Liam P.O.V. It’s been three weeks since the day with brunch, and mom and the other’s have been harassing Maddie with all sorts of questions about the Luna ceremony. She says it’s fine, but I can feel she is getting stressed about all the decisions, so I went to mom and asked her to stop asking Maddie all the time, and instead make it a learning experience. Maddie is keen to learn everything she can, and she has adapted to the pack life with grace. I am beyond proud of her. We are going on walks in the forest area every day, as she is also very adamant to get to know the pack lands and everyone in it. People and animals. I have met more animals in the last three weeks than I have in all my life. She is truly remarkable, and she instructs me every time what is best to do as to not scare her friends. The two squirrels from outside the cave have made themselves home in the big oak tree just outside the packhouse, greeting us every morning when we go on our morning stroll. They have even
Maddison P.O.V.“Guys, you don’t have to follow me to the kitchen. What should happen to me on that short little walk?” I ask with a laugh, while we are descending the stairs to get to the kitchen. Ezra, Sophie and Clara are all following in my heels, and I find it absolutely ridiculous and funny at the same time. We are in the pack house for Goddess sake! As we go down the last flight of stairs I stop on one of the steps and look at the group of complaining people in the hall. I may have spoken too soon. “There she is! Give us our sons back, you spawn of the devil!” A woman screams jumping towards me. Before anyone can react, I have her in a magical hold, preventing her from advancing further. The others growls fiercely, but compared to Liam it kind of sounds like a kitten trying to sound like a lion. I roll my eyes.“Mom! Dad! What the fuck?” Ezra asks with anger in his voice. He’s looking at one of the couples with contempt. “Ezra, darling. We’ve come to take you home! We are lea
Liam P.O.V.I can’t believe the audacity of those fuckers! How dare they show up at the packhouse like that and accuse my sweet and amazing mate of such heinous things? I am beyond livid and it took everything in me to not kill all of them. I wanted to follow the last couple, the Sanders, and make an example out of them, but my Maddie stopped me. She even got through to that hothead to Ash. However she did that I have no idea, but they way she handle herself and the situation makes me fucking proud to have her as my mate! She is a wonder, and I can learn so much from the way she just held them back with her magic, and never got baited to say or react to their threat and gall. I wanted to talk to her alone, before going back to the others. To tell her how fucking proud I am of her. To express my deep admiration of her control. But I think she got the wrong idea, and I am currently kicking myself for that. She had her eyes closed, and she opted for taking one of the chairs from the bre
Maddison P.O.V. Standing in the finished ballroom, I have to take a deep breath so I do not faint from the nerves. The room is absolutely gleaming with splendor. Clara was right - Cianna does not know how to go small. She came to us about two weeks back and asked if it was okay if she invited Alphas and Lunas from the nearby pack - as a sign of peace and friendship. Liam had scrunched his nose, because that meant inviting Rick, and he really didn’t want him to bring his sister. Cianna had smiled and told us she had thought of that and in his invitation it specifically stated that we wanted to see the two Alpha’s of Iron mountain, and his father would be his plus one. Liam had looked at me, and I had shrugged. The former Alpha threw me out of his pack, and I must admit I kinda found it like poetic justice to the man, inviting him to come to my Luna ceremony. I agreed and Liam did the same. He wanted me to be comfortable, and I laughed and told him I would be if we canceled. Cianna ha
Liam P.O.V.I told Richard we would speak more in the morning, but right now Maddie needs me. As soon as we came back to our room, she completely broke down. She blamed herself for not freeing her teacher and confidant, but I kept telling her it’s not her fault. We all thought Azlela was dead. I mind-linked the information to my parents, and in the middle of me trying to calm my crying mate, someone bashed on the door, throwing it open and bursting into our room. The hurricane was of course my mother. Dad came behind her with sad eyes and an apologetic expression. Maddie quietly keeps sobbing into my shirt, as mom sits down on her other side on the bed and pulls her into a side hug. I bite down a growl. “Uhm, mom, boundaries?!” I exclaim with an eye roll, but she completely ignores me. She keeps cooing at Maddie, telling her the same things as me. Which I would have told her was for no use, but whatever floats her boat I guess. “Son, are you sure Azlela is alive?” Dad asks, bringing
Maddison P.O.V.Breakfast goes without a hitch. The family is gathered, which is always a pleasant and loud affair - I am learning. Everyone teases everyone, and the sassy remarks fly though the room. The only time the atmosphere wasn’t loud, was when Liam told everyone what happened at the meeting this morning. Cianna and the other moms were beside themselves with anger over the audacity of Rick and Jessica. Logan contemplated if we could attack Iron Mountain and free Azlela, but he quickly changed his mind, when the consequence of that dawned on him. “A better way to go about this, if you don’t mind, Liam?” Killian says, looking at Liam and me. Liam nods, listening intently. “We could try and gather evidence on Iron Mountain - in the shadows at first. We need to reveal to the entire community what they are up to, and what they have done. We need the other packs on our side, as well as the Council. We need to be smart about it.” “You’re right, Killian, but how do you suppose we do
Liam P.O.V. The day goes by fairly quickly after breakfast. We gather in the living room, closing the doors, so we can be alone and they can make sure I do not sneak out to see Maddie. I really want to just go up there to see her, hug her and kiss her. It pains me to be away from her, especially when I have to be. I know she is well looked after, and the people we hired for their spa treatments, and makeovers are seriously pros, and supernatural. They know the order of a pack, and we made sure they knew who they were pampering today. They will show her the respect she deserves, and I invited them to the ceremony tonight as a thanks for coming on a weekend day. They are all part of one of our allies, and all said yes to stay for tonight. I know this is what Maddie would have suggested had she known, which is why I did it. I want my girl to be happy, comfortable and surrounded by love! Speaking about being surrounded by love, I hope my little surprise with her brother makes her happy.
