Chapter 5 – Out of Danger… For Now.
I tilted my head at the food on my plate as my mind could not clearly comprehend what the Alpha had said. However, I had decided to brush it off instead and eat my food and since there was no one here in the dining area, I filled my stomach to its fullest since I am not sure when would I have this opportunity again and to see that all these dishes were very well cooked and seasoned makes it more delicious! Goddess, I could have thought of this table as the table in heaven.
It almost took me an hour to finish more than half of the food on the table, I could not take them all anymore, I am too full. I plopped myself back on the chair and rested for a few minutes before I stood up and started piling the empty plates and took them in the sink.
“Madame, I will do it.” A lady came in the kitchen and quickly tried to take the plates from my hand and prevent me from washing them.
“N-no, please, I will do it. Let me.” I replied since this is also my job and I used these plates so I should be the one to clean it
“No Madame, you are the Alpha’s guest, please, let us.” The lady said and firmly stood on the ground not letting me.
“T-then, uhm… please let me help you. I can clean the table… and where should I put the remaining food?” I asked, glancing at the table in the dining area.
“I…the Alpha might get mad to us if we let you work Madame.”
“No, it is alright, the Alpha brought me here to work too.” I smiled shyly.
She looked to the side, thinking and as if she does not believe what I was saying.
“You can just, maybe you can just take the remaining plates here in the kitchen instead and leave it there in the kitchen island Madame, the other Omega servants would come later to take it.”
“Okay. By the way did you eat already? There are a lot of foods left.” I suggested because the food might get wasted.
“We are already done eating Madame.” She replied as she started washing the plates.
And then an idea came up in my head, I should take some of the food instead so I would have something to eat during lunch later.
“Oh, uhm, can I ask for a plastic container instead then where I can put some of the leftovers?” I asked.
“Of course Madame… here.” The lady opened a cabinet and took out a tupperware lunch box and handed it to me.
“Thank you.” I replied and walked to the dining area, limping since my foot still hurts a bit.
I then put some chicken legs and breast, and rolled eggs, and some bacon on the lunch box and closed the lid. I guess that would be enough for my lunch later. Then I followed what the lady said and put the remaining food on the kitchen island.
“By the way, what is your name?” I asked.
“It is Lea, Madame.”
“Lea… such a nice name. Thank you, Lea… And please do not call me madame for I am not.” I said and did not bother to tell her my name instead since I do not have one. They may talk to me without any address if they want. I figured that she was about to ask what to call me then but I gave her a smile and quickly walked away, and took the lunch box and spoon and fork from the dining table and walked up to the stairs and then to my room where I hid the lunch box on a drawer of the bedside table and the book beside it. I walked downstairs again and search for the laundry room, I entered hallways that are not familiar to me and luckily after a few paths, I found the laundry room and saw that there are baskets of dirty laundry on baskets and lined up washing machines. So I looked for the laundry powder and filled the washing machine with after carefully separating the dirty laundries according to their color, type, and extent of dirt in them. I am used to this already.
When I am finished putting them all inside the washing machines, I sat on a small chair in the laundry room and just watched the washing machine spin the laundries inside them.
I do not know how much time was I am spending here in the laundry room for I had to clean some clothes again due to too much mud and dirt in them, the pack must have been doing a lot of work.
When the cleaner clothes were done drying I took them out from the dryer and started folding them nicely while I waited for the others to finish.
However, my head quickly snapped to the door when it suddenly opened and to my fear, it was the Alpha, who was looking evidently furious at me. Unconsciously, my hand started to tremble and my lips quiver as I felt the hot tears trying to pool in my eyes. My hand dropped a white tee shirt and to my fear of getting it dirty again, I immediately picked it up and looked at the Alpha again who was clenching his jaw as his hand was firmly holding the door knob.
“A-alpha. D-do you n-need anything?” I asked as I remember a similar scene where either my mother or brother would barge in and strike me for I forgot to do something or I have committed a mistake, or most of the time, they just take out their anger and frustration on me.
