Orla POV I could sense the power binding Willow. It was of a coven strength. I knew exactly which coven. I had arrived here later than expected. I had been visiting my witchcraft links to strengthen alliances and gather information. She was younger than I expected and judging by her running, in a lover’s tiff. Lugh had done well with his protection spell…but judging by his face when Willow hit the barrier, he didn’t expect quite the reaction it caused. He seemed to care for this girl. He hadn’t been the same since we left our original coven and I worried I was taking him down a path he shouldn’t be following. The Alpha Wolf picked his mate up and raced back to the house placing her upstairs on the bed. “Help her, she can’t heal.” He looks to Lugh with panic in his eyes. Lugh whispers an incantation that allows wounds to heal faster. I raise an eyebrow to him and he scowls at me. I walk out of the room and down the stairs to start making a remedy for Willow for when she wakes u
Willow POV “Remove it!” “Pardon?” Lugh’s sister Orla said to me. “I want it gone!” I demand. “No!” She responds coldly. “No?” I stand up. “Wils what are you talking about?” Brett holds my arm. “The magic. I want it gone. I’m done. I’m done being a puppet. I want it gone now!” I scream before collapsing into Brett’s arms and sobbing into his chest. He strokes my hair softly to comfort me.“I know baby, I know.” “Who is this Cara?” Brett asks. “She is from our original coven, our family pack if you will.” Orla answers. “She is working with Ashley?” “Mmm it would seem so.” Orla nods.“Why is your family coven attacking my mate? Brett growls. Orla sighs and closes her eyes as she places her hands on the table. “Our parents were the head witch and warlock of the coven. Our coven was the most respected in the country, very influential. Our parents passed when we were young. We were 7 at the time. Obviously too young to take over the coven. So our Uncle became regent until we
Willow POVBrett argued with Orla for sometime but I could see it in Lugh’s facial expressions that she was right. After some time I convinced him that he had to leave. Orla and Lugh left us to say our goodbyes before Brett left in an hour’s time. He was packing his bag upstairs whilst I was folding up the recently laundered clothes in the kitchen. He walks downstairs dropping the bag on the floor. “I can’t go Wils, I can’t leave you!” “I know, but it’s only for a few days. You know I am safe here and I will call you every day. As many times as you want.” I sadly smiled at him. He nodded, his shoulders slumped. Tears start to run down my face at the prospect of not seeing him for a while and I race to him almost knocking him over. I sob into his chest before drying my tears and looking up at him. He tilts my head up by my chin and kisses me deeply. “I love you.” He whispers into my ear. “I love you too.” I whisper back. He kisses me one more time and he heads to the door. He s
Cara POVI couldn’t believe I heard her. A voice that I hadn’t heard for so long. A voice that was dead, or so I had been told. Orla Hallam, the golden princess of the river rocks. Her twin brother Lugh, Orla and I grew up together. But after their parent’s tragic deaths they were never the same and illness took them. Or so their Uncle led us to believe. I had been sold, sold to do magic like a servant. Financial and political gain, that’s all he cared about. He had ruined the coven. Those, too scared to fight him did his bidding, those looking to challenge him were sold off or killed. He threatened to kill my family if I didn’t go. So I went to take Shannon’s place 3 year’s after she died. What I wasn’t expecting is that Shannon had been here and already done quite a lot of damage to this Onara Eardwulf. But, without realising the magic was being put on Onara.Shannon left me clues as to the bindings already on her and this mad Alpha wanted me to increase the spells. He certainly
Willow POV It was the 20th December. Lugh and Orla had been with me pretty much all the time since Brett left. They had seen me in my wolf form everyday to read the markings to prepare the coven for the community spell. I had met the coven a number of times now. Lugh was right, they were such kind and welcoming people. They even showed me certain herbal teas to help for small health remedies. They had a large village cauldron that they used for group spells and they seemed excited to be using it again. A small group of children enjoyed playing with my wolf. I let them sit on my back and take them for small rides, like a donkey really. I joked to them that I would have to charge soon. They also enjoyed touching my fur and looking at the gold markings on me. I was even the main subject in one of the teaching groups. Which Lugh kept laughing at me about. It was coming up to evening time and we all decided to have a group meal cooked by the elders to welcome me into their coven. I do
Brett POVI was going mad with worry. I could feel Willow’s emotions through the bond and her pain just as we reached the field to meet Ashley. Orla had warned me of the pain I would feel through the bond but not to worry about Willow. I could already smell the rogues flanking Ashley’s men around the back. Did he think we were stupid. That we didn’t know about the rogue attacks. Jeremy stood next to me along with Louis, Alpha Nick and my Father. Our betas Thomas and Aidan were also with us watching Ashley’s warriors getting nearer. On face value we outnumbered the McCoy pack. I had warriors attend from each of our northern packs as well as our home pack. The Johnson pack has always been unrivalled with their warrior training and we stood a good chance of winning this. However, I didn’t know how many rogues were in hiding around the woods that ran behind the field. I could smell them, but couldn’t see them. Ashley walks closer to us with his Beta Rick. Alpha Nick, Jeremy and Louis
