Chapter 6

The person doesn’t say anything so she turns around to find her longtime boyfriend, Tony, leaning against her locked bedroom door staring at her with a smirk on his face. They have been dating all through high school and still together after six years.

“You.” Is all he says as he looks at her with an emotionless face.

She smiles at him but stays where she is standing. “What are you going to do about it?”

He smirks and pushes off of the door before slowly walking to her. He bends down and kisses her on the lips and moves his tongue along her lips to enter her mouth. He unties her towel and lets it fall to the floor. He stands back and looks over her body.

Veronica is beautiful with deep olive skin and dark brown long wavy hair. Her hair cascades down to her mid-back. She has deep chocolate-colored eyes that look like they can see through your soul. Veronica stands up but does not bother to cover herself. “Fine.”

She rips his phone out of his hand and opens it. He attempts to grab it but she punches him in the temple and knocks him out. As he lays on the floor motionless, she goes through his phone and removes all pictures, videos, and her contact info off his phone. Then calls Cody to make sure the phone is thoroughly wiped.

She picks up the towel and ties it back around herself before Cody comes in. A few minutes later, Cody comes into her room and takes the phone to make sure it is wiped.

“Gavin, get this asshole out of my room. I don’t want him around us ever again.”

“Yes, Donna.” Gavin says with a smirk. He picks the guy up and throws him out of the house.

Veronica gets dressed and heads to the kitchen table to start going through the file box Peter gave her.

She spends about 4 hours going through all the contracts and business details in the box. She makes changes to some of the contracts and marks some to discontinue. Others she puts in a back burner pile until they could prove themselves worthy.

She gets a text around 3pm that says ‘Meeting at 5pm at the chamber building in the conference room.’

She does not respond to the text but instead sends a text to Peter.

Veronica: Get a family meeting set up for 8am tomorrow morning.

Peter: Yes, Donna. Where would you like the meeting held?

Veronica: The headquarters

Peter: Yes, Donna.

She continues reading through all the documents until it is 4:30. She packs everything away and puts the file box in her safe in the office. Then heads to the car to go to the chamber for her meeting with their traitors.

Her driver has switched cars to an all-black sedan with dark tinted windows so no one can see who is in it. She has on a pair of snug black slants with a red V-neckline flowy sleeveless shirt and black heels.

Gavin meets her at the back door of the chamber. “Donna. We are going to wait in here until everyone is in the conference room.”

Veronica nods but does not respond.

Gavin leads her into a room just inside the back door.

About 15 minutes later, Gavin gets a text and says, “Donna, they are ready for us.”

“Let’s go have some fun.” She says with a smirk. Gavin smiles and she leads them to the conference room.

When they get to the room, the door is open and they can hear Peter speaking.

“We have some great ideas for you all under the new leadership. I would like to introduce you all to the new head of the Sanchez Mafia.”

Peter motions his hand to the open door and everyone stands and claps. Then Veronica walks in and everyone stops clapping and just stares as she walks into the room.

“Oh wait, do you all think you have seen a ghost?”

“No, Donna. We’re just surprised is all.” Curtis says.

“Why are you so surprised? Expect someone else to be standing here?”

“You are just not who I expected Donna.” Dante says.

“One thing you should all know about me is that I am not easily fooled. You may have been able to get something past my father but you won’t be able to get past me.”

Everyone exchanges worried glances.

“Oh, come on. You don’t all think it’s by chance that we have invited who we did today right?” Veronica smirked and looked at the worried looks. “Oh, you did. That’s so sad.” She adds with a fake pout.

“Donna we can explain.” Sophia pleads.

“No need. We already have everything we need. And I’m sure by now you have figured out that this is not just the family involved. You can see we have some of the cartel here as well. What do you think we should do with them El Jefe?”

Javier comes walking into the room and his men jump from their chairs to show their respect to their boss. “Thank you, Donna. We will show no mercy.”

“Yes I agree. No mercy.”

With that, Veronica takes out her gun as Javier does the same. They shoot each member of their own organization. Veronica being a better shot having hit each target right between the eyes and Javier having to hit some of them twice before they die.

“Send the cleaners in.” Veronica orders.

“Right away, Donna.” Peter says as her and Javier walk past him.

“Thank you Jefe for coming today. You are welcome to stay as long as you would like. I would like to review our alliance contract while you’re here anyway if you have the time. That is if you want to continue with the alliance. Maybe we could talk over dinner?”
