Mr.Madrigal was so addicted to gambling and alcohol that he got into indebtedness. Until he got to the point where he could no longer afford to pay his debt to its creditors. So his exit point was to sell his daughter to a businessman to whom he owed a large sum.

Her daughter River was his last choice to pay his debt, and the young lady could do nothing if she didn't obey her father's order. Her mother and siblings might be in danger at the hands of its creditors. So she was forced to live with a man she had never met in her whole life.

All she knew was that he was a heartless and womanly billionaire. And even though it was against her will to live with him, she couldn't do anything. Because even if she worked for it, she would never be able to pay the exact amount and the interest of the debt. This is the first time she has been separated from her parents, and grief almost covers her whole being because of bad things happening to her.

River just broke up with her ex-boyfriend Elion and it was a painful heartbreak for her because she loved her boyfriend so much and she never thought that he could trade her for someone else just because of a one-night mistake. They've been a lot through ups and downs so River never thought they would end up like this after 7 years in a relationship.

He was startled in his deep thought when she heard a faint knock on the door. So she got up and turned on the knocker.

"Good morning Miss!" Greetings from a man in his early 30's. River adjusted herself and smiled softly at the man.

"Good morning too," River greeted with a smile. The man bowed slightly and smiled.

"Your breakfast is ready downstairs Miss, so you can come down and have a breakfast with Master Spencer." The man casually says.

River lips were parted for the man's name. 'Spencer Vilavide, He is already here?' she said to herself. The young lady has been living in Spencer Vilavide's mansion for a few days, but she has not seen it since she came here. And this is the first time she will personally see who everyone calls heartless and womanly Spencer Vilavide.

"Let's go, Miss." The man said to River.

River quietly followed the man. And as they went down the stairs only now did the maiden notice the breadth and width of the mansion. The house has an east and west wing and her location is on the east wing. As they continued to walk, the maiden noticed the whole house was empty, and she could only see is some portraits hanging on the wall. Aside from the sofa and table, there are only a few uses here that for her are lifeless. The interior of the mansion was also a bit dark so River thought maybe it also showed a replica of Spencer's personality. They reached a room where there was a long table and many chairs. As soon as they entered, almost everyone present who was sitting turned around and stared at River. The young lady's eyes were fixed on a man who was sitting at the end of a long table and also staring at her. She immediately felt nervous and swallowed as they stretched out their eyes, so she immediately looked away from it and then turned to the four women who's been sitting around the table.

"Here we are Miss," The man said while gesturing his hands to the table. River leaned over and guided her to an empty seat next to Spencer.

"Thank you." River's smiled softly and thanked the man.

"Troy!" Spencer's voice sternly called the man whos with River earlier.

"Yes, Master!" He immediately approached Spencer and bowed.

"Stop smiling with my woman!" There is a threat in his voice. Troy immediately nodded and walked away.

River looked at Spencer and Troy. 'What? Woman.' The maiden asked herself confused.

"Eat up." Spencer had no emotion toward the women at the dinner table. The women immediately followed the young man and ate quietly. River was about to eat when she saw the contents of his plate. 'Shrimp?' Spencer noticed that she was lingering on her plate so she stopped eating and looked at River.

"What's wrong?" Spencer asked frowning. River looked at him then looked down.

"Are you mute !?" Spencer's tone of voice was tinged with annoyance when suddenly a woman next to River in the chair spoke.

"Do you have allergies to shrimp?" She question River. She nodded and smiled.

"Troy! Serve some other food here." He commands Troy with his right hand. Troy immediately followed him and a few moments later River's food was delivered, the young lady smiled at Troy and the maid who brought her food.

"F*ck! Stop smiling you whore!" Spencer shouted in shock as he slapped his spoon on the table and stared at River sharply. River was surprised by Spencer's sudden aggression. This is a reason for her to glance at the women with him who can see the fear in their eyes. River just swallowed and took a deep breath then stared hard at Spencer.

"I'm full!" She only said once she turned her back on the table and took a step when suddenly someone grabbed her arm tightly which caused her to jump in pain and look back at the one whos holding her.

"Don't you dare push my limits on you! You might not like what I gonna do to you! River Madrigal!" Spencer angrily reminded the woman. But instead of being frightened, she forcefully removed the man's hand and bravely faced it.

"I do not care!" She also answered angrily and then finally turned her back on Spencer and went up the stairs to go back to her room.

Ever since she arrived at the mansion, she just barely stay in her room. She was just lying and wandering around the room. and she never tried to escape or even wander around inside the mansion. And from what she had witnessed earlier, she was even more reluctant to come out because of the aggressive behavior that Spencer had shown her.

'Pity him! He had good looks but he has a very vulgarisation and an ugliness attitude.' She whispered through herself.
