"I want you to marry my son Zane...."

What????

My heart just stopped and I could not react.

Why was he asking that? Am I going insane or am imagining things??? Did he know about my feelings for Vane?

"Was he serious?.... or was he kidding???"

"I don't know, how long I stood there asking myself questions without saying anything..."

My mind went blank...

My father came close to me and told me to say something. That was when I realized I wasn't dreaming... And uncle was actually asking me to marry his son Vane.

OMG!!! But does he want to get married to me?? I didn't know what to say. What happened all of a sudden???

"But he was getting married today? "I asked.

"Yes, her mom came in not too long ago. Asking if julia spent the night at vanes yesterday. Vane said NO and she said Julia is nowhere to be found... Uncle said. He was broken inside, I could feel it from his tone.

Oh my God!!!

I was shocked to hear that, my hand went to my mouth.

How could she do that?

"Now you know everything better,she is the most irresponsible girl. How could she do this on their own wedding day, without dropping a letter or word for anyone... I nodded but kept quiet. what could I say? My mom asked if I have any problem regarding this marriage.

I have always had a crush on vane. so it was not really a problem. But what about Rahul? He didn't even look at me properly... And he was in love with Julia...

"Olga, do you have anyone special in your life? Are you in love with someone?" Asked my dad.

"No dad it's not like that, but I need some time. How can I get married today? Vane was supposed to get married to someone else, he has feelings for her. Moreover, it can't be just my decision. What about him?"

"Ok better, I will talk to him. Please do this for us... We have literally the whole city seated outside waiting for a wedding ceremony. If we do not have a wedding here today. it's going to be all over the paper tomorrow."

Please uncle calm down anxiety is not good for you. I understand you well. And I accept, if my parents accept and vane accepts too.I replied, I didn't know if what I was saying was wrong or right....

Uncle seemed so relax after I said this... Thank you so much Olga. You are the sweetest girl around.

My mom and aunt where told to go and prepare me for the wedding ceremony, and I left with both of them.

Aunt called vane, and said "Vane go in your dad needs to talk with you urgently." he just nodded and entered inside. He was really sad, I could see that from his facial expressions. Aunt also instructed Kamil to go outside and tell the guests that his dad is better now and would be coming out within an hour time to declare the ceremony open officially. And he should also apologize for the delay and make sure that everything is under control.

"But, mom???? "Do as I say son there will be a wedding for your brother today" He looked so confused, but went to do what his mom instructed him to do.

"Let us go get our daughter ready," Maria. said aunt to my mom and my mom smiled.

Aunty took us to a room which was assigned to the bride The wedding dress was hanging there.

Aunt opened the dress cover and took the dress out it was a beautiful mehndi in wine colour. it was a very elegant and sophisticated clothe...

Aunty looked at me and said, Am so sorry you weren't able to be the one to choose your dress yourself. I know every girl have their likes and dislikes. But am glad you are going to be our daughter in-law. We promise to get you everything of your choice after this wedding sweetie.

I just smiled. Just then the make up artist came and started her job. My mom looked at me adoringly. Aunt Sonia left I and my mom together to go check on vane and his dad.

it took 30 minutes to get my makeup done. Just then aunt returned with some heavy traditional jewelries. it was very pretty and went very well with my mehndi (wedding dress)

She helped me put them on and said "You are the most beautiful bride I have ever seen...." God bless you.

I looked at myself in a mirror, I couldn't believe I was looking so beautiful. My mom had happy tears in her eyes, she was getting emotional already. She hugged me... Just then we heard a knock it was my dad. He was ready to take me to the mandap (marriage altar).

When he looked at me, he just kept staring at me. " Am so blessed to have such a beautiful and lovely daughter...." You look so beautiful my princess, let's go your prince awaits you. Vane is a very good guy he will take very good care of you.

I just smiled and hugged my parents again...

My dad and mom started leading me towards the mandap (Altar). My heart was beating so fast as I walked towards vane. I didn't know if what I was doing was right or not.

"What if he hates me for this? What if he is still in love with Julia? What if he never accepts me as his wife? I asked my self... As different thoughts ran through my mind. Or should I run away after this wedding? What if julia finds out?"

"We have never talked before, So what are we going to talk about as married couples..." I kept wondering. We don't even know anything much about the each other except that we are close family freinds.

We almost reached the stage where we were supposed to go for Jai mala (exchanging garlands). I kept looking downwards all the time. But as soon as I reached the tiny stage near the altar. i raised my head up, and just then our eyes collided... as he held my hand and helped me climb the stairs to the stage.

It was a strange feeling as he held my hand.Everyone was looking very happy. But it seemed he was sad. I could understand his state of mind. He was actually in love with someone else and was supposed to get married to her. And here he was getting married to me instead. The girl, whom he always avoided like plague.

What should I expect from him in this marriage,I was just a substitute bride to him. After all I have always kept the feelings I had for him to my self.

It was time for the Nupital mass and we stood up to the altar while the Ojciec jit blessed our engagement ring, marriage and the fruits it will bring forth....

After that, we had the bread and salt welcome rites which was organized by zane's parents.... We all danced and rejoiced till eve...

We took blessings from our parents,relatives and Ojciec jit. And with that I was now officially an Mrs Olga Harrison.

My parents and I where already getting emotional... but Uncle Rachel promised my parents that he will take good care of me and I will be very happy with them after all i was like a daughter to them.

My dad made me sit in zanes tastefully decorated car and shaked vanes hand saying "Take very good care of my daughter" he nodded saying Sure uncle, just rest assured.

We reached the Harrisons mansion and it was decorated and very well lit. We got down the car and aunt gave me a warm welcome saying "Welcome to your beautiful home my dear..." Thanks ma'am, I said tiredly... Aunt could see the tiredness in my eye. So she told me to rest and took me to his room.

The room was decorated with rose flower garland and there were floating candle arrangements with rose petals in them. My heart was racing so fast as I didn't know what we were going to talk about.... Just then Zane entered the room.He was looking very upset, then he went straight to the restroom without even looking at me... He then came out and sat on the bed just close to me.

"Why did you even agree to this marriage?" You could have said NO, now we both are in awkward situations, we didn't even love each other. I know this is a very awkward situation, I did what I did because of your father. I know you are still in love with Julia. I know it's very difficult for you to see me as your wife.I didn't want to get married like this too... But couldn't reject it as your dad requested me to accept his proposal. He is just like a father to me and I felt really bad after I heard he had an anxiety attack.

Ok I understand, what about your life? What about your happiness? He asked.

It doesn't really matter that much to me compared to the grief we will experience if anything happens to our parents. Moreover, there is no special person in my life so I took the decision.

He kept on staring at me for a few minutes before saying... You can now go and change so that you can be more comfortable.

"I nodded saying yes, but I don't have what you change into" He then stood up and headed for his wardrobe to get me something to wear... He brought out a red coloured transparent night gown and said... You might not like to put it on. But that's all I can offer. I kept wondering what a female wear was doing inside his wardrobe,

My facial expressions showed that I was shocked actually, and he decided to explain...
