_Leslie's POV_

A low growl rumbled in the back of my throat as I let out a frustrated sigh. "After everything he put me through, he still showed up at my door expecting me to... what? Forgive him? Forget everything he did to me. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck no." Leaning against the wall, a wave of memories came crashing down on me.

I recalled the pain, the heartache, and the betrayal. Nathan's face haunted me, his piercing eyes and charming smile now a distant memory. My mind wandered back to the day I left, the day my world shattered into a million pieces.

"I can't allow history to repeat itself," I whispered to myself, with my voice trembling. "I won't let him disrupt my life again. Oh, moon goddess, why me? Why fucking me?" The desperation in my voice echoed through the empty hallway.

Still tense, a burst of ideas racing through my head, I knew I had to act fast. I couldn't let alpha Nathan get close to me or my son Marcus again. The mere thought sent a shiver down my spine. I quickly picked up my phone and searched for a number.

...ring...ring...ring

The person on the other end picked up the phone.

"Hello," the sound echoed from my phone.

"Hello, Mr. Miller," I said, trying to compose myself. "I would like to inform you that I would like a security upgrade. Better surveillance... ehh—everything in the estate, effective immediately. I don't want anyone getting past my gate without me knowing."

“Alright Mrs Leslie” said Mr Miller. “ I will equip your home with our latest state of the art technology. No one would get past your gate without you knowing.”

Mr. Miller assured me he would take care of everything immediately. I hung up, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. But as I turned to head back inside, a nagging sense of unease lingered in the back of my mind.

I wondered if the added security would be enough to keep Nathan at bay. Did I actually do enough? The doubts crept in, making me question my decision. I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the present. For now, I had to ensure my son's safety.

The next day, the new guards arrived. They were all briefed about alpha Nathan and how they were to do everything in their power to keep him out of the house. I watched from the balcony, observing the guards as they took their positions.

Despite the added protection, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Nathan was still a threat. I tried to focus on my daily routine, spending time with Marcus and attending to my business. But the memory of Nathan's visit lingered, making me jumpy and on edge.

Five days passed, and I was starting to feel a sense of normalcy return. I was working in my home office, trying to catch up on some paperwork, when I heard a conversation coming from the garden. I looked out the window, and my heart sank.

Nathan was standing by the garden gate, talking to Marcus. Marcus was laughing and chatting with Nathan, oblivious to the danger that stood before him. My instincts kicked in and I rushed out of my office, my heart racing with fear.

As I approached the garden gate, Nathan turned to face me, a charming smile spreading across his face, “he had always had a charming smile.” I said to myself

"Leslie, darling, I'm not here to cause any trouble. I just wanted to see you," he said, his eyes locked on mine.

My anger boiled over. "You have no right to be here. You have no right to talk to my son. Leave now, before my guards arrive they have been notified of your presence."

Nathan's smile flattened, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of something else in his eyes. Something sad.

"Leslie, please.” He said “I don’t care about what happened between us, I don't care that you met someone new or that you slept with him and had a child. I just want you back, please Les, please."

My eyes narrowed as a burst of mixed emotions went down my spine and I finally exploded. "You think I'd ever go back to you? After everything you did to me? You're delusional, Nathan."

As my guards approached, responding to my earlier command he got down on his knees begging me to take him back. I couldn’t help it, his eyes were filled with regret but I had to be strong for my son. I can’t let him back into my life after everything he did."Take this man out of my sight.” I said. “Don't let him anywhere near my estate."

Nathan's face twisted in anger and sadness, but he knew he was beaten. For now. "Fine, I'll leave." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me shaken and on edge.

As I watched Nathan disappear and become a distant figure, a sense of unease settled in the pit of my stomach. I knew that this wasn't the end of the story, not by a long shot.
