"Where's my money, Kevin?" Xavier asked kindly. That's the thing about Xavier, he was very kind and understanding. He gave extensions when people asked because he understood that things could be a bit difficult at times.
Said Kevin was standing in the middle of Xavier's living room where Xavier was casually lounging on his couches, enjoying a football game. Besides Kevin stood his girlfriend by the name of Naomi, and Xavier knew all about her but didn't say a word. He pretended as though he knew nothing about the girl standing beside the young boy.
"Uh," Kevin's voice cracked in nervousness as he looked down at his hands and he was shaking, "I...I've been trying, Xavier. I swear I have," Kevin was a good guy, well, he was definitely a good guy compared to the much older Xavier.
Kevin stood at 5'9", dark skinned with a bald head. He always wore hoodies and he was as fat as a guy can get. He was naturally big built but on top of that he was really fat- like donut eating police officer fat, if that makes sense.
"Is that so?" Xavier asked calmly as his eyes went to the screen where the game was taking place but his eyes would casually falter back to the young couple, "I've been giving you extension after extension Kevin," Xavier told him, stating the obvious.
When Kevin first came to Xavier, Xavier felt sorry for the fat fuck and gave him the $50,000 that he wanted, but Kevin kept coming to plead for more money and Xavier kept giving him more money, but Xavier was tired. As good hearted and understanding as he was, he simply wanted his money back, with interest.
"I'm sorry, Mr Huxx. I really am. I tried getting jobs but nobody wants to hire me, I tried working at McDonald's, anything at all, but I can't find-"
"Who's this? Your girlfriend?" Xavier commented noticing how the couple was nervous before, but stiffened when he'd turned his attention to the caramel skin coloured black girl with a pathetic red wig that was falling off her head. She looked a mess.
Kevin cleared his throat nervously, his heart racing, "yes, this is my girlfriend."
"And what's that in her arms?" Xavier asked with interest even though he knew it was a baby that was wrapped up in that little blanket that the girl held close to her.
"It's my baby," Naomi answered protectively, holding onto the baby even tighter.
Xavier tilted his head, smiling kindly at the girl but nodded and then turned his attention to Kevin, "so what do you want now? More money? Another extension?" Xavier asked him, lifting his hand that held the remote and paused the game on the massive TV that covered the entire wall.
"Both..." Kevin trailed off.
Xavier hated one thing; being taken for a fool. All he wanted was for Kevin to pay him back. Hell, even a single dollar would've sufficed at this point but Kevin just didn't learn.
At that moment, Xavier's wife, Penelope entered the room and confidently strutted into the room, flipping her blonde hair as she looked at the couple with just as much of a friendly smile as her husband gave them, "ooh, I love babies," she gushed as she rushed to Naomi's side and looked down at the baby.
"Oh, wow, look at her," Penelope commented as she peered down at the baby that Naomi held close to her chest, and the two ladies began to talk.
"I think you're starting to take advantage of me, Kevin," Xavier spoke up, his eyes meeting Kevin's brown ones, "and I don't like being taken advantage of, you know that?" Xavier felt his fingers tingling and his toes curled at the thought of killing them.
"I'm sorry, Xavier," Kevin apologized but that was the feather that broke the camel’s back.
The couple froze, looked up at Kevin and his girlfriend, "can I hold the baby?" Penelope said more than asked as she took the baby and when she had the baby in her arm, she raised a gun to Naomi's head while her husband simultaneously pointed a gun at Kevin's head.
"It's Mr Huxx," Xavier snarled, the kind man gone and replaced by a demon, "but don't worry, you'll never make that mistake again."
At that they both pulled the trigger and the two bodies fell to the floor.
"What should we do with the baby?" Penelope asked as she walked to her husband and he stood up from the couch, looking down at the baby and squinted his eyes as he saw her face.
"What's that on her face?" he stupidly asked and Penelope rolled her eyes.
"She clearly has vitiligo," she answered him, "are we going to kill her?" Penelope asked as she smiled when the baby looked at her and kept reaching out to touch her, "she's so pretty."
Xavier shrugged, he'd seen prettier babies, "give her to Oden. He'll know what to do with her."
"Hey baby," Penelope greeted with a wide smile as they walked through the door that led into to the full dark red bedroom, that belonged to their youngest, Oden, "guess what your father and I got for you..."
Oden peeked up when he heard that. He was sitting in the corner on the floor, lost in his thoughts of severed body parts. He didn't say anything, just stared at his mother and father as they approached him with something wrapped in a little blanket.
He stood and peered down at it in fascination, but he wasn't expecting a small face to look at him. His eyes scanned the side of her face and he wondered why her face was half pink and half brown, but he'd never seen anything quite like her.
