Chapter 66

“Please, I swear, I would not say a word to anybody. I would remain mute till I die. I won't say a word,” I heard Catherine's cry even before I got into the room where she was kept.

When I got in, she was sitting on a chair, her hands or legs weren't tied but she was guarded by two Beckers.

“Maria J, help me. Help me” she cried. I looked from her to Lance who walked over to where she sat. He took one of the seats there in the room and sat.

“I want to kill you but—-”

“Please, please, I beg you. Don't kill me”

“Shut up, Catherine” Lance glared at her and she pressed her lips together. I could see the beads of sweat on her forehead. Her cheeks stained with tears and she gulped from time to time.

“I'll ask you only two questions, your answer will determine whether I release you or not. Actually, I can't kill you because I had promised my darling that I wouldn't,” he turned to look at me.
