King Raleigh was sitting on his throne glaring at everyone present in the court. Recently his mood has always been worse but now it had turned worst. The two figures can be seen kneeling on the floor. King Raleigh sighed and said, "Tell me in detail."
One of them spoke, "Your highness, everything was going alright--but suddenly we were attacked and it looked like someone had leaked our info. It may take much longer time than the commanders had estimated."
"How could that happen?" King Raleigh asked furrowing his eyebrows.
"Those bandits were more stubborn and powerful than we had thought and they had lots of resources and ammunition for the war. It looked they were getting support from someone more powerful."
King Raleigh was silent for a while and said, "Who is so powerful in the northern border?"
"We are also currently investigating, your highness. Because of that attack, we suffered a little
King Raleigh and Ives enjoyed some peaceful time as lady Blaine went away angrily without disturbing them. King Raleigh knew he also had to tell Ives about the engagement and was thinking how Ives would react. He was still hugging Ives from behind and Ives was leaning on his chest. He kissed Ives's neck and said, "You know, I love you right." Ives slightly smiled and said, "Yes." Yes, I know even if you treated me like shit. King Raleigh tightly embraced him and said, "My engagement with lady Blaine is announced from two weeks now." King Raleigh felt Ives in his stiffing. There was no response from Ives and the atmosphere was silent. Just the cold breeze was blowing making Ives feel even colder. He knew it would happen and he understood it very clearly previously in a hard way but still, he felt like crying now. He somehow managed to smile an
It was a new day. The weather was calm and pleasant. Every street in the capital was decorated including the royal palace. Everyone was excited to meet his highness's cousin who was returning back to Raven after a long time. He was about to arrive any time soon and everyone was eager to see him. He was also loved and respected by everyone. Netizens were gathering alongside the street with flowers and gifts. In the royal palace, everyone including his highness and Ives was also waiting. For today Ives was allowed to come in the court alongside king Raleigh. Satchell Kainz, son of his highness's royal uncle and his dear cousin. They could already hear the cheer and shouting of the netizens from their palace and knew the prince was arriving near. Soon they heard the galloping and neigh of the horses. The carriage stopped in front of the royal gate. There was a grand welcome for prince Satchell. Prince Satchell
Everyone was enjoying the feast in the royal court so, they missed the menacing aura led out by King Raleigh and Prince Satchell. Both were staring at each other like they wanted to kill each other. If only stares could kill, there would be bloodbath going inside the court hall. Ives felt like he was crushed between two large stones with how both were behaving with each other. he thought it would be better if he went away from here. Ives looked at his teacher who was now free. He then bowed and said, "Your highness, I remember the task given by my teacher so, I will be taking my leave. Have a nice time." King Raleigh looked at Ives and immediately understood he was trying to leave the party. His worsened mood immediately improved and said, "Hm. You can leave." He then leaned near Ives's ear and whispered, "Wait for me in the palace." Ives just nodded his head and was about to go and he was again stopped by ki
That question made king Raleigh shut his mouth. Indeed, what would he choose? Both were important to him. He couldn't give up either of them. He looked at Ives who was looking at I'm waiting for his answers. He kissed Ives's forehead and said, "Don't think about unnecessary things. That day won't come where I have to choose. Be a good boy." "En." Ives smiled in pain. He didn't get the answer. The next day, Ives was standing in the garden watering the flowers. Gardening was also one of his hobbies and kept him busy in the palace. Prince Satchell was walking past the palace when he Ives standing in the middle of the garden. The sunlight enveloping him and his gentle smile mesmerized prince Satchell who just stood there like a statue for a while admiring Ives. He couldn't stop himself from admiring him even though he knew Ives already belonged to another person. He just couldn't stop himself from falling and none had made him feel lik
After Ives's short talk with Prince Satchell, he went inside his study room to study. He had been learning about more traditional medicinal herbs and poisons for a cure. His teacher Judas also had been teaching him alchemy after discovering his talent in making medicines and his knowledge about those plants. His teacher had given him the assignment to collect some plants which could be found in the forests of the Raven. But to go out of the royal palace, he needed the permission of his highness but his highness was busy attending the court. So, he just started to study for some time until his highness arrived. It was already afternoon when king Raleigh came back to the royal palace after being exhausted. Preparing for the engagement which was going to take place soon and some problems in the border which was now being handled by his two commanders was stressing him. he came back to Ives's study
Ives was returning back as it was already begun to grow dark. The two shadow guards were walking very far behind him not disturbing him. The place where he went was remote and none could be seen far far away. After collecting all the plants he required, he was walking back to his carriage. As he was about to enter inside the carriage, the arrow struck right beside his head on the carriage door missing an inch. Sweat flowed from his head as he gulped his saliva in fear. If he was just an inch right, that arrow would have pierced his head. He turned back to see where the arrow flew from. The two shadow guards were also alert. Soon they were surrounded by more than 12 bandits who had swords with them. Ives stood like a statue panicked. "Young master, please go inside the carriage. We'll handle them." One of the guards said. "What about you guys?" Ives a
Lord Nedes was aware of everything happening in the court and smiled drinking a sip of wine. Everything was going according to his plan and soon his plan would bear its sweet fruit. Although the arrival of prince Satchell wasn't in his plan still it wouldn't affect his plan. Lady Blaine came and sat in front of him. "How are you, my dear?" Lord Nedes asked. "I want to say you something bad." Lady Blaine replied with a sour expression. Lord Nedes sat straight and asked, "Did someone bully you?" "No, it isn't that. It's about prince Satchell." "What about him?" "I think he loves Ives." "What? How can you be so sure?" "I just saw his highness and prince fighting for Ives." Lord Nedes shows an amused expression, "What is he? Collecting men here and there."
