"John, how could you say that? Sandra was married to you for so many years, and you couldn't even recognize her voice?"

John, suppressing his anger, got up from the ground and impassively brushed imaginary dirt off his clothes.

"Mom, do you really want me to expose everything right here and make everyone uncomfortable?"

"Fine, I'll satisfy you today, but don't come crying to me for forgiveness later!"

John grabbed his phone and dialed my number. After a brief, busy tone, the call connected. No one spoke on the other end. Only faint breathing could be heard.

John's face twisted with anger as he spoke coldly into the phone, "Sandra, are you done making a scene?

"My mom is old enough not to play these childish games with you."

Naturally, there was no answer, only a few soft chuckles in response. John gritted his teeth, nearly crushing the phone in his hand. "Sandra, you still have the nerve to laugh?
