Finn

"Did you find anything?" I asked for the sixth time that day.

It's been eight weeks since the incident at the hidden treasure, but I still can't bring myself to forget her.

I don't know why I can't seem to get her out of my mind, her voice haunts me in low whispers everyday. However, the search for her has been to no avail. Every time the search party returns empty handed, my heart becomes heavy, probably out of guilt. Because every time I close my eyes, I see the blood stain on the sheets; the testimony of what I took from her.

“No highness,” the guard bowed his head in shame.

Without speaking further, I waved him off. I knew he would say that, but the disappointment that came with the news was severe. I was disappointed and was starting to lose hope of ever finding her.

She is probably a figment of my imagination.

I know that isn’t true since I hear her voice every time. I touched her that night and I saw the patches on the bed after she left. However, I could have dealt him a slap to stop him from doing all that to me, but I knew that I would only bring more trouble for myself if I did that.couldn’t help but think that she was non-existent since the elite guards of the palace have been unable to find her.

I mean, who doesn’t know that the elite guards of Callhary kingdom can find a needle in the sea? Yet, they’ve been unable to find the lady even after several attempts. So, I concluded that she is either locked up somewhere or is non-existent.

Could she probably be a ghost?

Even though, I came to this conclusion, a part still wouldn’t stop searching. Because she was too real to be non-existent, and if she’s locked up somewhere, I will do all I can to find her no matter how long. Right now, I have to concentrate on the academy since it was about to be opened for the year.

The luna academy was founded to raise and train young ladies to become the next luna or queen. This tradition has been practised for ages, but was stopped when my father became king and he closed down the academy.

However, upon the request of the council and the people it is to be opened again, and I was chosen to be the principal and the coach of the academy. My father believes that my strength and agility makes me the best fit for the coach position, and since I still haven’t found my mate, what better way to get one for myself? I even got to mould her to become the woman of my choice.

Left with no choice, I complied and agreed to become the coach, hoping that the goddess would be nice enough to send that woman my way.

Every woman between age 18-25 was welcomed to enroll in the academy as this would help keep the ladies in the kingdom refined even though they end up not getting chosen.

This year my father made it compulsory that my brother, Caleb and I must choose our partners from the academy since we still haven’t found our mate. Though Caleb already found his mate, my parents insisted that they could only be together if she graduates from the academy.

Being the coach of the academy, I have to make sure that everything was in place since the academy would be officially open tonight and enrollment will begin tomorrow.

I sighed as I stood up and left the study to go visit the academy. I checked the study room and made sure that it was built to match the modern world learning space. The library and game room were structured as expected. The rooms were spacious and well designed for each participant.

Feeling content with the work done in the academy, I gave the green signal for my father to announce the opening of the academy. The news was displayed on every television station so that everyone was aware of the academy.

Even though everyone was welcomed to enroll in the academy, only ten gets chosen to be trained in the academy and the best one gets to be the queen while the others are chosen to be mated to the princes. The facility was built to train the ladies into becoming queen candidates or mates to the princes and luna to other elites in the kingdom.

After watching the news I went straight to bed. I had no intention of attending the launch since that would only give my enemies another chance to attack me, and until I haven’t found out how I got drugged on that, I won’t attend any of the royal banquet.

My job begins in the morning anyway, since I have to go through the names of people who apply for enrollment into the academy. Caleb was in charge of the selection and I am in charge of the training.

At 12p.m the next day several applications had been sent in, and caleb seemed to have decided on the ten that should be enrolled. There were criteria to be considered before selecting the candidates, and even though I found it strange that Caleb was too quick to select who was to be enrolled, I still couldn’t object since that was his job not mine.

The names were submitted to the father who made some adjustments to the selection before sending the list to me. There were ten names displayed on my tab. Which means the ten ladies who I am to train. And one of these ladies would become my chosen mate.

I wonder who it could be.

I know that I couldn’t decide who my mate would be just by the names, but for some reason I found myself staring deeply at the names.

Could my mate be among the ladies listed here?

At the thought of my mate, I found myself thinking about the woman from that night. She was the only woman who had to stir up my wolf and leave an impact on me.

Who exactly was she? Why does she have such an effect on me? Where could she be? Could it be that she is not from this kingdom?

Several thoughts swam through my head at the thought of the lady.

She is nowhere to be found but her impact remains with me and her voice wouldn’t stop haunting me. How could she present even in her absence?
