JUNE

The wave of excitement that rushed through her when Ollie’s name lit up her phone screen caught her off guard, leaving her frozen in place as she tried to process what just happened.

She tilted her head slightly and let the phone ring as her thoughts spiraled.

How had it come to this? Just three weeks ago, she was ready to not have anything to do with him. Yet here she was now, her heart was racing, and her stomach was fluttering, as though she were some lovesick teenagers eagerly awaiting the chance to hear his voice.

She tried to count the seconds as the phone continued to ring. But by the fifth ring, she gave up, swiping the phone off the table with a little more force than necessary, and winced at her own eagerness.

“What?” she answered in an aloof tone to mask her jittery excitement.

“Can't pretend to be happy to hear my voice?” His deep, velvety voice slipped through the phone. It settled low in her stomach, being warm and unsettling all at once. It had only been three days

JUNEOf course, it was business. She looked away quickly before Ollie could catch any flicker of emotion on her face. What were you expecting, June? A date? Please. Stop setting yourself up.“So what’ve I got to do with that?” she asked, slumping back into the seat.“Good question,” he said and offered no explanation.June pursed her lips and didn’t bother pressing further. If he didn’t care to tell her, she didn’t care to know. They did not say another word to each other again until Olive pulled over in front the restaurant whose exterior was with aged brick walls spoke luxury, and polished brass awning. The place screamed exclusivity, the kind of venue that didn’t just serve food but offered an experience.Under different circumstances, she might have admired its grandeur. But knowing she was about to sit through who-knew-how-many hours of dull business chatter, June could hardly muster the enthusiasm to appreciate it.Her hand gripped the door handle as she prepared to step out. OLLIEJune knew she should stay away from Ollie. She had to, for her own sanity, to stop the feelings swirling in her chest from growing into something she couldn’t control. But she couldn’t avoid him. Not after her impulsive, idiotic promise to play the part of his fake girlfriend until he closed his deal with David. Now, she was stuck with Ollie and her ever growing feelings for him.Her thoughts spun as they walked in silence. The only sounds were the crunch of their shoes against the grass and the faint murmur of Ollie and David’s conversation behind them.Isabella let out a soft sigh as she looped her arm through June’s as they strolled. "Did something happen between you and Ollie?"June tilted her head toward Isabella. Was it that obvious that something was wrong? She didn’t want that happening. With a small shrug, she let out an awkward chuckle. "Why did you say that?"Isabella glanced over her shoulder, her lips curling into a knowing smile. “You two have been painfully awkward

JUNE"June, are you done?" Isabella’s cheerful voice filtered through in light and airy manner, contrasting sharply with the tension in the room."Yes, I'm coming," June called back stealing one glance at him before stepping past him and opening the door.Isabella greeted her with an enthusiastic grin. "You remember my sister I told you about?"June tilted her head slightly, nodding slowly. "Yes?" The truth was, she vaguely remembered Isabella mentioning her sister, but the details were hazy at best."She’s here!" Isabella’s excitement practically radiated from her as she grabbed June’s hand and tugged her toward the green field. "I told her about you.""Really?" June asked in surprise."Yes." Isabella’s voice was brimming with eagerness.A pang of guilt twisted in her heart. It hurt that Isabella was starting to see her as a friend while June was only here because of Ollie."She should be somewhere here," Isabella said, scanning the horizon as they neared the sitting area. Her gaze da

OLLIE"Did you and June fight?" David asked.Ollie sighed, already anticipating the question before David even spoke. The awkwardness between him and June was impossible to miss. She’d locked him out again, hiding behind that damn wall of hers. It was her defense mechanism; he got that. But understanding it didn’t mean he liked it.He hated it actually. He hated being on the outside, kept at arm’s length like he was some kind of intruder in her life. He hated how she wouldn’t let him in, wouldn’t share what she was feeling. He’d die to know what went on inside her head.Life was good, and then this happened. Whatever ‘this’ was. Ollie let out a reluctant sigh, his hand brushing over Rebecca’s sleek coat. The horse whinnied softly to this, making his lips curl slightly. When David’s stare lingered, and the silence stretched too long, Ollie muttered, "Just a slight argument. Nothing serious."David nodded in that knowing way of his. "It is normal for couples to fight," he said. "You ju

