AUBURON I freeze as I watch Liani rush over to my father. I can’t believe this is happening again. Carro whines in my head at the sight of our father. I can feel the anger brewing inside of me, as everyone zips past me in a hurry. I didn’t even realize Liani’s mom had come in. “Auburon!” “Auburon!!” “AUBURON!” Liani roars shaking me out of my thoughts. “Hmm?” I reply, trying to grasp everything that’s going on. I feel like I’m in one of those movies where something happens to the main character and everything is just a blur. “I need you to help move your dad to the circle we made on the floor,” she says. I look to my left and see that there is a circle made of salt and candles on the floor with a huge symbol in the middle. I also see four mirrors around the circle. AUBURON “Lay down,” she says. So, I do. I lay face down on my stomach while resting my head on my arms. It feels weird but nice to lay bare on the bed with my mate. LIANI As soon as we walked onto the open field, I felt a shift in energy. It was heavy, dark, and absolutely sickening. I looked at Auburon and could tell that he was feeling this too, so I immediately placed my hand over his head to try to set up some sort of boundary with the dark magic. My mother and grandma followed suit. When the seven women appeared before us, I took a look at all of their auras. Surprisingly, all of them weren’t completely tainted with dark magic. It wasn’t until my eyes fell on a woman with long black hair and tan skin that I realized she was Shannara. Her eyes were also dark, almost as if there was no life behind them. “Hello Liani, Auburon,” she says. She didn’t even bother acknowledging the King, or my family. That sort of pissed me off. LIANI The next two days Auburon and I spent figuring out ways that we can help Aella. We’ve been back and forth to the hospital and back to our hotel room. LIANI I look around and I stand in white light. There’s nothing here. Is this the sky? Am I in heaven? Is this what the afterlife looks like? I feel a sense of calmness as I stand here. I close my eyes and inhale. When I open them again, I see that I’m standing in a field. There are tons of flowers and beautiful trees. As I look out I see a figure walking towards me. A woman.
