Loud chatters and sounds of cutleries hitting plates resounded in the wide pack dining hall. It was over thirty minutes after the mating ceremony of the alpha and Luna and they were all in high spirits. Different delicacies filled the tables to gluttony point, there was just more than enough. The hall itself was beautifully decorated in silver of course, the architecture was superb and the lighting and soft music playing added an out of the world feeling to the moment. Everyone was happy. Vince sat with Antonio and Valentina, opposite them, his little siblings at his sides. Healing wasn't something that happened in a jiffy but after watching Alpha Lorenzo almost die, he realized how fragile life was and how he could lose his loved ones at anytime. So he decided, instead of wallowing in anger and revenge, to allow himself give the love he couldn't give to his mother anymore. He would live his life to the fullest, his mother would want that. The two big masquerades sat at the head of
Raphaela hesitated, her hand outstretched, Hera's front door just inches away. "Let me." Lorenzo made to knock but she stopped him. "I have to." She said. She knocked. "Raphaela?" Lorenzo called, seeing how stiff her back was. He touched her shoulder. A hand suddenly grabbed it. He flinched. Raphaela slowly turned to him. "My Lorenzo." She whispered in her feathery creepy tone, her smile creepy as well. He shivered, the cold coming back full blast. She entangled their fingers, her hands felt like ice. "I wanted to give you a wedding present and since you can't come to me, I had to come to you." "Hera." He greeted. She smiled, "you've made me so proud of you." His bones were freezing, her black orbs sucked him into a deep bottomless cold pit. "Ask what you wish, I'll grant it." His teeth chattered as he made to speak. "Raphaela wants Julien Hugo to be remembered." He answered. "And do you want that?" "I want whatever she wants." Hera cocked her head and studied him care
Vince peeped around the corner. He discovered early that morning that Victoria lived just two houses away from him, with her grandmother. She was outside at that moment, sitting on the porch and thrumming a guitar softly. He swallowed, leaning on the wall. She looked like an angel. He yelled as someone suddenly grabbed him by the collar and threw him to the hard ground. "You coward." Victoria spat, kicking him on the stomach. He sprang up from the ground, brimming with fury or rather, trying to. "Why would you do that!?" He exclaimed, his voice coming out less angry than it should have. She folded her arms, looking up at him with a sneer. She was a feisty one, he thought, and she looked so pretty in her warrior attire and her brown hair being blown about by the wind. "Intrusion of privacy, you know what that is, huh? Don't you have any atom of shame, stalking a girl and hiding so cheaply like some child?" He was only half listening. "Where are we?" He questioned for they were
"Director Cicero, look at this. I found it in one of your mails." Director Cicero's secretary rushed over holding a big file. Cicero gestured that she place it on his desk as he was busy with something else on his computer. She did so. Because he never looked up at her even once, he didn't see the bewildered expression on her face and how she took one last glance at the large file before leaving his cramped office; cramped with files upon files and awards upon awards and several recording instruments. Severally he had been advised to clear out his office, even been offered help but he always refused saying he preferred it that way. After almost an hour, Director Cicero finally raised his head from his computer; he had on reading glasses; but he didn't reach for the file, instead he reached for his bottle of water. Minutes later, another file landed on it then another then another, by the end of the day, the secretary had unknowingly packed it with the other load of files and there it
Vince's mouth drew into a thin line, seeing he didn't have any other way to brush her off. He kept silent, focusing on his printing and photocopying. He was done in a few minutes. After arranging them all in a file, he turned to her, very much unenthusiastic."I still have one more thing to do, you can leave first." He was already out the door.Victoria jumped up from her pretense dozing, "I'll go with you."She followed him to where the announcement board was and waited as he pasted the statements on it. It was just on the way to the training ground.Vince took more time than needed. When he couldn't avoid it any longer..."Let's go." He said coldly.Victoria immediately followed after him, matching, to Vince's dismay, his long quick strides."I know I hurt your ego the last time we met" She spoke as they walked, "and I would like to apologise for that. I'm sorry."He said nothing. She slapped his arm causing him to flinch."I can get angry too, you know" She says, frowning, "it isn'
Vince didn't know how Victoria ended up sitting with him but he sure as hell didn't like it.Almost throughout the entire dinner, he avoided her, chatting instead with others but after everyone had retired to their homes and he had sent off Choco and Valerie to Lydia's house, he couldn't avoid her any longer."Coward." She muttered again as they packed the dishes. It still stung him a bit when she called him that but she had said it so often, he was already used to it. He played the silent card, completely ignoring her. It only made her more angry and desperate. She endured for the duration they spent cleaning up but the second he stepped out the door, she was at his throat."Take one step and I'll make sure you never walk again." She glared at him.He halted, out of fear of her actually carrying out her threat and because he also really wanted to hear what she had to say."What in the name of the Moon goddess has you so uptight? Huh? You so much claim to be a man yet you can't handle
Vince snapped his eyes open for what felt like the hundredth time. There was no one there. He checked the time. It was just about thirty minutes since he woke up from that dreary dream and he was still curled up in a ball. Each time he closed his eyes and tried to sleep, he would feel the presence of darkness, something evil, like someone was looking down closely at his face. He was terrified. He perked up his wolf hearing, listening for sounds in the house. He could hear the light chatter of beta Antonio and Valentina in the kitchen and..."Vincenzo."He sprang up from his bed, his heart thudding wildly in his chest. His head moved from side to side frantically, searching for who had called his name."I beg you, Moon goddess." he whispered repeatedly and desperately. There was no one in the room. He sat with his legs hugged tightly to his chest, his eyes feverishly wide open, staring at his room's door entrance. He didn't even realize he was shedding tears."I'm sorry, mama. I'm sorr