JUNEJUNEJune hadn’t realized how much she needed those words until Ollie said them to her. It was like a sudden exhale after holding her breath for far too long. She hadn’t known how desperately she craved someone to see her—really see her—and acknowledge the effort she poured into everything. To tell her she wasn’t just a pretty face or a body to look at. That she mattered. That her work mattered. She’d told herself those things before, sure, but it never quite hit the same. Coming from Ollie. Now the downside was it solidified her feelings for him in a way that felt terrifying. It wasn’t just a small crush anymore, wasn’t some fleeting admiration she could sweep under the rug and prayed it goes away. It scared her how it kept growing stronger every time. But the fear didn’t stop her heart from chasing it anyway.Yes, it was like digging he own grave. But how could she stop? How could she when he looked at her like she was the only one in the room? Or when he cupped her face with hi

JUNE“You are so beautiful.” June gushed as Isabella emerged from the dressing room.Isabella had pleaded with her to come along for the fitting, and June had agreed. Because she wouldn’t want Isabella thinking she was still holding grudges, despite her apologizing for her mother’s behavior. As Isabella twirled in front of the mirror, her face lit up with a joy so pure it was almost contagious. June felt her lips curl into a bittersweet smile. Isabella's dress was like fallen snow, flowing around her in a mesmerizing cascade, resembling a fountain frozen in time.“You think so?” Isabella asked, her cheeks pink with delight. She gave a quick spin, and the hem of her gown swirled gracefully around her ankles.“You’re perfect,” June replied.“Thank you,” Isabella said as her eyes glimmered with unshed tears of joy. She tugged at the fabric around her waist with a small frown. “Although the waist needs some adjustment. Mrs. Turner, what do you think?” Isabella called to the designer, who a

OLLIEHe and June were finally back on track, and for the first time in what felt like forever, life felt right. For once, there were no walls between them, and for that Ollie was glad.At this moment, he found himself staring at a photo of June in a wedding dress. She’d told him how Isabella had pestered her into trying it on and all he could think about was how grateful he was to Isabella for insisting. He’d been sitting there for who knew how long, trying to find the right words to capture how she looked, but nothing seemed to do her justice. Stunning? Too simple. Beautiful? Not quite enough. Exquisite? It didn’t quite capture the depth of emotion he felt. He went through a mental list of every possible adjective, but nothing came close to the perfection that was June. So he eventually settled on one.“You’re smiling?” Landon’s voice held a note of disbelief, pulling Ollie back to the present. His lips instinctively fell into a neutral line. He hadn’t even realized he’d been smiling

“What would you do if you like someone?” June asked casually, or at least she tried to make it sound that way. She’d been overthinking everything, as she always did. The deal was done. After David and Isabella’s wedding, her time with Ollie would come to an end, and they would return to their separate lives. She didn’t want that. No, she hated it. It made her sad, heartbroken even. She liked Ollie, and she couldn’t keep denying it. She was done pretending it was nothing, done lying to herself that the feelings ould fade with time. She knew they wouldn’t. It was far too late for that. She was in too deep, drowning in emotions she didn’t know how to express, not to Ollie, not even to herself.“Huh?” Lola finally responded. Her voice was sluggish as she raised her head from the tumbler in her hand. Her bleary eyes were half-closed, and she was slouched against the wall beside June’s bedroom desk. She looked tipsy, if not outright drunk. Her cheeks were flushed, and her words slightly slur

