Chapter 26 – Do Not Push Him Away
Third Person POV
I was left in confusion and I do not know why I felt hurt a well that the Alpha left. I heard my wolf Fines whimpered at his disappearance.
~’Is he our mate? Did you know?’ I asked Fines.
~’I never knew what to call it but I felt his wolf, that he was something to me, that he was my missing puzzled, that whenever he is around I feel completed, like he was my other half, but I never knew the word to call it. But now I understand, we are mates. He is our mate, Antheia.’
~’But what if they are just lying?’
~’And why would they lie to us?’ Fines retorted and then she added ‘you can feel it Antheia. I know that you can feel it too. You can also feel the different pull we have to him.’
There was a knock on the door and my head looked at it
Chapter 27 – Never Been LovedAntheia’s POVI wanted to argue with Fines again but I chose not to. I know that we can feel it, that there is something pulling me towards the Alpha. I have always wondered why I felt different with him. And I had never knew what to call it, and now they are saying that it was because of the invisible string called the mate bond. The string weaved by the moon goddess for two destined werewolves to be mates, to be with each other, to love each other for the rest of their lives, their other half.Is he my other half as well? But what if they are just tricking me?~’Again what would they get from wasting their time in tricking you? Trust him, Antheia, for I know and I can feel it. I trust his wolf, I can feel him. Just… argh! Do not mess this up, I am going back to sleep now.’ Fines uttered I my headShe is right. But do we r
Chapter 28 - A BetrayalAntheia’s POVIt has been five days and the Alpha never talked to me again. Whenever I timed him in the dining eating and I approach him, he would avoid me. And I would be left on my own. In the past five days, the Alpha had been busy, maybe his duties since he was always out and I rarely saw him. when I figured that I must have ruining his appetite when I approach him in the kitchen while he was eating, I stopped going to him when he eats. I do not want him to go out there with an empty stomach. And aside from that encounter, I was not able to approach him anymore and instead, every morning, I would just watch him train the pack warriors and join them on the open ground of the pack house which is visible from the view from the window of my room. And since I had nothing to do, just like in the past few days, today, I remain inside my room and just read books, and Lea just comes up to
Chapter 29 – A Similar PunishmentAntheia’s POVI walked down the stairs and I could smell the waffle and maple syrup wafting my nose already. My stomach rumbled for I was not able to eat dinner last night due to the scene I have witnessed. I have already come into a conclusion and peace with myself. I did not spend talking to the moon, more like to myself, in midnight for nothing.I have decided to forget what I saw, forget about mates, forget about love, forget about the Alpha and just live my life normally, like a common werewolf, who does day to day jobs. No complications, no hard feelings.I know that it is impossible to change overnight, but I will do my best to change and it starts now. I am getting everything out of my system already for I want to start anew.“Good morning, Greta.” I greeted with a smile to the old cook when she came out from the dining area, holding a jar o
Chapter 30 – Nightmare of the PastAntheia’s POVAgain, just like in some other nights and for the past years I was held slaved, I was visited by the nightmare of my past.An eight year old me, locked up in cell, yes, in a cell not in my room basement, but in a cell in the dungeon of my father’s pack.I had committed a grave mistake, but was it that grave that a little kid me had to suffer such thing and be treated like a captive?I was accused of being a thief, of stealing my sister’s money, which I never did. I cleaned her room, and tidied her things and did my best as an eight year old to clean up my sister’s spilled milkshake in her carpeted floor and was splashed on some of her notebooks. I was eight and my sister was 13, the other was 11, and my brother was 14.My father threw me in the dungeon, where in other cells were frightening rogues, baring their fangs and
Chapter 31 – Not Worthy of an AlphaAntheia’s POVIt was just a flash of coldness until he sighed loudly.“Move to the side.” He uttered and I frowned in puzzlement, wiping my own tears and sniffing back the fluid attempting to run out from my nose.“Huh?”“I said moved to the side.” He gestured but I did not move. And thus he squeezed himself on the small space on the side nearer to him, and lay down.“Wh…what—““You sit there til the morning or you sleep, your choice, but I will sleep here.” The Alpha uttered and turned to me, burying his face to my side and wrapping his arm around my waist, and his thumb had got its way under the hem of my shirt and brushed my skin on that spot, and there it is again, the tingling sensation I always get from him whenever our skin make contact.“Alpha! I
Chapter 32 – Alpha Raven LanfordAntheia’s POVThe Alpha turned around and checked the food. He was silent. And his silence was scaring me, but above it, it is starting to break my heart again. How many times does it have to break until it completely goes numb and die? Is this not a repeated torture? He stirred the sauce and I could smell the aroma of it, making me drool more in starvation.Minutes after minutes had passedand he still did not speak.Did he come to a realization already? That I am truly not worthy of him, tht he deserves someone better, someone whom he can brag about, someone that he can show to the other Alphas, someone he can display around and be proud of.And I am not that person. The moon goddess might have made a mistake of pairing us two. She could have just paired me to someone with a lower rank instead, to a pack warrior, or to a commo
Chapter 33 – Moving to His RoomAntheia’s POVI woke up with a faint cluttering and shuffling of feet in my room, that no matter how much the people inside try to make their movements as silent as possible, my werewolf senses were still able to pick it up. I opened my eyes and the curtain was already open, shining my room with the morning sunlight, welcoming me as I stretched my legs.My gaze landed then at the source of the noise and there I saw the pack helpers, yes I call them helpers for I refuse to deem them as servants or slaves because in the first place, they are being treated right and with respect in this pack even though they are in the low rank. They were in my wardrobe, taking out my clothes, dresses, pants, shirts, and shoes, and some were moving out and in of my room. Panic immediately rushed in me and I sat up, thinking what they are doing, are they packing my things to throw me out?!