“What are you doing?” I could hear the strict and firmness in his voice as if I have committed something wrong again and that I had to be convicted of it.
“I-I… I was w-washing the la… laundry, Alpha. B-but I will be finished soon, do not worry. I… I… Uhm, is there something else I had to wash Alpha? Or something to do?”
“Did I tell you to do that?”
My eyes widened and looked at him but with his piercing and dangerous gaze at me as if accusing me of something, I immediately looked down and stared at my toes instead.
“N-no, Alpha. I am sorry.”
“Yosmin! Come over here!” I jolted at the booming voice of the Alpha that resonated in the pack house, as he called someone named Yosmin.
“Y-yes, Alpha.” A woman who was probably in her thirties immediately came and stood at the door where the Alpha is.
“Who told her to come here and do the laundry?”
The woman named Yosmin looked at me.
“I-I do not know, Alpha this is my first time to see her.” Yosmin replied, eyeing me.
“No one… No one told me, Alpha. I am sorry.” I said and felt sorry that Yosmin was called on this.
“Continue what she was doing…” the Alpha ordered Yosmin and then he looked at me.
“And you, drop that shirt and follow me.” he instructed which I obediently did as he started to walk away.
“I am so sorry, Madame.” I apologized to Yosmin.
“Oh no, do not call me Madame, just Yosmin. And it is fine, this is our job. Anyway go with the Alpha now.” She said and gestured me to follow the Alpha which I did.
I meekly followed him and we ascended the stair, and he opened my bedroom, entering so I entered as well and braced myself to get punished. He slammed the door shut which made me jot up at the loud noise again.
“Look at me.” he ordered but I hesitated.
“I said look at me.” he repeated firmly and so I slowly looked at him as I held my hand together to stop them from trembling.
“Why did go around the laundry room?”
“I-it is my work Alpha.”
“No it’s not!”
I stepped back in surprise and defense when he flailed his arms in the air, and I feared that he would hit me. I looked down and I can feel that he was watching me. I glanced at him and I could see the confusion in his eyes.
“Stay in this room, and do not do anything until I tell you so. Do not listen to anyone’s order, only from me, do you understand?” he coldly uttered.
“Y-yes, Alpha.”
He then turned around and closed the door, that was when I was able to breathe relaxingly, thinking that I was out of danger… for now.
Chapter 6 – Nice? What Is It?It was almost one in the afternoon when I remembered to eat. I put down the book the Alpha lend to me and walked to the bedside table, and opened the drawer and took out the lunch box with spoon and fork, and walked back to the footboard of the bed and sat on the carpeted floor where I was seated earlier. I am not used to using these fancy and looking comfortable furniture inside this room, I am still used to what I was given when I was growing up, the floor to sit and sleep on, the old and worn out clothes that were passed down from my sisters, and well, just being alone. For the past hours I just stayed inside my room as ordered by the Alpha, and I did not dare to disobey him again coz it seem like his patience towards me was getting thin already.I opened the lunch box and started to eat while my other hand was on the book on the ground, holding the pages to keep it open as I read and eat at the same time.