JUNEJune woke with a satisfied smile. The same smile that had rested on her lips when she’d drifted off against Ollie’s chest after he’d fucked her senseless. The soreness between her thighs and the scent of sex still clinging to the sheets were undeniably proof.Burying her face into Ollie’s sheets, she inhaled deeply, a soft hum vibrating in her throat. God, it should be illegal for someone to smell this good.Still half-dazed in the golden afterglow of sleep, she reached out, and her fingers blindly searched for the familiar heat of his body. Instead, they met cool, empty sheets. Her eyes fluttered open. Empty.A knowing sigh left her lips. There was only one place Ollie could be. She’d bet her last dime he was in his study, hunched over his laptop, completely engrossed in work.Jeez, he was a chronic workaholic. Most people worked to survive. Ollie worked because he thrived on it.Shaking her head, June slid out of bed, stretching before padding toward his sanctuary. The moment sh

  • His Stripper   Chapter 71

OLLIEHe opened his eyes to the soft glow of the moonlight filtering through the window, and there on the couch was June. She lay curled, chest rising and falling in every breath. The soft curve of her face was bathed in silver light, and for a moment, he forgot everything else.A smile tugged at his lips as he watched her.He stared at her for a long while, just savoring the sight of her, feeling a rare sense of peace. Finally with a reluctant sigh, he slid off the bed, and moved toward her quietly. When he reached her, he bent down slowly, carefully intending to lift her into his arms and move her to the bed. But just as his fingers brushed her shoulder, she stirred. Her eyelids fluttered, and she blinked in confusion as she met his gaze in the dim light. “Sorry,” he whispered. “I woke you up.”She groggily shifted, a frown pulling at her lips. “What?” Her voice was thick with sleep, and her eyes were still hazy. She quickly reached up, pressing her hands to his forehead. “How’s yo

  • His Stripper   Chapter 70

JUNEJune knew Ollie to an extent, and she knew that when he was hurting, he would retreat into himself like a hermit. He would never reach out. He was stubborn like that. He would isolate himself until it passed over.Today was the anniversary of his mother’s passing, and that couldn’t actually be easy for him. Not that he would admit it aloud. So, June took it upon herself to invite herself into his house, hoping her presence might help him.It wasn’t exactly an intrusion. Ollie had given her the access card himself, but that didn’t stop her from feeling nervous. Her heart pounded and her hands were clammy. Ollie’s reaction couldn’t be predicted and this could go very wrong. Maybe it was just her overthinking talking, but still. She had been waiting for over an hour now, sitting alone in his living room. Calling him wasn’t an option, she was too anxious to face his reaction over the phone. So she waited as each passing minute amplified the tension in her chest. After what felt like

  • His Stripper   Chapter 69

OLLIEThe longer Ollie stared at his late mother’s memorial picture, the more he realized that he shared zero resemblance with her—except for his eyes.Every defining feature he possessed came from his father, man he despised with every fiber of his being. It wasn’t just unfortunate. It was a curse. A colossal, cruel curse. To be the living reflection of the man who had haunted his life? It was enough to drive anyone insane. He should’ve felt something standing here—grief, sadness, anything. But instead, all he could do was compare. His mother’s face, captured forever in a frame, and his own. No sorrow. No anger. Just an aching numbness, lodged so deep in his bones it felt like it had always been there. There was a time when he would’ve been furious. When moments like this would’ve filled him with rage. But the older he got, the more that fire cooled, replaced by grim understanding. His father had hollowed his mother out. Shattered her at the height of her success, then dragged her dow

JUNEJune didn’t protest, didn’t question him. The only thing she knew was how badly she wanted to feel him between her legs.He moved between her legs, fitting his broad frame in the space she made for him. Slowly, he bent down, and slid her legs over his shoulders. She sucked in a breath in anticipation as he traced the soft curves of her thighs. When his fingers hooked around her thong and pulled it aside, she felt a flush spread over her skin, her body tingling with raw desire.A low, throaty groan that Ollie let out vibrated through her, his breath caressed her pussy. Ollie didn’t rush as he alternated between teasing her clit and sliding deep inside of her. He dragged out her pleasure until she was a mess of frustration and needs.“Ollie, please,” she whispered “I need…” She bit her lip, unable to finish her sentence as another nibble of his teeth on her clit cut off her thoughts completely.“What do you need?” he murmured against her.He knew exactly what he was doing, and it