She looked up at him and smiled, speaking in baby tongue and something in him went off, "doll," he uttered as he touched her face and she tried to grab his hand and place it into her mouth, "my doll."
"Yes, son," Xavier agreed, happy to see his son so excited, "this is your doll."

Sleep comes so much easier when you feel fulfilled. I felt like I had done everything that I had ever wanted to do and for that, I felt at peace with myself and the world around me. The world hadn't been as ugly as I thought that it would be. Well, maybe it was but the experience that I had was a pleasant one because even though I was outside, I was still kept in a safety blanket.I experienced all the things that girls in romantic movies experienced and it made me feel normal. Which is something I never thought myself to be. I mean, I was Oden's doll. There was nothing normal about that.I have always been special my entire life. It felt good to finally experience what everyone else experiences. It felt good to simply blend in with people and their experiences.Bishop had blessed me with a freedom that Oden would have never even blinked an eye at. Oden kept me tucked under his arm while Bishop seemed to go out of
"Doll, wake up," I heard someone whisper over and over in my ear. I frowned, feeling frustrated because they were interrupting me from my dream world. That's where I went to escape. In my dream world, I was with Oden, sitting between his legs as he played with my hair and braided it. I groaned, but opened my eyes to look into Bishop's blue orbs."What's wrong?" I asked in a groggy voice, "do we have to leave again?" I couldn't think of any other reason that he could've disturbed my sleep for, except this."I know that it's late, but..." he paused, gesturing to the window behind him with his thumb, "it's raining.""It's raining?""Yes, it's raining.""Raining?""Yes, it's raining.""It's raining..."He chuckled, shaking his head, "let's go outside."I shot up from the bed and accepted his han
He took us to one of his other homes. This one wasn't the opulent penthouse that we had been at before, but this was a beautiful, modern and fancy home. It wasn't anything like the Huxx's home, his was more modest. It only had four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms in a beautiful community where you could hear the screeches of kids and see dogs being taken for walks in the morning.I had been spending most of my time in my room, sitting on my bed with my knees to my chest as I looked outside the window, watching the groups of kids on their fancy skateboards and bikes, speed up and down the street. They served as my entertainment. The only time I saw Bishop was when I went down to eat and even then, most days he wasn't there. He left two guards with me to watch me the entire day when he wasn't here.I yawned as I stretched and stood up from the bed, deciding to eat because my stomach was cry
I smiled at the realization that Oden is on his way and he's close. How do I know this? Because Bishop woke me up with a start and pointed a gun into my back, daring me to put up a fight as he led me into his car and began driving us away.I looked at the distant city, a smile on my face as my fingers held onto the glass. Oden cared, and that's all I cared about. I didn't care that Bishop had managed to get me away before Oden got to me. As long as Oden was looking for me, I knew that everything was going to work out.I was still Oden's perfect doll and he was coming for me.I looked on at the city until it became but a small dot in the distance and I couldn't see anything anymore. I finally took my face off the window and rested my head against the seat before I looked at Bishop's lap where his gun sat in between his thighs as he drove. He had his hands on the steering wheel but his face was p
I pressed my fingernails into my palm in fear as I stood in the doorway of the elevator that led us directly to Bishop's mustang. I was prepared just moments before the elevator opened and I could see the outside world just outside the underground parking lot."Doll?" Bishop called me when he noticed that I hadn't moved. He stopped in his steps and looked back at me, "don't be scared," he paused as he started to walk towards me, "we'll do this together. The outside world can't hurt you unless you let it."He extended his hand for me to accept and I placed my hand in his and I let his hand wrap around mine. I let him lead me to his mustang that reminded me of a movie that I had watched of a racer and a girl who fell in love with each other in the end.I quickly hopped into the car when he opened the door for me and he jogged around it before he slid into the driver's seat. He leaned over and put my seat belt on for
He left me alone for the rest of the day and for that, I was glad. Either he left me alone or I was doing a good job at staying in my room the entire time and not leaving so I don't have to face him.I was hurt that he had laughed at me and laughed at my words of referring to Xavier and Penelope as my parents. He didn't understand the Huxx family like I did. The Huxx's were the only ones who never laughed at me, they laughed with me, and sadly for Bishop, they did see me as family. But most importantly Oden saw me as his perfect doll and for that, I was happy and satisfied. No matter how hard Bishop laughed, I always had this at the end of the day. I still had my Oden and my Oden was on his way to save me, no matter how many times Bishop would move us around. Oden will find me.I stood up, still dressed in the clothes that I had changed into last night before I tried to go to sleep. I was too lazy to bath and too u
