast. But

Funnily enough, it wasn't as if I was thinking about her or had any good plans for her.Her lips quivered while my Beta coughed softly. "I was just telling her her role, sir." He replies fearfully. I didn't wait till he completed his words before growling. They didn't have the right to discuss about me behind my back, if they did, it was certainly because they were trying to stir up strife that would surely backfire on them."Alpha, why don't I go check out the workers at the mine?" Abigail's POVThere was nothing that prepared me for the way the women were shouting when Daniel returned into the pack. I knew because I peeped from the window and saw most of them even going as far as dancing, making me irritated by their display. Why were they so happy that this tyrant was dragging a man into the pack like a bag of potatoes? This wasn't what was supposed to happen, yet they were this happy? This was very strange and I wasn't even jealous of them one bit. It was mostly irritating to me. I would have preferred if there was something else that they celebrated. It seemed the people were also as ruthless as their Alpha because the joy was second to none. Now I saw the reason people told their kids horrific stories so that they didn't stumble on this place. There was a rap at the door and I moved back to my former position. If I was planning so hard to escape this hellhole, then I had to also be ready to make the sacrifices that it required, which was acting like a fool

Abigail's POV. "Look how far we've come, from beginning a family to planning everything as they are. It's been wonderful," Daniel spoke as he walked through the porch. "Is this what I think it is?" I inquired. He hugged me from behind and planted a kiss on my neck. "We've been able to conquer every opposition on our way, and that makes it very worthwhile. When last did you speak to your pack?" He asked."I don't know, they should be fine." I spoke while rubbing my belly softly. "Do you want me to get close to the pack?" He looked at me slowly and shook his head, "I want you to be done with all of them." I smiled at him. "I was thinking about merging the packs together." I told him. "We can do that." She replied, and I looked at him.We walked towards the balcony and overlooked the Pack. Things were really picking up. "Mom!" Raine called and we turned. "Rachel is troubling me!" He ran towards us and I rolled my eyes at him. I didn't think this was possible anyway. "Oh really?"

Daniel's POV. "I can't find Raine!" Abigail's voice sounded with urgency that had me jumping up from bed and dashing towards the door before remembering that I had no clothes on. "He was here with Mace a few minutes ago but now she's telling me that he is nowhere to be found. I have searched everywhere but now my mind is going haywire. I don't know where he is." This was a mess. My eyes roamed across the room seeking an answer to my questions. "Call Macy, I need to speak with her." I replied and immediately switched to my mind link. This had to be done almost immediately. "Jake, tell me what I hear is not true. How the hell would my son disappear from the public eye when you were supposed to keep him safe?" I inquired angrily. "How far I am completely perplexed about the situation. Although I am already returning, I will send out some scouts so that we can get to the bottom of this issue right now." He reassured me. Something wasn't right, yet I couldn't place my finger on it. If

Laurie inquired from a dark figure that shoved his hands into his pockets with his head bowed so that no one could figure out who he was. "This is not a perfect place to meet. You are only going to land me in more trouble. One of the basic reasons I have been wasting my time so far with you is because I believe you have something good for me. I inquired from Jake who was staring at me like I had grown three heads.Jake probably thought that I was losing my mind with how calm I was instead of fidgeting at the way he was acting. "Abigail has arrived." He announced and looked at me warily as if expecting me to say something that he'd not like. This wasn't going to make any atom of sense to him whatsoever."Tell her to come in then, instead of just standing over there. I want to see my kid. Call Mace so that she doesn't miss this lovely opportunity." I instructed him. After discussing with him, he was still looking at me warily but I was less concerned about his stare. He was afraid of Laurie finding out that I had a kid but at this point too, I was also going to introduce her to the pack. My son wouldn't live as a fugitive and all that I want to discuss is finding a better way of dealing wit

Back-and-forth.Abigail's POV."Raine... stop that." I called my toddler who was staring at me with a small smile on his face as though he knew what I was talking about. He was so intuitive and smart for his age that a lot of people were envious of him. "Are you sure this kid is almost a year old?" Daniel spoke over the phone when he had me calling him to stop moving his toys around. I nodded then realized that he couldn't see me. "Can't you switch to video calls so that you can see the extent of the mess he made and don't think that I am just making it up?" I inquired. A few seconds later I saw Daniel smiling at me. As though Raine knew that I wanted to video him, he stopped moving around and started smiling at me with a toothless grin."I think this boy is too smart. He knows that I wanted to show you what he was up to." Daniel's chuckle tickled my skin as I listened to his voice. "Are you serious? "You know better than to leave me here for a while yet return like I'm a piece of furniture." She demanded from him. Daniel paused as soon as he pulled the door open. "Good evening to you too, Laurie." He replied.Laurie refused to take his mode of speech seriously. He was only trying to gaslight her. "Do you realize that there is something wrong with us, Daniel? You don't care,do you?" She accused him but he didn't speak to her. "I am talking to you, Daniel. You won't turn me into a mad fellow! I'm trying to ensure that there is a semblance of order in the Pack but you're going ahead to do whatever you like. How does that even make any sense?" She accused him. Daniel was wroth yet considered their closeness. It was stupid for him to act all angry when it was something that they could just resolve slowly. "You are angry that I neglected you, which I apologize for,

Heartfelt Apologies. Abigail's POV. Meanwhile on the other hand, I watched Daniel stroke Raine's head softly as he looked ahead to see what was happening. "Is something wrong with him? He's been sleeping too much." Daniel blurted in fear. "He's sleeping from the aftereffect of the medications." I answered him, chuckling softly as he was acting as though there was a problem with my son. "Are you scared?" He nodded, "Very. I can't allow any harm to come to him. This is very basic but I believe that we can still do something about it, you know?" "About what?" "Our situation. You can return home with me." He suggested. "Since when did your pack become my home? After I gave birth huh? You've not even ascertained if this kid is yours, assumptions kill you know?" I retorted. He had been acting all cool and kind to me since we met again but I knew how harsh this man could be so I wasn't buying it. Daniel ran a palm across his face tiredly. Lonely Home. Meanwhile Jedidiah had managed to return home but was panting mercilessly as she went ahead to have a discussion. It was crazy that someone would be so interested in rubbishing her when she wasn't one of those girls. It was crazy but she would not take this one bit. Thankfully, Daniel was not at home and he didn't make it mandatory for her to remain in the Pack. It sent the wrong signal to her anyway. What the hell was she thinking about? Didn't she know that he was cruel in the first place? She thought and shook her head.As soon as she crossed the threshold she felt that something was different yet refused to stall further, she headed into the house and was shocked to meet the love of her life smoking."James, what the hell are you doing?!" She fired at him but was greeted with a grin on his face. He had no single remorse whatsoever concerning what he was doing. For all he cared, she was only just acting out of point instead of doing what he should."Do you realize ho