Willow POV I was running again…running like my life depended on it. I was in wolf form heading back to my family pack. Dread hit me when I smell a scent in the air of blood as I headed to that same field. By the time I reached it a war had broken out. I started to race towards the centre when the vision stopped and my eyes opened. “Ssh Lugh, it was the only way.” I heard Orla’s voice next to me. I tried to sit up when I felt cold hands touch my face. “Willow…how do you feel?!” Lugh asked me, helping me stand up. “Like I’ve been hurled around in a washing machine.” I just about finish to say before I bend over and empty the entire contents of my stomach. “A tad dizzy.” I smiled at him. All eyes were on me and everyone was stepping in closer to me. Orla’s next move surprises me. She pulls my hair behind my shoulders before asking me. “Do you feel strong enough to shift?” I still felt queasy but I could see all the hopeful eyes looking at me. “We want to see if the markings are
Brett POVI’d thought I’d lost her, lost her forever. My heart stopped when she died in my arms. My anger was like nothing I’d ever felt before and I knew who was responsible for her death.I couldn’t believe it when I heard her heart start beating again. It sounded stronger than before, like she had been held back. Her wolf was stunning. Gone were the gold markings but a golden shimmer remained on the tip of her snow white fur. Her eyes were still golden but they seemed more vibrant, more alive. She purred into Lugh’s hand and licked it which earned her a moan from me. Hearing my possessiveness she jumps at me knocking me over. She licked my face as I held her close. She jumped off me and I stood up to find members of her parent’s pack, my pack and even some of the rogues kneeling to her. Willow must have heard Ashley command his men to attack her. Her growl was deafening and I used all my power to try to make her submit to me. I’d only just got her back, I didn’t want her challe
Willow POV Present Day“Willow…Willow?” Dr Gibson tries to break me out of my shocked state. “Twins? Are you sure?” “Yes my dear. I think we should call Alpha Brett…Samantha can you contact him please.” Dr Gibson asks his daughter, my childhood friend Samantha, to contact my mate. Samantha has been helping the pack Doctor, her Father, out during term breaks from university but with the recent attack on our pack, she has been helping him daily to assist with the pack injuries. I had been in the Alpha Mansion, my childhood home, when it was attacked by warlocks. A spell had been placed to stop me from jumping out my bedroom window and with the flames too strong I couldn’t get out any other way. Thomas, the pack Beta, sacrificed his life to be with me, to save me. Since the death of my friend, I had been in a state of shock and numbness. The simplest of tasks exhausted me and my mate Brett, my parents, my Brother’s Jeremy and Louis, and my warlock friend Lugh had been keeping an eye
Her King Alpha Mate Book 2 of the Trinity Knot series. Prologue Imogen POV3.5 years agoMy vision was clear, the future King Alpha mate and the brother Alpha were to visit me at my stall in Camden market. However I could not get an exact precise date, only the month and year. Like an idiot, I’d been here for days waiting, trying to find them in the crowd. I had plenty of tourists acquire my skills which has filled my pockets nicely. I am a blood witch. I am different from an element coven witch and we are today known as vampires. Curse those warlocks for ousting my ancestors and spreading rumours about us. Just because they didn’t understand our power. We now live in cities, away from the country-side covens. Our power requires blood to taste. We can read the past and future as one drop of blood touches our tongues. We do not suck humans dry, that is a myth conjured by said warlocks to keep us away, betraying us resulting in being hunted for centuries. I could feel the change co
Epilogue Willow POV 5 days had passed since Thomas was taken from us. We laid him to rest at the pack graveyard where he would join his family. An only child with no descendants of his own, his family line had finished. After waking up from the fire, I just remained in a state of shock. Everyone took it in turns to stay with me. Almost as if I would do something silly. My wolf kept whispering to me. “Another one…not another one.”She felt disappointed with me for not saving him. I felt disappointed with myself. After the bindings being lifted I thought I’d feel free and empowered. But it was short lived and I just felt sad and exhausted. Brett had barely left my side and if he needed to, my parents, Jeremy, Louis or Lugh watched me. The nightmares came mainly at night where I was trying to reach Thomas down a corridor covered in smoke and flames but I could never get to him in time. I would then wake up sweating and gasping for breathe. I would then be hushed back to sleep or i
