Third person’s POV

Xavier woke up the following morning to an empty bed but Olympia wasn’t in bed anymore. His first thought was that she had woken up earlier to prepare for their journey back to his Kingdom where they were going to start a new life but when he got out of bed and searched for her, he couldn’t find her anywhere.

He searched frantically for her but she was still nowhere to be found. He paused for a while to wonder where she could be and a wild thought crossed his mind.

Perhaps, Silas sent men to abduct her in the middle of the night while we slept, he thought.

He got dressed and stormed out of the room, making his way to Silas’s home. When he got there, he tried to make his way through to confront Silas but Silas’s men refused him entrance. It was at that point that Silas stepped out.

“What’s this noise so early in the morning?” He asked but immediately he saw Xavier, confusion spread out on his face.

“Xavier? What are you doing here? You already took my mate with

OLYMPIA’S POV “Come live with me,” she said.“Why would you do that? You don’t even know me,” I said, confused.Lola chuckled before replying, “I don’t need to know who you are before I help out. You need help and I have the resources to help. That’s why I’m offering you a place to stay. Also, I think we’d be very good friends.”I looked at her face and she had a smile etched on it. She looked like a really nice person and a harmless one at that. It would be rude of me to reject her offer. “But I really don’t want to impose on you,” I said.“And who said anything about you imposing? You’re not imposing at all. I really want to do this. Well, I’m not trying to force you to accept my offer but I really would be happy if you accepted it,” Lola said. I looked up at her with a smile. I guess it’s not a bad idea. After all, I’ve not gotten a place for the night yet, I thought. “Fine, I’ll take you up on your offer,” I said and a bright smile exploded on her face. She hugged me in exc

Xavier’s POV(Back at the Lycan Territory)“Xavier, it’s been six years since she went missing. Why don’t you give up?” one of the elders of my pack said.“You don’t tell me what to do, Elder Wade. I will not stop searching until she’s found. So, get used to it,” I replied.“So, what if she’s never found? Or you find her and she’s already dead?” Elder Moore said.I turned to look at him, rage burning in my eyes.“Don’t you ever make such a statement again, Elder Moore. And I’m saying this to everyone else. Anyone who isn’t comfortable with me searching for Olympia can leave but I’ll keep searching for her and that’s final,” I said, scanning the room.By the look on their faces, the elders weren’t pleased with my decision but unfortunately for them, I am the Lycan King and what I say stands. I dismissed them before walking out of the throne room. Back in my room, I couldn’t help but wonder if Olympia would ever be found.Since she mysteriously disappeared 6 years ago, I’d been searchin

Olympia’s POV Lola, Zayn and I were having breakfast one Saturday when Zayn suddenly asked,“Momma, where’s my Dada?”Lola and I exchanged glances, as I wondered why Zayn was suddenly coming up with such a question.“Zayn baby, where did you hear that from?” Lola asked him.He turned to look at her and replied,“My friends at school have daddies that take them out for fun. Why don’t I have a daddy like that?” he replied.Lola and I exchanged glances one more time. Both of us had no idea what to say to him. My mind raced as I struggled to look for the best answer to give him. What’s the best way to explain to my 6-year old son why his father is absent in his life? I began to feel hot and confused. Lola must have noticed my uncomfortable state because she turned to Zayn with a smile on her face and asked, “Hey buddy, would you like to go to the park with me?”Zayn, immediately forgetting the question he had asked earlier, turned to face her in excitement and nodded his head happily.

Olympia’s POVMy heart sank as my eyes remained fixated to the envelope in his hand. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t speak. I just stood, frozen.“Olympia, should we order pizza tonight or…” Lola was saying and then trailed off.“Olympia, what’s wrong?” she asked me but I didn’t answer, she turned to look at Zayn and then she saw it.“Is that…” she trailed off again.“Who gave you that, Buddy?” she asked Zayn.“I was playing outside with my ball and a man gave me this. He asked me to give it to mummy,” Zayn replied.Lola took the envelope from Zayn and asked him to go up to his room. Immediately he was out of sight, she approached me and helped me sit back down on the couch.“Olympia, here is another letter and I’m sure it says the same thing as the others you’ve received. Why don’t you change your mind and go to the Lycans territory? This message could be coming in repeatedly for a reason. Perhaps someone out there is trying to tell you something. Who knows? Olympia’s POV“This is your plan?” I asked Lola as we stood in front of the building.“Uh-huh,” she replied. “Lola, we’re supposed to be in hiding, remember. Xavier cannot know that I’m in his territory and working as a healer in his territory’s hospital is going to put me in the spotlight. Besides, why would you think about me working here?” I said to her.“What’s wrong with you working here? Girl, you’re one of the best healers I have ever seen. All those times you healed Zayn and I whenever we had a bruise or fell ill is enough experience you need. I still don’t know why you refused to apply for a healer’s position at our former territory’s hospital. By now, you probably would have been made healer,” she said.“Fine, you’ve said enough but what if Xavier sees me here?” I asked. “No, he wouldn’t. I already asked a friend who works here and she said the Lycan King rarely comes to the hospital. The healers go to him in the palace whenever he needs to be treated. So, you have nothing

