Phoenix
Everything's a mess.
The pack house got burnt. Clover is mad at me. And my wolf won't speak to me. It's all my fault.
" How about you start from the bigger issue?"" Fixing the pack house?" I asked her.
I received a slap at the back of my head, " Ow!" I mumbled and rubbed the aching spot. Aunt Renee sighed, " Your mate is more important than fixing a six-day job". " oh" was all I said and looked up at the colourful sky.
Hues of red, orange, yellow, pink and purple painted the clouds as they accompanied the setting sun. Birds flew by as they returned to their nests. The view of the sun set was amazing.
Looking away from the alluring colours, I sighed , " what should I do? I've been messing up right from the b
CLOVER" Phoenix. Help me" I said and dragged my body up to my feet. I staggered and almost fell but I stabled myself by holding onto my bedside table.Phoenix stood frozen in the same spot. His eyes followed my every move and his body tensed. Why is he just standing there? Won't he help me? I asked myself as I made my way towards him." Clover"" Won't you help me? I'm your mate" I found myself saying. I reached out to touch him, but he took a step back. My heart broke, " You...don't want...me?" I asked bitterly.PHOENIX"You...don't want...me?" I saw pain in her eyes, but I had to hold back. My wolf was clawing and growling at my mind. It was getting harder to stay in control, especially now that I was wrapp
CLOVERMy fingers and toes were starting to prune from how long I've been standing under the shower. I reached up and scratched the mark on my neck.Normally, when a wolf is marked willingly by his/ her mate, the mark would heal and it makes the individual feel nice. But since mine was forced, it's itchy and painful.I growled, and slammed my fist against the wall angrily. I turned off the shower and got out. I grabbed my towel and wrapped it tightly around my body. I left the bathroom and went to my closet. I put on some sweatpants and a big turtle neck sweater, to cover the mark. Then I dried my hair and went downstairs. As I approached the last step, I heard two familiar voices coming from the living room. One was loud and chirpy, while the other was c
" Phoenix.... Phoenix?" I whispered in his ear. He groaned and went back to sleep. 'Great. Now I can leave ' I thought as I quietly snuck out of the bed and replaced myself with my pillow. Then I left the room and snuck down the stairs towards the front door.I had a lot of questions and I needed answers. Those two are the only ones who can help me.Once I was outside, I let go of the breath I had been holding. I looked around the white covered ground, " Damn. That's a lot of snow" I muttered and stuffed my fingers into my warm pockets.I tried to be as quiet as possible as I headed towards the dungeons. The darkness of the night helped me camouflage and become one with nature. I didn't want to alert the warriors on patrol.Soon, I was at my
PhoenixA sigh escaped my lips as my eyes wandered to the clock. Clover has been in her room for hours now. I get the reason anyway. Who wouldn't be perplexed and confused about such a news. But....None of this was making any sense! How could it be that someone, who fell off a cliff and died, is suddenly alive? It doesn't make sense.According to what Clover told me, the cliff was really high up, no living thing can survive it.Maybe it's a miracle. Maybe the moon goddess didn't want her dead...Be real...she's not that gracious...True...or what if mates mother never actually fell? What if she was saved? Or what if that Alpha already had a plan?...Think about it...
This week has been so hectic. We are planning the silver moon festival and it's been a disaster. Why?... because as the luna, I have failed to get the job right.I literally destroyed the plan and now nobody trusts me. I felt worthless when Aunt Renee said I should just leave it to the pack members. I knew she meant no harm, but...I sighed, " This isn't for me" I mumbled and buried my face into the pillow.Knock. Knock.I groaned, " Go away" I said and hoped the intruder got the message. The person knocked again, " I said go away. Don't you understand?" I snapped. The other side became quiet. I guess the person left.Suddenly
LANDONI was seating on the ground in a clearing, I watched the birds and the squirrels return to their trees and nests. The sun was setting in the distance and so my surroundings became quiet. I hadn't gone home since yesterday. I dug my fingers into the thin layered snow. The cold days had come.I stared up at the sky and sighed, " what am I to do?" I asked myself. Flashes of yesterday's event invade my thoughts and I quickly grow frustrated.Go home to mate...My wolf answers my question quietly. I scoffed at the suggestion, " And do what? She doesn't want to see me...or have you forgotten?" I asked him. He whimpers and crawls to the back of my mind.Everything was going so well until yesterday. She was starting to open up to me about her worries, we were final
