Aurora Pov

I woke up excited, my contract with the kill was over and I was ready to go home and take my place as Princess of Vampires and heir to the throne. I was so nervous, worry was gripping my heart as the time drew closer. Will they accept me because I was a half-werewolf? 

I walked closer to Alberto's office when I heard him talking to one of the scientists who have been taking and experimenting on my blood, sometimes even on me. 

" Those creatures we created are too dangerous for the world, we need to destroy them now!" the frail voice spoke. 

" No, we will keep them and use them as weapons against the supernaturals, they have reigned too long," I heard Alberto's voice and my heart thumped in my chest. I knew he was working on a huge secret project but I didn't know he was making weapons to destroy my kind. I was failing to breathe as the two men discussed how well to use them. No, I won't let these selfish bastards destroy my people

" I don't think Aurora will appreciate using her blood, and toxin to destroy her kind," Cora spoke. Did she know about this too? My blood boiled with anger 

" And besides, her contract is coming to an end. We won't access her to complete the human weapon and she will need answers now as to whom killed her parents," Another lady spoke. 

" She is not getting anything until she agrees to renew her contract," Alberto was solemn. I was fuming with wrath and I marched out of there, going to my room. I got a bottle of liquor and a lighter. I dodged all the cameras in the organization and went to the lab. The guards were easy to fool because they thought I was going for my usual tests. 

Opening the lab, I gasp at the many bodies of monsters I saw there, so many! They were in hibernation. I recognize some as dead soldiers and my skin crawl. I checked every part and collected all the bottles of blood and toxin they got from me. I gulped the liquor and poured it around the room.

I set the entire lab ablaze, making sure nothing can be saved. I quickly ran out of there and out of the organization just as the siren went out, it took them exactly 3 minutes to blare. I got in the car and drove away, hopefully, they won't know I did it. Alberto will retaliate by locking me up in the organization and getting my blood if he doesn't kill me, he was a vindictive man. 

I tried to call Orion once I was clear but he ignored me again and it hurt. I've been apologizing for months.

 Reaching Crescent city, I let out a breath. Memories of what happened came rushing down on me and even after five years, I was unable to forget the passionate night I had with my childhood crush. 

A small smile made its way onto my lips as I drove past the large city gates. The clan was not too far from the packs and in twenty minutes, I got into the quiet, neat town with about over 1000 vampires

It has old beautiful infrastructure. The territory reminds me of one of the middle ages, I drive another five minutes before my GPS asks me to turn. I gasp at the sighting in front of me, There are old-styled mansions surrounding a huge castle, yes, A FREAKING CASTLE! 

I pack in front of the chateau with a beautifully maintained garden and lovely trees, it's obvious that the gardeners are obsessed with keeping it green and attractive, there are bushes of flowers of all types including my favorite bluebells and huge water fountains. I was too lost looking around in awe to sense Damon, he cleared his throat and I smiled, going to hug him. This hug was cold but my warm temperature made it ravishing and he sniffed my neck. We pulled apart and he caressed my cheek

" Welcome back home, Princess," He said and that's when I saw them. Behind him were about a dozen vampires, they are all tall with pale skin and ruby eyes. I inhale and look at Damon for support, he nods encouragingly as I approach. My heart pounds to my ears and when I'm in arm's reach, they bend the knee to me and lower their heads, recognizing me as their princess, my mouth part, and Damon is smiling from ear to ear.