Chapter 34 – Hmm… F*ck?Antheia’s POVI was already getting bored of staying inside the pack house and I wanted to see the outside more and feel that I am really free, just feeling the breeze, the smell of soil and grasses, the chirping birds, I have been deprived of such freedom for years, as if I lived like a cave man who has not idea of the outside world, however, I was glad that I am not that ignorant, though there are things that I do not know, I still know some, and I am glad as well for one of the old servants of my father’s pack who had helped me and taught me some things as I grew up, but when I was eleven, she fell ill and died, leaving me then alone to figure things out on my own.We walked in in the forest, passing by some pack warriors, cleaning, training, patrolling, with the Alpha on my side since I asked him to take me out.Beta Lufin’s voice was heard from behind so
Chapter 87 – Her Home and BelovedThe Rossathorn Pack easily found Mindor and extracted the truth from him. He was the only remaining person alive who knew the truth from that night Luna Elena gave birth to the successor of Rossathorn. He revealed the truth, that it was Connor who ordered him to dispose of the child, but he kept her. However, despite the truth that he kept the child alive, the Rossathorn pack did not forgive him for the life he had given Antheia, the sufferings she had to endure at the hands of the alpha of Muggar pack. They let him live and his family, but in misery. They had become low workers of the pack, working in the fields and mountains owned by Rossathorns. The fate of Mindor and his pack had been known to Alpha Raven who had once put them in misery for what they did to Antheia. But he never found out the reason why. He assumed that Mindor had a great debt to pay to the Rossathorns, and Jane indeed had done a great job of keeping the truths from the public. No
Chapter 86 - DNA Match“Elena.” Luna Elena’s father, Arnold called to her but she was not listening. She had left him on her table for a few minutes while he sorted some papers to be passed to the advisors of the pack after her signature and approval of them. “Elena, I have been calling for you. What are you looking at?” Arnold looked out the window as well when he noticed the shaken expression of Luna Elena. And in an instant, his eyes narrowed at Antheia’s back and the bold red laurel marking on her back.“Who is she? She bears the Rossathorn’s mark. I do not recognize her being a part of our family.” Arnold said not being able to recognize Antheia since it was her back that was turned to him.“She is just a guest.” Luna Elena said.“No outsider of this family bears the same mark. Where is she from? Is it real or a tattoo to mimic the Rossathorn’s crest?” Arnold inquired, also surprised to see someone with the same mark. He remembers that his wife, Luna Elena’s mother also bore the
Chapter 85 - Revealed BirthmarkJane led the way to the backyard where Luna Elena was already waiting for them and watching over Jane’s kids and two of their nieces playing together. It was just the three of them, Jane, Luna Elena, and Antheia, because they did not want to attract unnecessary attention to the young lady which may cause an uproar of speculations especially since Antheia has a resemblance to the young Elena. They wanted to investigate quietly and even though it may seem rude and unright to investigate Antheia without her knowledge, they still chose to proceed without letting her know because they did not want to bother the young lady with their speculations. Not until they have proven and made a positive conclusion. As they settled down in their seats and enjoyed their tea and salads with some light chicken dishes, the conversation was light and was mainly about Rossathorn pack and how the once barren backyard turned into one that is filled with different kinds of flowe
Chapter 84 - Invite Her“Speculations,” Luna Elena uttered sighing even though she was considering the possibilities of the things that her sister Jane had said. She rested her back against her chair and stared at nowhere on her wooden table.“Then give me permission to prove it to you,” Jane said and Luna Elena looked at her.“Sister, you already went beyond without my permission and yet now you are asking for permission?” Luna Elena sarcastically smirked. “Just for formality.” Jane replied.“What do you need?” the Luna asked.“Invite her again here. For a cup of tea perhaps?” Jane suggested“Why?”“We need her DNA, Elena. That is the most guaranteed way to prove that she does not belong to our family, or if she does. You and her.” Jane said and the Luna was about to protest again but Jane already spoke first, cutting her off.“I am not trying to put your hopes up, Elena. It is just to make sure.”“Fine. Send her an invite.” Luna Elena said.“Got it.” Jane uttered feeling accomplish