Chapter 7 – Then I Name You……We entered the forest and the dried leaves crashed down and twigs break below the soles of our shoes as we step on them. I do not know where we are going, but I still followed the Alpha as I looked around, and admired the trees around us and the birds chirping around and some insects buzzing as we pass by, probably we are disturbing their homes. I have been kept for years inside the four walls of my room. I had never got a chance to explore the world outside a pack house. I was caged, and deprived of my freedom to the point that I have not much knowledge about the outside world and I had only live inside the world of the books I read. I was lucky that I even learned to read whenever I hear my sisters tutors teaching them before and when they discard some of their school stuff I would keep them and teach myself to read, aside from that, I am pretty dumb already. I have no proper education or anything, I guess f
Chapter 8 – Because You Can Hurt MeI looked up at him and stared for a moment. There was no joke or any hint of amusement and mocking on his face.Is he serious?“A-antheia?” I asked, repeating what the Alpha had said.“Yes… Antheia… do you like it?” the Alpha asked in return, turning to look at me, towering over my petite figure compared to his tall built, blocking the light of the sun behind him, and making himself look as if he was an angel from above but with a features of a deadly devil from below. For a moment, I was lost in awe at him that I had myself unconsciously nodding in approval at the word he named me.Antheia…It is a nice name.A name… for me.I finally have a name…“Antheia? Why? W-why Antheia, Alpha?” I asked out of curiosity coz it sounds so beautiful how could he come up with it?He shrugged h
Chapter 9 – She Is All I Have“What? You do not understand?” the Alpha asked in disbelief, looking at me as if I am such an unbelievable creature in front of him, but more like a dumb one.“No. How could someone promise of something so uncertain Alpha when one does not hold the life of the other neither the circumstances that this life holds against me?” I asked because I know that at some point, I would get hurt, one way or another, and such an utterance of certainty from him sounds so unreal. Why would someone like him who just met me will try to protect me and say that I would never be hurt again? such a lie.The Alpha then turned around after a sighed, then he continued to walk and I just followed behind.“Well at least… while I am around, I am not going to let anyone hurt you. That is a promise.” He uttered.“Why?” I asked in curiosity. But I did not get an an
Chapter 10 – Fine Lady 101“Lea, someone will be going in town today, right?” I heard the Alpha’s voice entered the dining area but I did not dare to look up at him as I just sat on my chair, frowning at the foods in front.“Yes, Alpha.” Lea replied.“Buy these for the kitten. And by the way, send someone in her room to clean up and take her plates” The Alpha uttered which made me tilt my head to the side and eventually look at him and he just raised an eyebrow at me after handing a piece of paper to Lea.“W-where is Daisy, Alpha?” I asked, hoping that my kitten was okay.“What do you think I did?” the Alpha asked in return as he took the chair beside me and started piling food on his plate.“You took her away from me?”“I took her to the pack doctor.”I was speechless for a second, I thought he was actually taking h
Chapter 11 – Turning a CinderellaA circular plate at the middle of the place mat and on top of the plate was a white folded napkin, then on my right were two spoons on the outer then two knives, then the plate, and then on the left of the plate were two forks and on the upper area of the plate there is another pair of spoon and fork, then on the right upper part were three wine glasses and on the left upper part was a small plate and a knife placed on top of it.Ookay… What is happening?“Uhm… I just had my breakfast?” I uttered.“You are not having another breakfast darling… Now, do you know what those are?” Finary asked.“Ah yeah, of course, forks, spoons, plates, and wine glasses. And oh of course a napkin.”“Sure they are! but not really....” She deadpanned in the end of her sentence.I looked at her blankly and dumbfounded. What does she
Chapter 12 – Alpha, Do You Have A Name?I stopped on my track and Finary was curious at my sudden halt. She followed the line of my sight and found the Alpha near the doorway.“Is she stressing you so much, Finary?” the Alpha asked and chuckled.“She is so stiff, Alpha, but we can manage.”“Told you it would be a hard work. Anyway, we should have our lunch for now so she could rest.” The Alpha said and thank goddess for that because I felt like my knees and ankles were already about to give up.“Sure, Alpha. We will now set up the table formally so Antheia would be used to it.” Finary said and left along with the two ladies. And now I was left rooted on the floor, they just left me in this high heels! With my read to give up knees, I took small steps towards the couch, balancing myself and fearing that I might fall and break my ankle again, it just healed!I