Maddison P.O.V.Everyone is dancing, laughing and enjoying themselves. I’m sitting at the table, resting my sore feet and looking at my fiancé dancing with his sister. They look really happy, and I can’t quite keep the smile off my face. The fact that Liam proposed to me still has me kind of shocked. The ring is absolutely huge and gorgeous, and even though I don’t really care how much it cost or how big it is, I am still very impressed with it. And with him. He did it perfectly. I still have to kick his ass for hiding my brother for a day, and proposing in front of the entire pack and guests, but I can’t fault him for either. The evening was even more perfect than I had ever imagined. The thought pulls me in and I lose myself in memories and thoughts. Because what I could picture in the cold dark nights in my cave, was far from the truth. In the cave I only had the fear of being forced to mate with someone because they wanted my powers, or discovered by Iron Mountain and forced to
Unknown P.O.V.All this time I have been playing double agent, I didn't think I would succeed in gaining the trust of the ranked members of this conspiracy, but now I am in more danger than ever before. All of them here think I am specifically on their side, but Maddie knows I am only ever on hers. She saved me when everything with the Coven we were visiting went down, and healed me despite the fact I had fought for the other side. She said she sensed I wasn’t a bad person and more or less had been forced to do something and she was right. They had held my siblings in captivity back at the Coven house, saying it didn’t matter if we were Coven members or visiting or not. Maddie saved our lives and I will follow her to the realm of the underworld and back again without question, so when she came to me with this mission right after we discovered where Jessica and Tywin were, I quickly agreed. But now the stakes are high
Jessica P.O.V.I can’t even believe it’s been 2 fucking years since that little bitch sent me living like a damn rogue! She had her brother instated as the new Alpha our MY pack, she took MY man and she had the audacity to be fucking smug about it! I want to scream, but it does not do anything to remove the shitty feeling of being out in the cold - literally.I quickly learned that Tywin has been banished from his pack and removed as Alpha, although he had given the title to his son to dodge any blowback, mainbitch Maddison made sure he was removed as former Alpha as well. I found him outside his old pack’s borders, fuming and raging. He had a few loyal pack members with him, as I had some with me. We made a deal to work together to get revenge. He wants both Liam and Maddison dead for what they did to his son, but I just want Maddie dead. I’ll make sure Liam suffers for the rest of his life as my mate. He’ll have to make up for so many mistakes it is going to be so much fun to make h
Maddison P.O.V. 2 years later “Micha Liam Blackmoon Nox, get back right this instant!” I yell down the hallway, shaking my head and chasing the naked toddler who is cackling like a madman. “Nooo!” He squeals, making a break for the stairs. I snatch him around his belly, lifting him into the air and dragging him back to the room. “Noo, momma. Bad momma! Unca Baller, unca Baller..” The kids whales, trying to break free from my one arm hold. He knows his uncle Balder and auntie Lillie are here, and he does not care to get dressed before greeting them. They are by far his favorite people, which kinda breaks Liam’s heart. I just find it incredibly funny. Back at the room Liam is bathing our twin girls - Mirage and Layla. They are one and a handful with Micha turning 2 today. “Baby, you need to get dressed before you can go see uncle Balder and aunt Lillie.” I tell Micha sternly, putting him on the change table. We are working on getting rid of the diaper, but so far we’ve come to the
Liam P.O.V.A few months later “OUT OF MY WAY! COMING THROUGH!” “ARGH!” I ran through the packhouse with Maddie in my arms. Her water broke in our room, and immediately after that the contractions hit. I run past Kendrick and Clara. ‘I’m getting her baby bag, just get my girl to the hospital safely. Ken is on his way with Mason.’ Clara mindlinks me as I turn the corner rushing into the hospital. “Alpha, in here.” Doc beckons me down the hall as Kendrick and Mason catch up with me. Doc just looks at them with her eyebrow raised. “Unless you want to see private parts of the Luna, I suggest you leave and wait in the waiting room Beta and Gamma.” I immediately growl, and the guys hurriedly disappear out into the hall again, closing the door behind them. Maddie whimpers on the bed, and I grab her hand, bringing it to my mouth. “You're so brave, baby.” I tell her, while the doc asks her to change out of her own clothes and into a hospital gown. I help her change, just as Clara and Soph