The silver moon festival was tomorrow and the day of my departure was the day after. I know it seems like we're rushing, but we need to move fast.Phoenix had called for a meeting at the pack house dinning area. My eyes shifted around the table as everyone took their seats. By everyone I mean, Tobias, Landon, Trevor and Felix. The last two looked like they wanted to be anywhere but here. I wouldn't wonder why, since Phoenix won't stop glaring at them, Trevor especially.Remember that I told Phoenix about him and Giselle being mates. I'd managed to stop him from ripping the poor guy apart, but that wouldn't stop him from wishing he could. I chuckled and placed my hand over his clenched fist, " stop it" I whispered to him. Phoenix scoffed and entwined our fingers, " Can't I just strangle them a little?" He asked loud enough for the two men to back away in fear.I rolled my eyes and turned
**********************************We've been walking for like thirty minutes and Phoenix hasn't said a word to me. I could feel his uneasiness and I could tell that he wasn't in the mood to talk, so I respected his silent decision and followed quietly.I wonder where mate is taking us...Me too...His wolf doesn't want to tell me...I think we should let him be...I told her and glanced at his hand, buried deep in the pocket of his coat, playing with his cigarette lighter. It's a miracle that he hasn't been burned yet. Finally, we got to a small clearing with a cabin standing in the middle beside a tall oak tree. Although the cabin looked old and was covered in vines, it still had the power to falter my steps and stare in awe.It looked like something out of a fairytal
WARNING: MENTIONS OF SUICIDE. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN VOLITION.CLOVERAfter Phoenix woke up, the whole pack was relaxed again. We even had a feast that very night. Everything felt so right once more. That night, when everybody had retired to their respective homes, Phoenix and I laid awake in bed, cuddling and talking about everything and anything, “ That’s not true, I wasn’t worried about your safety, I was worried about the rogues you might have come across” Phoenix said and I scoffed, “ Don’t overestimate me. I’m not that strong, you’re the only thing that kept me going” I joked. He grimaced, “ That was so fucking cheesy, I almost barfed” “ You love me cheesy” I replied, while wiggling my brows at him, and he laughed, “ The hell?! That was even worse”.I smiled at him, “ You really scared me though” I said, “ I was asleep” he said with an eye roll. I bit his chest, “ Well I think I’m now traumatized by you just going to sleep. You’re not allowed to close your eyes ever again” I j
CLOVERAs soon as we got to the pack hospital, Phoenix was placed on a pre-prepared stretcher and taken to the ER. Danny sat quietly in the hallway while I paced back and forth, “ Sit down Clover. You’re making me nauseous” He mumbled. The sound of approaching footsteps made me stop. Aunt Renee and Doe crushed me in a warm hug, “I’m so glad you’re safe” Aunt Ree said, but then her eyes fell on my neck, “ Oh my-you’re bleeding! Doctor!-“ “ Forget it. She won’t go with them” Danny said from his seat and all eyes fell on him. “ Hello, you must be Clover’s brother. I’m Doe” Doe smiled and stretched her hand to him, which he shook to my surprise, “ Daniel” he said and smiled back. I raised my brow at him, “ Wow, look at you being all polite” I mocked, “ Well she’s pretty” he answered and winked at Doe. An arm circled Doe’s waist, “ And taken” Tobias said with a warning look. He had bandages running from over his left shoulder to his torso, but he was fine. Danny smiled in amusement, “ Ju
CLOVER Danny was right. Moping was not going to solve our problems. Those things had already happened, and there was nothing I could do about it. After crying for a while, I wiped my tears and said, “ You’re right. I’m sorry…I was just….”, Danny sighed,“ I get it. We just have to get out of here fast” he said. That being said, I looked around the cell and suddenly had a sense of de ja vu, “ These walls look like they’ve been standing for decades, maybe there’s a weak spot” I mumbled. I felt around the wall for something, anything. When I felt around the walls near Danny, some stones crumbled under my finger. Danny came to stand beside me and eyed the spot too. As I was about to tell him the next plan, someone knocked on our cell bar. We froze in place, “ Shit…” Danny cursed under his breath and we turned around, only to find that it was the weird guard from before. He was looking everywhere, as if to check of anyone was coming, before he opened the door and walked straight to me.