Chapter 13 – Angel In Disguise? To my surprise and embarrassment, the Alpha snickered, holding a burst of laugh. Was he mocking me? Did he not really meant when he said that I can ask for anything?Oh goddess! Why did I even think that he actually meant that I could request anything I want. I should know my place! And be grateful to whatever they give me and not request for something more anymore. But when I looked at his eyes, his gaze was so overwhelming and heart warming. He was giving me the gaze of adoration and amusement, I do not know if I was right at how he was looking, but I am sure of it. It was not a mocking look or a joke on me.“What chocolate?” the Alpha then asked.“R-really? It is okay?” I asked, is he really going to give me? she he was not mocking me or anything?“Yeah. I can give you whatever you want.” the Alpha replied.“Oh, uhm… any c
Chapter 87 – Her Home and BelovedThe Rossathorn Pack easily found Mindor and extracted the truth from him. He was the only remaining person alive who knew the truth from that night Luna Elena gave birth to the successor of Rossathorn. He revealed the truth, that it was Connor who ordered him to dispose of the child, but he kept her. However, despite the truth that he kept the child alive, the Rossathorn pack did not forgive him for the life he had given Antheia, the sufferings she had to endure at the hands of the alpha of Muggar pack. They let him live and his family, but in misery. They had become low workers of the pack, working in the fields and mountains owned by Rossathorns. The fate of Mindor and his pack had been known to Alpha Raven who had once put them in misery for what they did to Antheia. But he never found out the reason why. He assumed that Mindor had a great debt to pay to the Rossathorns, and Jane indeed had done a great job of keeping the truths from the public. No
Chapter 86 - DNA Match“Elena.” Luna Elena’s father, Arnold called to her but she was not listening. She had left him on her table for a few minutes while he sorted some papers to be passed to the advisors of the pack after her signature and approval of them. “Elena, I have been calling for you. What are you looking at?” Arnold looked out the window as well when he noticed the shaken expression of Luna Elena. And in an instant, his eyes narrowed at Antheia’s back and the bold red laurel marking on her back.“Who is she? She bears the Rossathorn’s mark. I do not recognize her being a part of our family.” Arnold said not being able to recognize Antheia since it was her back that was turned to him.“She is just a guest.” Luna Elena said.“No outsider of this family bears the same mark. Where is she from? Is it real or a tattoo to mimic the Rossathorn’s crest?” Arnold inquired, also surprised to see someone with the same mark. He remembers that his wife, Luna Elena’s mother also bore the
Chapter 85 - Revealed BirthmarkJane led the way to the backyard where Luna Elena was already waiting for them and watching over Jane’s kids and two of their nieces playing together. It was just the three of them, Jane, Luna Elena, and Antheia, because they did not want to attract unnecessary attention to the young lady which may cause an uproar of speculations especially since Antheia has a resemblance to the young Elena. They wanted to investigate quietly and even though it may seem rude and unright to investigate Antheia without her knowledge, they still chose to proceed without letting her know because they did not want to bother the young lady with their speculations. Not until they have proven and made a positive conclusion. As they settled down in their seats and enjoyed their tea and salads with some light chicken dishes, the conversation was light and was mainly about Rossathorn pack and how the once barren backyard turned into one that is filled with different kinds of flowe
Chapter 84 - Invite Her“Speculations,” Luna Elena uttered sighing even though she was considering the possibilities of the things that her sister Jane had said. She rested her back against her chair and stared at nowhere on her wooden table.“Then give me permission to prove it to you,” Jane said and Luna Elena looked at her.“Sister, you already went beyond without my permission and yet now you are asking for permission?” Luna Elena sarcastically smirked. “Just for formality.” Jane replied.“What do you need?” the Luna asked.“Invite her again here. For a cup of tea perhaps?” Jane suggested“Why?”“We need her DNA, Elena. That is the most guaranteed way to prove that she does not belong to our family, or if she does. You and her.” Jane said and the Luna was about to protest again but Jane already spoke first, cutting her off.“I am not trying to put your hopes up, Elena. It is just to make sure.”“Fine. Send her an invite.” Luna Elena said.“Got it.” Jane uttered feeling accomplish
