YOU REAP WHAT you sow.

We all eventually face the consequences of the actions we do in the present.

Twelve-year-old Nicole heard Mrs. Vietllo—her English teacher told her during one of her classes— she was a middle-aged lady with a smile that always made her feel warm, although everything she told the little kid, she carved it in the deep parts of her soul this was one thing the little girl disagreed on.

Why do you think like that? She'd ask, crouching down to come eye to eye with the shy green-eyed girl who always looked at her with eyes sparkling.

Looking at the floor, she'd shake her head without giving any answer because she knew her answers would lead her into trouble. So without answering, she sits near the window, letting the warm sunlight flicker all over her body and the blue sky fill her gaze with her thoughts in a train wreck.

What bad things did I do for my parents and sister to hate me this much? She thought to herself.

Engrossed in deep thinking, she tries pulling, plucking all of the memories out of her brain–finding the bad things she did anywhere in her life because of which she's been these consequences.

A gasp escapes her when she realizes that she accidentally broke her mother's favorite vase once. Is that why they all hate her so much?

The whole time in school and back to her house– she apologizes to God above for breaking the vase and tries making deals with Him to be good so her parents can stop hating her.

Going back she doesn't realize that it's a weekend and her sworn husband is already present at her house with a bouquet in his hands.

My darling girl, he'd call her. After showering her with kisses, hugs, and many uncomfortable touches, they both go to her room– hand in hand.

A curious and hopeful child she was but her curiousness always landed her in trouble so many times, her mother got really angry at her when little Nicole had asked the name of her friend's sworn husband and a fight broke between them because her friend said little kids don't have husband while Nicole cried– telling her that everyone has their husbands chosen from their birth.

That's what my mom told me! she yelled while crying.

A strong beating had been waiting for her at home that day because her mother said she was not supposed to talk about her husband with anyone.

Since then, she's stopped asking questions even though they are always present at the tip of her tongue waiting to be released, so even to this day she stops herself from asking her husband what wrong things did she to face everything she does.

Won't you wish me a happy birthday? her husband says, pulling her to sit on top of his lap.

But it's tomorrow, she'd point out.

30. He was turning 30 tomorrow, she also never understood why her husband was so older than her and why not someone near her age but she also knew it would only get her in trouble if she asked.

Soon he left and night came, but the question still lingered in her mind.

What did I do to face everything?