Chapter 83 - Jane’s InvestigationJane told Luna Elena what she had learned about Antheia. She did her own research on Muggar Pack, the Alpha and Luna of the Muggar Pack that raised Antheia, and what happened to Antheia before she turned eighteen. She found out about Antheia being a daughter of a slut of the Alpha of Muggar Pack and that she lived like a servant to the Alpha’s family until she was disposed to the traders which placed her in the auction where Raven had found her, which then later after a few months, the traders and people behind the auction were arrested, and punished. Jane, as a blood born Rossathorn, wherein their family and generation were known to be great spies and investigators, let her curiosity about Antheia lead her to all those information. But now she faces a dead end. She was not able to find the reason or the cause as to why Antheia bears a similar mark to a blood born Rossathorn. Jane also investigated the members of the Rossathorn family if they have a c
Chapter 82 - The Pain of Losing A MateOnce the chief maid left the room and the doors closed, Jane spoke, “You have got a pretty tattoo right there.”“Huh?” Antheia reacted, not knowing yet what Jane was talking about.“Your tattoo, at the back of your shoulder, can I see it?” Jane said.Antheia turned her back to her and fixed her robe, pushing down a sleeve to reveal the back of her shoulder which held her birthmark as she said, “Oh, this one? It is not a tattoo. I do not know. I have had it since I was a kid and I noticed that it also grew as I grew up.”Jane had her eyes locked on the birthmark, she knows it because she has it too but it was just a very little mark on her, it was also fading and not very visible, however, on her sister Luna Elena, it was located at the side of her abdomen, very evident and larger, a symbol of the first born Rossathorn and a rightful successor of the pack. “It is pretty. Is it some sort of a birthmark?” Jane uttered.“Probably. I am not sure. I r
Chapter 81 - Red Laurel MarkingAntheia’s eyes graced the portraits decorating the walls of the corridor. She does not recognize any of them yet, until the last portrait adorned with gold frames, it was Luna Elena in her middle twenties when she was appointed to succeed the Rossathorn pack and became officially the Luna. “This is Luna Elena.” she guessed and Jane confirmed.“She is. She became the Luna that day and led the pack.” Jane replied.“I did not see the Alpha of Rossathorn Pack,” Antheia asked curiously.“He is gone. His name was Connor. He died from a disease, already more than a decade ago/” Jane replied.“Oh.” Antheia thought, and a realization came into her head, “They do not have children?” she asked as she remembered some gossip she heard at the hall earlier when some people around her were talking about Luna Elena not having a child, a successor, hence the elders of Rossathorn Pack are in disarray, deciding which among the close relatives, a blood born Rossathorn, wou
Chapter 80 - Meeting Her“So, are you going to meet her or not?” Jane uttered, pulling her sister Luna Elena out of her reverie. Luna Elena looked at her and asked, “Where was she from again?”“She is the mate of Raven Lanford from Kingston Pack.” Jane answered and Luna Elena just nodded lightly before Jane led the way among the crowd toward where Antheia was rooted.Antheia smiled when she saw the approaching Luna Elena and Jane.“Greetings to you, Luna Elena.” Antheia uttered with a warm smile which the former was not able to reciprocate for she was still baffled and surprised at the resemblance the young lady has with her features. Luna Elena did not speak nor acknowledge the greeting from Antheia, until Jane cleared her throat. “Oh thank you, dear. Are you enjoying the party?” Luna Elena asked.“Yes, yes. The desserts were really great, especially the strawberries and cheesecakes” Antheia replied. And when another bowl of strawberries was being served to the table, and refilling
Chapter 79 - Luna Elena; A Glimpse of Her Past“Yes, but not Crowden, that is Raven. Crowden was away, and we figured I was mistaken to be Crowden’s mate, so he said, I could just come here instead with Raven on his behalf.” Antheia explained, as instructed by her mate if anyone asks about them and the mix up.“Oh, that is fine. The two lead the Kingston Pack side by side anyway.” Jane said and took a sip from her wine as she looked around to look for her sister Luna Elena, hoping that she was already done talking to some people.“I’m sorry, may I ask where the restroom is?” Antheia asked when she felt her urinary bladder needed a relief.“Go straight to the right, there will be a door that will lead to the restrooms,” Jane replied, pointing behind Antheia the direction of the restroom.“Thank you.” Antheia placed down the saucer and was about to turn around but stopped when Jane added, “I will wait for you here, alright? I want you to meet Elena.” and the former just then nodded in r