Chapter 83 - Jane’s InvestigationJane told Luna Elena what she had learned about Antheia. She did her own research on Muggar Pack, the Alpha and Luna of the Muggar Pack that raised Antheia, and what happened to Antheia before she turned eighteen. She found out about Antheia being a daughter of a slut of the Alpha of Muggar Pack and that she lived like a servant to the Alpha’s family until she was disposed to the traders which placed her in the auction where Raven had found her, which then later after a few months, the traders and people behind the auction were arrested, and punished. Jane, as a blood born Rossathorn, wherein their family and generation were known to be great spies and investigators, let her curiosity about Antheia lead her to all those information. But now she faces a dead end. She was not able to find the reason or the cause as to why Antheia bears a similar mark to a blood born Rossathorn. Jane also investigated the members of the Rossathorn family if they have a c
Chapter 82 - The Pain of Losing A MateOnce the chief maid left the room and the doors closed, Jane spoke, “You have got a pretty tattoo right there.”“Huh?” Antheia reacted, not knowing yet what Jane was talking about.“Your tattoo, at the back of your shoulder, can I see it?” Jane said.Antheia turned her back to her and fixed her robe, pushing down a sleeve to reveal the back of her shoulder which held her birthmark as she said, “Oh, this one? It is not a tattoo. I do not know. I have had it since I was a kid and I noticed that it also grew as I grew up.”Jane had her eyes locked on the birthmark, she knows it because she has it too but it was just a very little mark on her, it was also fading and not very visible, however, on her sister Luna Elena, it was located at the side of her abdomen, very evident and larger, a symbol of the first born Rossathorn and a rightful successor of the pack. “It is pretty. Is it some sort of a birthmark?” Jane uttered.“Probably. I am not sure. I r
Chapter 81 - Red Laurel MarkingAntheia’s eyes graced the portraits decorating the walls of the corridor. She does not recognize any of them yet, until the last portrait adorned with gold frames, it was Luna Elena in her middle twenties when she was appointed to succeed the Rossathorn pack and became officially the Luna. “This is Luna Elena.” she guessed and Jane confirmed.“She is. She became the Luna that day and led the pack.” Jane replied.“I did not see the Alpha of Rossathorn Pack,” Antheia asked curiously.“He is gone. His name was Connor. He died from a disease, already more than a decade ago/” Jane replied.“Oh.” Antheia thought, and a realization came into her head, “They do not have children?” she asked as she remembered some gossip she heard at the hall earlier when some people around her were talking about Luna Elena not having a child, a successor, hence the elders of Rossathorn Pack are in disarray, deciding which among the close relatives, a blood born Rossathorn, wou
Chapter 80 - Meeting Her“So, are you going to meet her or not?” Jane uttered, pulling her sister Luna Elena out of her reverie. Luna Elena looked at her and asked, “Where was she from again?”“She is the mate of Raven Lanford from Kingston Pack.” Jane answered and Luna Elena just nodded lightly before Jane led the way among the crowd toward where Antheia was rooted.Antheia smiled when she saw the approaching Luna Elena and Jane.“Greetings to you, Luna Elena.” Antheia uttered with a warm smile which the former was not able to reciprocate for she was still baffled and surprised at the resemblance the young lady has with her features. Luna Elena did not speak nor acknowledge the greeting from Antheia, until Jane cleared her throat. “Oh thank you, dear. Are you enjoying the party?” Luna Elena asked.“Yes, yes. The desserts were really great, especially the strawberries and cheesecakes” Antheia replied. And when another bowl of strawberries was being served to the table, and refilling
Chapter 79 - Luna Elena; A Glimpse of Her Past“Yes, but not Crowden, that is Raven. Crowden was away, and we figured I was mistaken to be Crowden’s mate, so he said, I could just come here instead with Raven on his behalf.” Antheia explained, as instructed by her mate if anyone asks about them and the mix up.“Oh, that is fine. The two lead the Kingston Pack side by side anyway.” Jane said and took a sip from her wine as she looked around to look for her sister Luna Elena, hoping that she was already done talking to some people.“I’m sorry, may I ask where the restroom is?” Antheia asked when she felt her urinary bladder needed a relief.“Go straight to the right, there will be a door that will lead to the restrooms,” Jane replied, pointing behind Antheia the direction of the restroom.“Thank you.” Antheia placed down the saucer and was about to turn around but stopped when Jane added, “I will wait for you here, alright? I want you to meet Elena.” and the former just then nodded in r
