Exposed!

Serene dropped the wooden comb on the dressing table and her eyes flickered to her reflection on the mirror. She looked at herself one last time and a tiny smile curled up on her face. She was satisfied with herself and she stood up. She looked around and picked her phone. Then, she stuffed it into a small purse.

Seeing that she was through with dressing, she walked out of the room. She was planning to visit her brother in the hospital. She had not been able to visit him lately but Steve suddenly went on a three days business trip and was not back yet, she decided to take up the opportunity to visit her little brother.

She reached the living room and just as she was about to open the door, a knock was heard from outside. Her heart skipped a bit and her body stilled.

Who could it be? She wondered.
