CHAPTER #42“TRUTH”EMILY’S POV: “You are Lucca.” I said with a confidence I didn’t feel. I was weak, my body riddle with a dull pain, and my head was pounding. I felt like I had been in a train wreck, and I wasn’t entirely sure how I had gotten back to the infirmary. Her dull brown eyes still radiated with an internal fire, and although her body had been battered and abused, starved emotionally and physically, her spirit was still full of fire. Her ability to acknowledge the fact that her own mate sorely needed to be put to death truly made my own heart hurt for her. I could never imagine the internal torment she had to be going through. I turned to walk away from her the second time and once again her fragile voice broke though the room. “He needs to me killed. He will never stop and there will never be peace for anyone as long as he lives. He is no better than a rabid dog at this point.” I slowly turned and cast my eyes upon her face. She was matter of fact, and unremorseful as she spoke. I had an entirely new admiration, not to mention empathy for her. I gulped and nodded as my own heart pained for her.