Olympia's POV I froze, not knowing what to reply. His piercing gaze was still fixated on me, making me believe they were capable of reaching into my soul. “I'm…I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. It's just…” I was saying until I got cut short by Head Healer Ryder. “Are you kidding me? That was incredible” he said, his voice dripping of admiration and praise. I looked at him with a shocked expression and said, “Really?” “Of course. Your healing abilities are impeccable,” he answered. I stood still, dumbfounded as I watched the man who had not long ago scorned my qualifications, now singing my praises. “Told you she's good,” Lola said to him, beaming from ear to ear. “And I should have believed you,” he replied. Then turning to face me, he said, “I'm sorry for underestimating you earlier. It's just that we've had many people come in to apply for positions like this and they don't have any experiences and qualifications and when we give them a chance, they mess u

  • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 12

Olympia's POV The following morning, I woke up very early, feeling both nervous and excited at the same time. I was eager to begin my first official day as a healer in the hospital. I had just finished dressing up in the blue uniform that was delivered to the house the previous night when Zayn ran into the room. “Wow Mommy, you look so beautiful,” he exclaimed. “Aww thank you baby,” I replied. “I'm so excited,” he said. “And why’s that, baby?” I asked him. “Aunty Lola said you will be saving lives. I can't wait to tell everyone that my Mommy is a lifesaver,” he said. I felt my heart warm up when he said this. This meant he was proud of me as his mother. I pulled him in for a hug. “Aww baby, mummy is so happy to hear that. Don't worry, I'll do my best to save as many lives as possible, okay?” I said to him and he nodded in excitement. I looked at myself in the mirror one last time to ensure that I wasn't missing anything before grabbing my back and leaving the room. W

Olympia's POV “Those bitches. Why would they treat you that way? I bet they are jealous because you are more beautiful than they are,” Lola said angrily. I simply chuckled at her reaction. We were sitting down to a late dinner, catching up on my first day of work. I had arrived home about an hour ago and Lola insisted we had dinner together. Her statement erupted after telling her about my encounter with the other nurses at the hospital.“Well, I don't blame them. I guess they're just scared of having a new person around. I believe they will adjust with time,” I said.“Whatever. Anyways, How's he?” Lola asked, wiggling her brows.I held a confused expression in my face as I asked,“How's who?”“C'mon girl, you know who I'm talking about,” she said.I rolled my eyes, chuckling.“You mean Head Healer Ryder?” I asked. “Uh-huh,” she answered with a smirk on her face.I blushed while shaking my head, “Lola stop please. • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 38

Olympia's POVThe moment we returned to the pack territory, there was a palpable sense of relief. Each step toward Alpha Xavier’s quarters carried a weight of triumph, yet beneath it all, a strange tension gnawed at me—a feeling I could not explain.Ryder walked beside me with his arm occasionally brushing against mine. The contact kept sending a jolt of awareness through my body every time it happened. His eyes moved around while constantly scanning the surroundings with a sharp focus, prepared as if he expected danger to spring out at any fucking moment."Do you feel it?" I asked him softly with my voice barely audible over the sound of the crunch of leaves beneath our boots."Feel what?" Ryder turned to me, his tone quiet but alert.I hesitated before answering. "Something feels wrong. I cannot quite put my finger on it, but it feels like... we are being watched."He stopped quite abruptly and then turned to face me fully. His piercing gaze locked onto mine sharply and for a moment

“Ollie, let us go home.” Ryder's voice came to me as I felt his hands on my dark hair. He caressed it in smooth long strokes. I opened my eyes to look at him. I could see the amount of sleep ladened inside of them.“Are you ready?” I asked him as my eyes scanned the environment. He nodded as he took my hands and helped me up to my feet.“Yes we are. Let us begin to head back after all of this Ollie,” I said to her with a smile. “The Alpha and the pack need to know that the water supply is finally safe.”There was a moment of quiet before Prince Troy and the others emerged from the trees, their expressions were a mixture of relief and awe.“Thank you so much, Ollie,” Prince Troy said to me. His voice was filled with genuine gratitude. His eyes which were once clouded with worry now shone with genuine hope.I smiled faintly at him but on the inside my emotions were still a whirlwind. I had done what I had to do, but at what cost? I remembered the look in Xavier's eyes when he had looke

  • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 36

Ryder's PovThe lake was glowing deceptively in the soft morning sunlight. The surface of the water was calm, but there was an unnatural gleam to it, a dull silvery haze that twisted and coiled around it as if it was a living thing, alive.“What on earth is that?” Ollie asked me in a quiet voice though I could hear the unease and fright behind her soft tone.“That is the source of the infection, the water supply,” I replied grimly, my eyes scanning the area. “No, not that. I can see that it is the water supply. I mean, what is that thing surrounding it?"“That is the sorcery Ollie. There is some form of dark magic here. And we really need to act fast.”She nodded and reached into her pouch before pulling out the vial that held the coloured cure. The light glinted off the glass vial and the golden liquid within was kind of a stark contrast to the ominous hue that the water supply had.“How much should we use to reset all of this?” she asked me in a slightly trembling voice. I stared a

  • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 35

Olympia's pov As we prepared to leave, the weight of what we needed to do was palpable, quite heavy in the tensed air. The battle we had won was only a small victory in a much larger war, and the virus that had threatened our pack still lurked in the shadows. The journey to cure the water supply was our next step in this fight that was crucial. We were at the gates of the palace, where the sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows on the ground. The air felt heavy like the calm before a storm. Ryder stood beside me with his gaze steady and unwavering. There was a silent strength that I relied on in him far more than I cared to admit. Prince Troy stood with his men, instructing them as they prepared the last things for our departure."Everything would be fine," I assured Ryder the moment he took my hands in his and squeezed tightly. H smiled and nodded at me."It will be," he said looking into my eyes beneath my mask. Suddenly the sound of footsteps echoed behind us. I turned

  • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 34

Olympia's POVEverything had been a success. The Alpha's recovery brought a lot of relief to us and the pack members. But this was not the time to celebrate because we still had a lot to do. There were people with the virus running around, infected and the main water supply which was the prime source of the infection was still infected with the virus. After a talk with Ryder, we planned on how we would prepare ourselves for the journey and move to the water body. We have been going on a lot of adventures recently."When we get there, we will figure out how to cleanse the water. The antidote will purge it in some way I guess," I said with hope. Ryder and I exchanged a brief glance at this and he nodded. A silent agreement that tis was definitely not yet over passed between the both of us."Let us leave now. There is still a lot to be done you all," Ryder said. There was exhaustion in his hands yes and his shaky tone gave it away though hardness was etched into his face. I could stil

Olympia's POV I turned back to face the inscription on the wall and studied the writing. The words seemed to dance before my eyes, but I focused on the pattern."Ryder, I think I see it," I whispered. "The riddle is a poem."Ryder leaned in, his breath warm against my ear. "What does it say?"I recited the poem, my voice steady:"Where shadows fall, light risesIn darkness lies the key to mightSeek the heart of the crystal's fireAnd claim the essence, your hearts' desire"The wolf nodded, its eyes gleaming. "You have solved the riddle."The pedestal began to glow brighter, and the Essence of the Starlight Crystal rose into the air.Ryder's eyes locked onto mine. "You did it, Ollie."“No Ryder, we did it,” I said to him, feeling a surge of triumph rush through me. The wolf approached us, its massive form looming.“Congratulations. You can have the Crystal. You earned it but make sure you use it wisely or there might be repercussions,” it said.“Yes we will. Thank you so much,”

  • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 32

Olympia's POV Very early the next morning, Ryder, the team and I set out to find the next item on our list: the Leaves of the Moonlit Tree. We walked deeper into the forest, watching the trees grow taller, their branches getting twisted. Finally, we reached a clearing, and in the center, there was a big tree. On it were dried leaves.I frowned in confusion as I looked at the tree. Could this be the tree we've been searching for? I wondered Just then, I remembered what the Moon goddess said to me in the dream.Leaves of the Moonlit tree only bloomed under the light of the full moon."This must be the Moonlit Tree," I whispered, awe-struck.Ryder looked confused as well, his eyes scanning the area.“But why do the trees look dried up? Are we late?” He asked. Then I explained to him what the Moon goddess said to him. “We just have to wait until the moon comes out before we can access the leaves,” I said and he simply nodded. We spoke to the team before we sat down and rested under

  • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 31

Olympia's POV I sat up with a start, my heart racing. The dream felt so real. I could still see the Moon Goddess's ethereal light and feel the urgency in her voice.I quickly scribbled down the recipe on a piece of paper, fearing I might forget. Sacred flowers of Lycania.Leaves of the Moonlit Tree. Essence of the Starlight Crystal.Could this be the breakthrough we needed?I rushed out of the lab, determined to gather the ingredients. The hospital's storage room might have some of these plants, but I knew I'd have to venture into the forest for the rest.On getting to the hospital's storage, I realized we didn't have any of these ingredients in the storage. That means that we would have to get it in the morning. For the rest of that night, I was too nervous to sleep. The following morning, immediately Ryder came into the hospital, I went into his office.“There's my girlfriend!” he said.He got up and tried walking towards me.Probably to kiss me but we had more important things

  • His Regret, My Escape   Chapter 30

Olympia's POV My eyes widened in shock at Ryder's words.“Are you sure? What if you're mistaken?” I asked. He turned to look at me and said,“That's the only reasonable explanation for this. If he was fine all throughout yesterday and even after eating his dinner last night, then it only means he got infected through his meal. We need to interrogate the maid who prepared his meal.”Prince Troy interrupted, looking like he had just remembered something.“Head Healer Ryder could be right. Last night, I couldn't have dinner because I didn't feel like it. Maybe that's why I'm not infected,” he said.I felt a chill run down my spine. A traitor in the pack? Who could it be? I wondered.Ryder's expression turned grim. "We need to investigate immediately. Prince Troy, can you have the maid brought here for questioning?"Prince Troy nodded. Then he turned to one of the guards in the room and whispered something into his ear.The guard nodded and walked out of the room.I turned back to look