The days were passing by quickly and the day which Ives hated and was anxious for finally arrived. It was finally the day of the engagement of King Raleigh Kainz and lady Blaine Sherwood. The whole royal palace was decorated with flowers especially white lilies and red roses. The long and wide red carpet was laid on the floor from the entrance of the palace to the royal garden where the engagement was going to take place. The warm winter morning with the gentle rays of the sun was covering the whole Raven kingdom. The kingdom was nuzzling with the citizens doing their own works. With their new king, His Highness Satchell Kains, there was some change in the Raven kingdom. His highness was very intelligent and was sure he would take the kingdom to a new height and make it even more powerful. Everyone was happy and satisfied. On the other side of the capital far away from the civilizations, King Raleigh had prepared everything for his marriage with Ives. He was feeling like it was a dream. Just a few years ago, he was mourning for Ives's death and was alone but now he was marrying the love of his life, his angel. King Raleigh was really gr
It took four days for king Raleigh to get well. He was suffering from a high fever with a common cold and some symptoms of frost bite were on his fingers and toes. Ives was grateful that king Raleigh didn't suffer from pneumonia at this state. Ge was unconscious for the whole four days. Ives always fed him medicines and stayed by his side checking king Raleigh's temperature from time to time. Under Ives's meticulous care, king Raleigh's condition got better and better. Finally, on the fifth day, king Raleigh showed some signs of waking up. Oliver had also left the house to go to the city for his job. So, Ives and king Raleigh were the only ones present in the house. When King Raleigh woke up, his head was still aching and was feeling dizzy. He looked around and saw none
The sun had already risen when Ives and his father, Oliver got ready to set off back to their home. Their home where they had been staying forever. Their own small paradise, surrounded and hidden deep in the mountains. The land free from the stains of the filthy world. The place where Ives's innocence and purity were left behind. They were ready. The king, the queen of the Wallace were sad but they had to let go. Ives had been staying with them for more than six months and were attached to him. Princess Rosanne was the saddest among all of the people. She had truly loved Ives. It was not some childish crush nor puppy love. Ives had really captured her heart. It was hard for her to see Ives leaving but still, she had to let go. She went towards Ives and said, "Bye, bye. I'll definitely not remember you." &nb
Ives was unconscious and was sweating, twitching his eyebrows. King Raleigh was holding Ives's hands all the time like it was the last straw in his life. He was also wiping away Ives's sweat from his face from time to time. Ives was unconscious for a day. It was finally the next morning when Ives slowly opened his eyes. Seeing Ives opening his eyes, King Raleigh who was resting on a couch near to him rushed over to Ives's side excitingly and asked, "Ives, are you alright?" By this time Ives had already recovered his lost memories. So, seeing king Raleigh after opening his eyes made him both surprised and bitter. He turned away his face not wanting to look at king Raleigh and asked, "What are you doing here, Raleigh?"
The new was starting. It was finally the day of engagement of Princess Rosanne and Ives. Before that day, Ives had tried his best not to think about that strange yet familiar man. He always stayed around princess Rosanne so that his mind would be occupied wouldn't wander off somewhere. It is said that the empty mind is the house of the devil. So, he was always around her as if he was trying to compensate her. King Raleigh also returned back to the Raven for some time to recover after receiving such shock. He had also received a message from Prince Satchell to return as the matter was very urgent. He thought it was better to leave instead of getting hurt. Ives was finally happy and was moving on. What could he do? He was stuck in between wanting Ives to remember him and was also afraid of his hatred. He also didn't have enough
Ives and Princess Rosanne returned back to the palace. Both of them were silent with their insecurities hidden inside their hearts on the way back making the ride silent. Ives was confused by his behaviour he showed back there himself. When he had seen that unknown man with a mask his heart was racing faster. He had forgotten about everything around him and was only looking at that man for a while. But remembering now why did he feel like he had seen that man somewhere before? But he hadn't seen that man's face but his instinct was screaming he must have known him somewhere before. Those thin lips felt too much familiar to him. Why was his heart beating anxiously? Why did the tears fall from both of their eyes? As soon as Ives came back to the palace, he directly went to his room after sending princess Rosanne off. Princess Rosanne
As soon as king Raleigh found Ives, he felt like he lost him too. He wanted to keep that sand so much with him that he clutched it so tightly he ended up losing it through the small gaps of his fingers. After such a long search, he had finally found his Ives but he felt like Ives was far from him. Too far to close off that wide distance. His Ives was actually marrying someone else. Someone other than him. He didn't want to believe it but all the evidence were in front of him. It wasn't a good feeling. He wanted to believe that wasn't his Ives but those features which those girls described fitted all of Ives's features perfectly. He was filled with sadness and jealousy. He finally knew how Ives had felt when he was going to marry Lady Blaine. King Raleigh had the taste of his own medicine and god... it was bitter. &nbs
King Raleigh had been travelling alone on his horse now for two weeks. He was searching for Ives everywhere he reached. He used to travel the whole day and rest at night. He would sometimes sleep in inns and sometimes outside. After getting tired for a whole day, he would sleep with the memories of Ives. The fact that Ives may be alive somewhere was keeping him going desperately. He was wearing normal black pants and a white shirt with a cravat. He wore a long cloak that hid his face so none could see his face and know he was the king. He travelled across rivers, hills, cities, towns but still couldn't get any signs of Ives. He used to ask every people he met but still, there was not any progress. It was always a failure. Sometimes fear kept welling from his heart thinking the god may not want him to meet Ives. Every night he used to have a nightmare of Ives being happy without him.