Maddie P.O.V.Thinking back to my wedding night always brings a smile to my face. People were having such a good time, and everyone seemed happy to celebrate with us. Liam was so attentive, and when he wasn’t dancing with his mom, my mom, his sister or some other female relative, he was by my side. But I was also a wanted woman, and I danced the night away with all of the guys, including my handsome husband. Baby kept kicking, and I couldn't have written it better myself. Late that night Liam took my hand and led me into the house, up the stairs to our room and asked me to change into the outfit on the bed. He kissed my knuckles with mischief shining in his beautiful eyes, and I laughed when he wiggled his eyebrows at me. He left me to change, passing Clara and Sophie on the way out. The girls help me out of my dress and into the outfit Liam has chosen for me. It consists of a dark navy blue flowy skirt, creamy white bottom shirt with short sleeves and a navy blue dress coat. They al
Liam P.O.V.“Are you ready, Alpha?” The priest asks, and I give him a nervous smile. “To be honest, I am not totally sure. But I’m ready to have Maddie as my wife. Does that count?” He laughs, placing his hand on my shoulder. “It is perfectly normal. And yes, that does count.” I take a shaky breath. I knew when I saw Maddie for the first time in that Book Cafe in town that I wanted to marry her one day. She was perfect in every way, and my one and only from that day. I know I’m one lucky bastard, and I will never take her or our child for granted. I have not forgotten the threat out there with Jessica, Tywin and Baxter on the loose, but we decided to forget them for a while. We have eyes on them, and they will warn us should they try anything. The music starts to play. I turn away from the priest. Two small flower girls walk down the aisle before Kendrick and Clara come down, followed by Mason and Sopie and my parents. A stray tear slide down my cheek at the sight. All the people
Maddie P.O.V.When we went our separate ways last night I dreaded sleeping without Liam. I know it’s tradition, and I believe in them, but this one just sucks so bad. We have slept together, in the same bed, since I got to the pack. If we didn’t go to bed at the same time, we still woke up together and vice versa. I got to our room and when I opened the door, the girls were in there with snacks, drinks and games. Push up mattresses on the floor and something paused on the TV. I stop dead in my tracks, looking at them really confused. “What are you doing here girls?” I ask, a small smile creeping on my lips. I have a feeling what they are doing here, and if I am right, I need to mindlink their poor mates and apologize. “Duh! We are not going to let you sleep alone tonight! We are going to stay here with you.” Sophie declares and the other nods. Something heavy disappears from my heart and shoulders. I really wasn’t all that prepared to sleep on my own, and the fact that my girls kne
Liam P.O.V. Waking in a guest room without my beautiful wife to be is a bit strange. For as long as Maddie has lived here, we have slept in the same bed. Never missing a night. But tradition calls for us to not see each other before the big event later this afternoon. I have slept pitiful without her, but it is what it is. ‘Are you ready for today, Ash?’ I ask my wolf, who had grumbled with dissatisfaction since we went to bed. ‘Yes, but it would have been better with her by our side all the time. Who says she is not going to disappear? I don’t like Maddie and Ember not being with us all the time.’ I chuckle at his answer. I totally get where he is coming from. I don’t like them not being with us all the time either, but we need to trust her to take care of herself and our child.‘I know dude, but we have to trust our mate. She is strong, and she can take care of herself. We will see her later today.’ Ash snorts. He doesn’t understand human traditions and thinks we are nuts to be a
Balder P.O.V.“Are you happy, sis?” I ask Maddie as we sway on the dance floor. She smiles at me, her eyes dancing. “More than I ever thought would be possible.” She responds, and it tucks at my heartstrings. “I should have protected you more back then.” She shakes her head. “Balder, you were as much a kid as I was. There was nothing you could have done.” I sigh. She is right, but the nagging feeling of having failed my little sister still haunts me, and it probably will for the rest of my life. “How are you and our parents getting along?” I ask. Maddie frowns. “It’s okay. We still have a long way to go.” I look into her eyes. She is such a pure person. She has everyone's best interest at heart, and she is trying so hard to forgive everyone who ever let her down - me, Richard, our parents. I just can’t help but feel we don’t deserve her forgiveness. “They really seem to have changed, but I don’t know if I truly trust them.” I tell her, twirling her out and in again. Liam is danc