Louis POVI had to get Willow out of there, staring at our Beta’s lifeless body wasn’t good for her. She cared deeply for Thomas, she always cares. I started to walk her back to the pack house when her legs give way to exhaustion and she collapses in my arms. I pick her up and carry her in my arms. I hear running footsteps behind me when I turn to find Brett, Lugh and Oliver racing towards me. “What happened?” Brett asks trying to reach for Willow. I move her away from his reach and start walking back to the pack house. “She collapsed. I’m taking her to the pack house.” “Louis she needs the medical centre.” Brett growls at me. I turn and growl at him. “Don’t tell me what to do with my sister.” Brett’s eyes turn dark emerald green as a growl escapes his chest. “Louis…give her to me…now!” Brett seethes with anger. “No Brett, you and Jeremy have failed her. I won’t, I’ll protect her!” I shout back as I storm off with them chasing closely behind. “Louis…” Oliver tries to calm me
Willow POV After they left, I decided to have a bath and relax before climbing into bed. I hadn’t felt right all day and something was nagging at me inside. I had drifted off at midnight only to be woken up by shouting and our pack alarm going off. We were under attack. I try to push for my parents through the mind link but both had it closed off. I got out of bed when I heard a blood curdling scream and a multitude of explosions hit the ground floor. I race out of my room to the stairs to find fire had already engulfed the downstairs door and hallway, also blocking my route to the back door. The flames start to climb the stairs and I race back into my bedroom. I open my window to jump out when I can’t seem to get past the window frame. Almost like an invisible barrier stopping me. Witchcraft! Panicking I raced back into the hallway to find it is now engulfed by smoke and flames. I can’t even get into my parent’s room. I try to cover my mouth and shout for help. Everyone must
Brett POVI heard the rest of them talking about hitting a few bars in town. Too be honest, we all needed a little bit of normality. “Can we go to?” Lizzie asks Jeremy pouting. “Fine!” He huffs. “But I expect a thank you later!” He winks at her grabbing onto her hip from behind. “Ew gross.” Willow tries not to choke on her drink. “Like you can talk.” Jeremy says gently slapping his hand across the back of Willow’s head. “You guys coming?” Lizzie turns to Willow. “You guys go…I might just call it a night.” Willow says looking at the clock. “I’ll stay?” I offer. “No you go babe, Mum and Dad will be back from visiting the new pup with Doctor Gibson. Plus I’m so drained…I just need a bath, a movie and to sleep.” She says kissing me on the cheek as she hops off the kitchen bar stool. “You sure?” It doesn’t feel right leaving her but if she needs time to herself. I don’t want to get in her way. She nods biting her lip. “Perhaps you can wake me up when back?” She says snaking her
Lugh POV I was already heading back to Kent. This time Orla and Cara with me. They had bonded really well and Cara seemed to have settled in with the coven. She was helping to teach the children potions and basic casting which was appreciated by the elders. She still felt guilty for her part in assisting Alpha Ashley and she was going into overdrive trying to make amends. We reached the Johnson Pack security gate and Leo waved me in. We parked up and knocked on the Alpha home. We could hear laughter inside so when Jeremy opened the door covered in toilet paper, Orla and Cara couldn’t withhold their fit of giggles. We walked in to see Lizzie also covered in toilet paper with Willow pouring vodka into shot glasses. “What’s going on?” Orla asks as she walks past me to grab a shot. “Games night. We thought we’d try the future married couple in their wedding attire.” Samantha responds loudly, clearly intoxicated. Brett nods to me and Willow walks over giving me a hug. “No kissing this
Willow POV It was the sun shining at my eyes that woke me up. I checked the time 1pm. Whoops I really did have a late night. I felt fantastic, rejuvenated and happy for the day ahead. I woke up to find Brett sitting on my bed with his laptop. As I sat up in bed he looked up at me. “Wils, your awake?” He said tucking my hair behind my ear. I smiled at him, at his cuteness for letting me lay in. “You could have used Jeremy’s office, I’m sure he wouldn’t have minded. You didn’t need to stay with me.”He looks at me oddly before replying. “Have you seen the state of Jeremy’s desk? Plus I’ve put pack business to the side a bit too long and Dad has been moaning at me.” “Brett if you need to go home..” I suddenly felt bad that we spent all our time here and not at his pack. “I’m quite capable of surviving a day with out you believe it or not!” I laugh. He continues to look at me oddly as he closes his laptop. “How are you feeling?” “Good, hungry.” I bounce out of bed and head for
Jeremy POVI quietly put some training clothes on while Lizzie sleeps peacefully in our bed. I’ll be back before she wakes none the wiser. She looked absolutely stunning last night and I still can’t believe she is all mine. I couldn’t wait to get her out of her dress last night, every time we tried to sneak out of the party, an alpha, a luna, a beta came up to congratulate us. My dick had been hard since I first saw her in that dress. I quietly close the door and walk over to Louis’ door. I open it gently to see him placing his shoes on. He looks up at me with sleepy eyes. “Morning.” He yawns at me. “Morning mate. You alright?”“Yeah, a late one but all good.” He nods at me. We walk down the steps to the middle floor to hurry Brett up. We gently knock on Willow’s door but get no answer. Gently opening the door and walking in. We find Brett spooning Willow from behind. Giggling Louis throws one of Brett’s shoe at his head which goes unnoticed by the two sleepers. Giggling, I also