MILLICENT Something strange is happening up above us. Ever since this morning there had been a lot of howling. Sad, mournful howls. Like something bad had happened. When wolves howl like that, it usually signifies the death of a ruler.I’ve also been having this bad feeling in my gut. I haven’t been able to sit still, and I don’t know how to calm the others with me. I know Clover isn’t dead, because if she was, we would have felt it. I just feel like she’s in grave danger.“ When is Alpha Phoenix gonna get here?”, One of them asked, “ I don’t know”,I replied anxiously. This has been the question for the past two-three days? I’m not even sure how long we’ve been here. “ I don’t think that girl got to the pack” “ How do you know that?”“ If she had reached the pack, we wouldn’t be here by now!” “ Can you just wait? I’m sure Alpha Phoenix is on his way……right?”“ He has abandoned us! We’re doomed”“ How can you say that about your own Alpha?!”“ If we weren’t abandoned, then why have
WARNING: MENTIONS OF MURDER AND SUICIDE. PHOENIX“ What are we going to do?” Tobias asked after Landon relayed the information to him, “ Prepare the warriors, we’re going to snowfall pack…” I simply said. Tobias frowned, “ Warriors? Are you planning to start a war?” He asked. I leaned back in my chair, trying to keep my wolf calm, “ If need be” I replied. Landon nodded and went for the door, “…I think you’re being a bit too rash? I mean, we can just try to talk it out first before taking any actions, right?” He asked.LANDONAs soon as Tobias spat those words out, the air in the office grew cold. My whole body went completely still. A feeling I haven’t had in a while. My wolf shrank to the farthest part of my mind and I involuntarily bowed my head. “ I’m being rash?” Phoenix asked coldly, not even hiding the bloodlust seeping out of him. He got up and walked towards Tobias, “ You think I’m being rash…You’re acting like you don’t know what’ll happen to Clover if she spends another t
ALEXIAWhen I opened my eyes, I was greeted by the white ceiling of the pack hospital, and the smell of antiseptic. My throat felt dry, “ Water” I choked out. Someone immediately rushed to my side and a cup was pressed against my lips. I greedily gulped down the whole cup. “How are you feeling?” Someone asked on my left. I looked up and realized it was Alpha Phoenix, and the person who gave me water was Gamma Landon. I blinked several times, “ I-I’m fine. Alpha Phoenix…” I paused as my brain did a full reset, “Luna Clover…” “ Hey. You must be hungry. Eat first, then you can talk” he said and passed a bowl of food to me.It took me seconds before the bowl was empty. I drank some water and began talking, “ Luna followed her brother to another pack. I heard some guards saying that, that was were their mother is” “ Okay. What about the remaining pack members?” Alpha Phoenix asked. “ They’re fine, at least. We planned to escape together, but they got caught. Those rogues won’t hurt them,
ALEXIAI don’t know how long I’d been running. I think two nights passed before I got to the border of our pack. The joy that filled my soul was unexplainable. But my legs gave out from fatigue. My body ached from running non-stop. The guards at the border quickly ran to me. My vision blurred, “ Gamma! One of the pack warriors just arrived at the border”someone shouted. Someone grabbed my hand, “ Hey what happened? Where are the others?” His voice was desperate. I held his hand, “ Help…East…Luna…Trouble” I gasped out before it went completely dark.*******PHOENIX I was in my office doing some paperwork when my door flew open and one of the warriors barged in, “ What the hell?-“ “ One of the park members has returned, alpha!” He announced. From the tone of his voice, something was off. My heart began to race as I rushed to the pack hospital.Goddess, what happened to Clover? Please let her be okay. Please. On getting to the hospital, I rushed to the ward. Landon was already there,
We walked for almost eight hours before Danny told us to rest. We were a total of seven including my brother, elder Simon, four guards and myself.Danny and elder Simon went aside to talk about goddess knows what while the guards set up two tents. I knew I wasn’t going to have a tent, so I found a comfortable tree to rest up on. My mind wandered off as I stared up at the branches and trees swaying gently with wind. I wondered what Phoenix was doing at the moment. Was he busy tending to the pack matters? Of course he was, certainly. Did he miss me as well?….I suddenly felt restless. In my chest there was an uncomfortable feeling and I pat on it to ease myself. ‘ It’s because we’re far away from him…Don’t worry it’s just for a while’ My wolf said, trying to comfort me.Barely had time to answer before something landed on my lap. I winced and looked in the direction it was thrown from. The guards were sitting on a log not far from me, snickering and throwing mocking glances my way. I
Third person’s POVA man’s silhouette stood behind a tree. His features were not prominent because the moon light was blocked by the trees. Elder Simon treaded quietly towards the man, “ Sorry for the wait, that lad wouldn’t let me leave” He said and lowered his head to the man.The man in the shadows scoffed, “ Its because of your suspicious behavior that he now has his eyes on you. Anyway, why did you send for me?” He asked. Elder Simon looked around before saying, “ That murderer has returned. And they’ve found the whereabouts of their mother. He plans to leave tomorrow at dawn. Tell Alpha Charles our plan is falling into place” he told the other man who bowed and vanished immediately after.*******CLOVERIt was almost dawn when I was awoken by hushed mumbling and shuffling above me. They were having a furious debate between themselves. Before I could listen in on their conversation, they both became quiet. I slowly sat back on the ground and pretended to be asleep. There was a lo