JUNE“Are you even listening?”June heard Lola’s voice vaguely“Of course,” she said on autopilot as her lips curved into a small smile at the text Ollie had sent her. It had been a long day filled with back-to-back shifts, and she could finally reply to his message.“What was I saying?”Lola said, and June blinked, raising her gaze to meet Lola’s. Her arms were crossed over her chest, and a frown was etched on her face.“Uhm…” June’s voice trailed off as her eyes darted away as though the answer might magically appear in the air between them.“See? You weren’t listening.” Lola’s frown deepened as she gestured toward her with a pointed look. “Ever since you got yourself a boyfriend, you’ve become insufferable.”“I haven’t,” June gasped dramatically.Lola shook her head as her eyes narrowed. “Knew there was a reason I didn’t like him,” she muttered under her breath, but it was loud enough for June to hear. “He’s here to steal my girlfriend.”June rolled her eyes at her friend’s dramatic

  • His Stripper   Chapter 66

OLLIEIt had been four weeks since Italy, and he’d never been happier than he was now.Crazy.He never thought he’d describe himself as happy. It felt strange, but he was.Every day, he found himself genuinely looking forward to something. Or, rather, someone. At twenty-eight, it felt surreal, as if life had suddenly clicked into placeBeing with June made sense. She was the spark that lit up his once colorless life. The vibrance of his monotonic life. It was like stepping into the light after walking through a long dark tunnel. Everything with her felt new, strange, and calming all at once.Over the past few weeks, their relationship had blossomed. They’d gone on dates, talked late into the night, learning about each other. And yeah, they’d had sex. A lot of it.But now, they were countries apart. Two days, and he already missed his girlfriend like hell. He used to look forward to this annual conference, but not anymore. Now, he just wanted to be home with her.Sure, they’d stayed in

  • His Stripper   Chapter 65

JUNEWhen he finally pulled back, it wasn’t far. His forehead rested against hers, their breaths mingling in the inches of space between them. His hands slid down to her waist, and his fingers splayed possessively as if he feared she might vanish if he let go.A wide smile spread across her face. To her delight, Ollie smiled too. His smile was warm and boyish. The moment felt surreal. For so long, she’d convinced herself that Ollie would never see her that way, but here he was, looking at her like she was the only thing that mattered in the world, like it had always been her for him.His hands slid lower, pausing at the hem of her dress. His silver eyes searched hers for permission, and when she gave the slightest nod, he pulled the fabric over her head in one fluid motion.Stepping back, he let his gaze roam over her. His eyes gleamed with an intensity that made her pulse race.“You look divine, baby,” he breathed.June’s cheeks flushed under his scrutiny as heat pooled in her belly.

  • His Stripper   Chapter 64

JUNEThe awkward silence continued to press down on June as they made their way back to the house. The sidewalk was bathed in golden glow of the lampposts by each side. Italy had been beautiful, and she had enjoyed herself—thanks to Ollie—but now, everything felt off.It all started with her suggestion that they stay in touch. A harmless attempt to hold onto him without appearing too eager, yet it had landed all wrong. Now, she couldn’t escape the endless loop of overthinking, and the nagging tension at the back of her head made it worse. Why had he even told her he liked her? If he hadn’t said that, she wouldn’t have been so desperate to push for more. But now, it felt like a mistake, and she was sure he regretted it.He probably meant it platonically. But damn, how her heart had soared when he said it. It had leaped, somersaulted in her chest, butterflies spreading through her belly. She had forced herself to calm down, knowing all along that it wasn’t meant the way she had hoped. Ho
