Chapter 03

"Welcome to White Rose Pack Elle." Alpha Hansel toned beside me with so much delight as the limo drove through the boundaries of the Pack. I looked out through the window and I would be lying if I said I wasn't stunned. The trees were tall and beautiful, filled with the tweeting of birds. The roads were tarred and the houses and buildings were elegantly built with the people going about their daily business. In all my life, this was the biggest and most beautiful Pack I've ever been to.

I glanced at him but he was busy with his phone like he wasn't expecting me to be stunned. Or maybe he just didn't care about what I thought.

"It's beautiful," I remarked silently but it was more than enough for him to hear.

"I know." He replied nonchalantly without a glance. I kept smiling at my window until we arrived at the Pack House. Two guards came to approach our vehicle. One on the left and the other, to my side. They opened our respective doors courteously and as I stepped out, my jaw dropped. The afternoon's sun warmly graced my skin, My breaths hung in my throat while my eyes twitched repeatedly at the gigantic white mansion standing before me. With the number of guards protecting this place alone, only a fool with a death wish would try to attack this place. Yes I knew, Alpha Hansel was wealthy but I didn't know his affluence reeked this much.

"When you're done daydreaming, come inside." The Alpha's voice tousled my thoughts before he climbed off into the building.

"I know right," someone said beside me, it was his Beta. He had a proud smile as he stared at the building too. "It's beautiful." He muttered as if he knew exactly what was in my mind.

I smiled.

"I don't think we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves properly, last night was a blur for me." He chuckled. "I'm Simon, The Beta of the Pack."

"I'm Elle," I beamed, he hummed in an interesting manner.

"Welcome to White Rose Pack. He told me everything yesterday and I hope you can fulfill your promise. I'm sure he'll treat you right." He muttered and my beam slowly diminished. "Come on in, you don't want to keep him waiting." He beckoned and I followed him from behind. As we climbed the stairs leading to the twin doors, the two guards positioned by the door side opened it while they bowed slightly. It's exterior was a stunner but inside? It was another heaven on its own. Once we got to the ridiculously large living room, Alpha Hansel was seated on a white couch while the maids dressed in short white and black gowns all arranged themselves before him. With just a glance, I could tell they were over thirty.

"I was waiting for you." He uttered while he focused on me, Simon on the other hand sat on another couch in a lazy fashion. "Come over here." He ordered and I quickly obeyed. Walking past the maids I could already hear them whispering about me. I stood nervously by his left whilst wondering what he was up to. "Sit." He ordered, pointing at the couch's arm.

My heart rate started to hit harder but there was no way I could disobey him so I cautiously sat.

"I want you all to meet Elle, my pet." He said and I felt pain and disgust course through my veins like a tidal wave. Of course I was of no relevance to him except breaking his curse but tagging me that name alone brought hurtful memories of Jeff and my past. "She'll be living with us henceforth so you all better treat her as much as you treat the other residents of this house. Is that clear?"

"Yes Alpha." They chorused.

"Elle, I want you to meet Lydia, she's the chief maid and henceforth she would be in your care." He gestured at the stunning brown haired lady at their center. She smiled at me and somehow that relieved me a bit.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Elle." She toned sweetly and I flashed her a smile that only lasted a second.

"Give her the best of the rooms we have, she'll be needing some clothes too," he stared at my body for a while. "Lots of them and make sure to answer all of her requests except it requires my permission."

"Your wish is my command, Alpha Hansel." She beamed at him.

"Alright, take her to her room and do the needful. The rest of you are dismissed." He said while Lydia beckoned me to follow her. And so, I threaded up the stairs behind her and across the hallways till we finally arrived at my room that easily struck me in awe. The room was donned in gold paintings with several luxurious furniture to complement its beauty.

"I hope you like it and if you don't we can make the adjustments as you like." She chirped with my eyes still dazing around.

"No it's fine, I love it." I beamed at her.

"That's great!" She pitched. "So, now that's done, let's get you fixed up. You must have had a long journey, so why don't I treat you to a nice and warm bath?"

"I would really use a bath right now," I exhaled lightly and she chuckled.

"I'll go prepare your bath now, but before that, What would you like to eat?"

"I really don't know but I'm starving." I sat lazily on the edge of the bed.

"Well, I'll surprise you then." She gestured with a wink and I smiled. "Oh and I'll be needing to take your measurements, so we can get the right clothes. Do you have a favorite color?"

I squinted my eyes for a while before I wriggled my head in denial.

"That's--" she paused trying to find the right words.

"Weird?"

"Not at all," she chuckled. "Interesting, is the better word."

I hummed, but deep down all these things didn't really matter to me. All I wanted was to escape from here at the slightest chance I got. Maybe time came back so fast, but it was a better thing either way. The night had finally descended. Hansel and Simon were apparently out with their respective affairs and here I was in my room, alone. This was the perfect time.

I alighted from the bed, and headed to my large window. I could see a huge forest a few meters after this compound, and somehow there must be an escape route, Hopefully. I opened the window and the height below me was tall enough to tell me jumping would only break my legs. But that would only happen for a normal human.

I pulled out a strand of my hair and then my eyes gleamed Scarlett red. I chanted a spell as I held on to the hair and it suddenly turned to a small bird. I let the bird fly out through the window, controlling it till it landed somewhere in the forest. It was a simple teleportation spell. One I never learnt or remembered acquiring in the first place. All I knew was, the spell was always in me and now again, it was going to be handy for me. My eyes gleamed red again as I chanted the finishing spell. I closed my eyes and as I opened them, the moonlight's gaze was what welcomed me first and the gentle breeze that came with it. It was mainly dark but I could still navigate my way through somehow. I turned back only to see the building I'd just left.

"I'm sorry, Alpha Hansel." I whispered and the wind blew past me in a stormy way. Maybe it was just me but it felt wrong leaving. My heart kept judging me but I was definitely not going to listen to it. I've had enough of getting used by Alphas for one moment in my life. And on that note, I started running.
