Chapter Four

“Why are you serving him all the delicious meals? What about me? Today is my birthday," Amira pouted cutely, making everyone chuckle. Her cute doe eyes won't stop staring at Ryan's plate of food. At this point, she looks so cute and Ryan nearly lost himself staring at her cute face.

“Of course, I reserved yours. You are the birthday girl and you deserve the best tonight," Hilary said, still smiling at her daughter's cute childish act. After making sure Ryan has enough food on his plate, she also placed delicious foods on Amira's plate. 

The lovely family ate happily. After lunch, Amira still stuck around Ryan who was definitely enjoying her company. He missed her a lot and just like Amira, he doesn't want her out of his side. 

Amira only left Ryan's side when her best friend, Nancy, arrived with the makeup artist who will make Amira up. 

It's already five pm and it's time for Amira to get ready for her birthday party. Her guests will arrive soon. 

Amira was so happy to see her friend, Nancy, who has been away for two weeks. The two girls hugged each other sweetly before striding to Amira's room. Nancy met Amira's parents before going to Amira's room and the couple were happy to see Nancy. Both Hilary and her husband love Nancy for being a good friend to Amira.

“Your dress is so beautiful," Nancy said the moment she entered Amira's room and saw the beautiful barbie dress on display.

“Thanks. Mum got that for me and I love it," Amira replied. 

She settled down on a chair in front of the vanity mirror in her room while the makeup artists did her work. 

The two girls have a lot to catch up with even though they were only two weeks apart. During their conversation, Nancy raised that topic which always makes her blush. It's about Ryan. 

Nancy has been crushing on Ryan for the past three years now. Amira was the one that showed Ryan's old pictures to her and she instantly fell in love with him. She was so happy when Amira said that Ryan will be coming back on her twentieth birthday. She started preparing for this birthday a long time ago. She wants to look her best on the day she will first meet the man she loves.

“Did you ask him if he has a girlfriend?" Nancy asked. She and Amira had talked about that. Like they talked about, Amira will have to ask Ryan if he has a girlfriend so that Nancy will know her stand. Nancy has been wishing that Ryan won't have a girlfriend. She believes that if he doesn't have a girlfriend, there will be an eighty percent chance of her being his girlfriend.

“Oh! My gosh! I forgot. Don't worry babe, I will definitely ask him tonight."

Amira was busy telling Ryan of how she lived her life in the past five years and she forgot to ask him if he already has a girlfriend.

The girls talked about many other things before it was time for Amira's birthday party to commence. The make up artist was already done with her makeup and after that, she put on her dress. Finally, she appeared gorgeous like a barbie princess. She looks so beautiful and irresistible. 

Nancy also dressed up beautifully and as always, she appeared glamorous.

Ryan was welcoming and greeting the guests with his father. Most of the guests who knew Ryan were so happy to see him again after five years. 

Amira doesn't have a lot of friends, so most of the people in her party are her relatives, her neighbors and her parents' friends and business partners. 

Just as Ryan was greeting a guest, the MC announced the arrival of the birthday girl. Every eye shifted towards the grand staircase and they all started clapping the moment they saw Amira descending the staircase with Nancy by her side.

Everyone was clapping except Ryan who was lost staring at the beauty goddess as she descended the staircase. The grip on the wine glass he's holding tightened and his throat felt dried. He gulped down into nothing as Amira started approaching him with Nancy whom he didn't even notice her presence because his eyes were fixed on Amira. He was so lost that he forgot to bat his lashes. He didn't even know that Amira was already close to him and was waiting for him to compliment her dressing. 

He was able to snap out of his daze when he felt a touch that sent shivers down his spine. He didn't need a sorcerer to tell him that the person who touched him was Amira. Only her touch could make him feel that way. 

“Ryan?" Amira called with her sweet voice. Ryan blinked his eyes and cleared his throat. At this moment he's finding it so difficult to behave, especially when Amira smiles sweetly. She still has the beautiful smile on her face and it highlighted her beauty. This smile of hers made her look so gorgeous and tempting. In fact, she looks irresistible. At this point, Ryan is greatly fighting within himself. His adam apple has already shifted and he prayed that it won't stand like a giant tree any moment from now.
