Chapter 18 Conflicts

Dave and his men roam the entire city searching for Zendaya, but they all came back with the same results.

They didn't find her anywhere in the city, the streets were devoid of any presence of her.

When Dave heard that, they couldn't find zenny, he flared up with anger and frustration.

Without thinking twice, he left the pack in a hurry, his mother kept calling out to him,  he ignored her completely as he got into his car and zoomed out of the packhouse without looking back.

He drives around the city, searching every nook and cranny for Zenny, but he still couldn't find her.

When Ethan and the physician saw that the conditions of Zenny were improving, they left her alone to take some rest.

Ethan stood at the balcony, staring at the beautiful sky, the stars were twinkling, his eyes kept darting in different directions following the movements of the stars, Just so he thought.

Dalian walked towards him, he must have been in deep thought, he didn't hear her coming.

She stood beside him with her hands-on. , with her hands on the railing, she let her eyes trail the direction of where Ethan was gazing at. 

She didn't get what he was veering at, so she decided to make a noise to inform him about her presence.

Sigh heavily “You are so worried about her,” She said.

Ethan turned his head around Swiftly to look at her, he smiled when he saw her glaring suspiciously at her.

“I have never seen you so worried about anyone, as much as you are about her” she continues 

“Is there something you are not telling me, Ethan” she rolled her eyes at him.

Looking into her eyes, you could see the fire of hatred and jealousy burning through her heart, but she concealed them with a smile.

“hey silly girl, quit whatever thoughts you have in your bug head ”Ethan retorts, grabbing her head and pinning it under his arm playfully.

“But deep down you know I'm right, I'm your best friend, but you don't even look at me the way you are looking at her, you barely know her yet you so worried about her”   she laments feigning annoyance and frowning brows. 

“What is going on with you Ethan, come on tell me ”she nudged at him, shaking his arm vigorously while making a pouty face.

“Will you stop with your silly insinuations, it's not funny ”he said retreating his arm from her grip.

Dalian let him go instantly without making a fuss out of his cold behavior towards her.

Looking into the deep black sky and a shooting star crawl out of its shell at that moment, Ethan hurriedly closed his eyes to make a wish, then he noticed that Dalian wasn't paying attention, he used his shoulders to detonate her and she looked up, noticing the shooting star, they both closed their eyes to make a wish.

After a couple of minutes, the shooting star was no longer visible, it left already.

Dalian had the urge to pressurize Ethan into telling her everything, but she could find the right way to say it without sounding desperate.

She gazed at the sky with her mind dazed, when she was about to say something Ethan cut through her thoughts, he said something before her.

“I feel some kind of connection towards her” Ethan exhales tightening his grip on the railing, then he allows his gaze to wander through the darkness of the night.

Dalian was curious about what Ethan had to say, she focused her gaze on him, letting him take his time before spilling the beans.

“When I saw her wandering all alone in the woods, I felt a sudden urge and determination to protect her” he continues, the moment he snapped out of his trance.

“She was alone and helpless, the looks on her face showed how naive and innocent she was, I'm sure she doesn't even know anything about the existence of the night creatures” he turned around to see the expression on Dalian's face.

“She was walking around in the woods, she was crying bitterly, something must have caused her to feel, she was feeling ”

“How sure are you that she is not part of the enemies, who are trying to force their way into this place ”Dalian asked with a hint of jealousy in her voice.

“You know how much everyone in this pack has suffered after our old pack was attacked and everything got burnt down” Dalian shrieked.

“I don't want them to go through the same pain all of over again,” Dalian said calmly.

“I'm sure, she is not part of any dangerous groups of werewolf hunters, she doesn't seem to know anything about us, she looks clueless” he retorts staring directly at Dalian, who is melting under his intimidating gaze.

“ When I saw her earlier, she was about to be devoured by a vampire, but for some unknown reason, the vampire perished as soon as he came close to her, I was flabbergasted by the sight but I hurriedly took her away from the woods before another vampire comes for the both of us after they must sniff my scent ” he turned around after saying this.

He slammed his fists on the railing involuntarily, and the color of his eyes changed into yellow, he was staring down, Dalian rushed to his side, but she knew he wasn't feeling any pain, then she calmed her nerves 

“That beast and his men have caused too much for both the humans and werewolves, we are suffering greatly because of his greed,”

Ethan said, then he slammed both his hands on the wall, he punched the walls heavily, then his fist started bleeding, but in the next splitting seconds, they were healed.

Dalian moved closer to him fearfully and tried parting his shoulders to Cal him down.

She was scared to stay beside him whenever he is angry, because each time, he gets angry about what the beast is doing, he loses himself.

“It's all his fault that this happened to us, his decision to have a conflict is the reason behind the destroys that took place a year ago,” Ethan said with a gritted teeth.

“You are not going to achieve anything by hurting yourself like this, we need to think with a calm mind about what we are going to do ” Dalian cut through his thoughts, breaking the silence that engulfed him after he said those words.

Dalian was about to bring up suggestions when Ethan suddenly turn around, darting towards the room.

“She needs something, I can feel it,” Ethan said then, he sped off hurriedly.

 Dalian was hurt by his action, and she stared after him angrily, as soon as he disappeared into the hallway, she banged her fists on the railing.

Her eyes were dark and vicious.

She had an expressionless look on her face, then it slowly fades into anger and jealousy.

“Ethan has never cared for me, the way he is doing about you, I have always longed for his attention, I have longed for him since the past few years and now you came from nowhere trying to steal him from me? Never, I won't let you do that ” she shrieked, then a tear dropped from the corner of her eyes.

Melinda kept pacing around in her room all night, trying to find a way to cause conflicts in the pack, while Dave was away, that way people would think she is the right person for him since she was going to be handling the situation in a great manner, to impress the people.

She kept pacing around the room and biting her nails slowly, nothing was forthcoming, then she became frustrated and kicked the wall.

Immediately, she regained her composure, a glimmer of idea flashed into her mind, she smiled sinisterly, she took her phone and called someone.
