Faith sat at the small table as Aurora and Arden stood on either side of the kitchen, Aurora had asked Eli to play in his room while they talked. Eli had nodded and walked to his room to play with his toys."This seems all so serious," Faith said as she sat down at the table. Aurora looked from her mother to Arden. She wasn’t sure what her mother would decide to do. "Eli and I have obviously decided to go to Arden's pack, but the invitation has also been extended to you as well, mom," Aurora said. Faith's eyes widened in surprise. Whatever Aurora was going to say, she had not expected that. "Me? Move to a werewolf pack?" Faith asked again. Aurora only nodded. Faith sat at the small table and thought about it. She wasn’t quite sure why the idea sounded so appealing, but it did. She looked up at her daughter and the mate that her daughter was apparently mated to. "What are we to do with our homes?" Faith asked. Aurora let out a breath that had not realized she had been holding. "We
The following day was a Friday and Eli had a school Halloween parade that Aurora had said she would help the other mothers with. Aurora let Arden know who seemed excited about the idea of joining her. Aurora asked Eli if he would like Arden to come as well. Eli had seemed appalled that Aurora would even ask. "Of course, I want him to come momma!" Eli exclaimed. Aurora laughed as she helped Eli get dressed in his costume. He would take the bus that morning and then Aurora and Arden would follow later with the party supplies that Aurora had agreed to bring to his school. Aurora and Arden waved to Eli as he raced to the bus and walked up the streps. He sat down in his assigned seat quickly and waved out the window. One of his classmates noticed Eli waving and saw that there was a man standing with his mom. "Is that your mom's boyfriend?" The other little boy asked. Eli nodded proudly and turned back to the front of the bus. Today was going to be a good day, Eli thought. He could no
Eli's eyes lit up when he came through the door of the classroom. He ran straight for Aurora and Arden. "You’re here!" He exclaimed. Arden smiled down at Eli. He wondered how this small boy had been able to pierce his heart so quickly. It was true that Eli was n ot his son, but that did not stop the fatherly feeling from over taking Arden. He would protect this child with his life. "Class please sit down for a moment before we start the parade," the teacher called from the front of the classroom. Eli waved and then went to find his seat. Aurora smiled at Arden. She could feel the warmth spreading through her. Whether it was from her emotions or his, she wasnt sure. The teacher explained the rules around the parade and that they would go first and then once they sat down the other grades would then go. All the children began to chatter amungst themselves. All the kids were excited. Eli sat in front of the class, in his dark ninja costume. His anticipation flowed from him. As Arden
"It seems you are losing your edge," Veronica commented on Lila's effort to scare Arden's mate. Lila had watched from a distance and noticed his mate’s mother. She seemed to play a part in his mates’ life. Lila hoped that doing something to the mother was enough of a warning to stay away from the pack. "What do you mean?" Lila asked Veronica before she traveled back to her own office. "Before you would have killed the old woman and been done with it. Why let her live?" Veronica asked. She was genuinely curious. "If I were to kill her, there would be no doubt that Arden and his mate would return for vengeance," Lila said. She was growing more and more annoyed with Veronica's tone the longer she was there. Lila had what she needed. She knew where Arden was. She would be able to keep an eye on him from now on since Veronica had been able to lift the cloaking spell completely. Veronica shrugged her shoulders as if Lila's answer had no importance to her. "Do what you want, just reme
Aurora and Arden made sure that Faith was comfortable. She would need to stay off her feet for a little while. Aurora offered to help her mother after they took Eli trick or treating. Faith declined her help. She said that she just needed to lie down and then she would finish her packing. Seeing as they were going to come back, Faith would just pack lighter than she had originally planned. Aurora did not like the idea of leaving her mother alone once more, but she did not press her mother as Faith seemed adamant. Aurora Arden and Eli all left to go back to Aurora's house. Arden helped Eli fix his costume before they walked around the neighborhood. Aurora quickly changed into warmer clothes and removed her fairy costume. Eli's mood seemed downcast after seeing that Faith was not going to be joining them for trick or treating. Arden did a decent job of trying to distract him. He had told Eli that Faith wanted a full report afterwards on which house had the best candy. With the tas
Arden understood the need for Aurora to talk to the elderly couple. With Cameron deceased she was unable to ask him and as far as he knew, Aurora wanted nothing to do with his parents. Arden wondered if there as more to the story. He knew that he would need to learn it in time. Te last thing he wanted to do was take Aurora back down that dark road. "Of course, we can delay a bit longer. Whatever you and Eli need," Arden said. Aurora gave him a thankful smile. Arden kissed her. It was meant to be a comforting kiss, but when their lips connected, the mate bond took over. Before they knew it, Arden and Aurora were once more tumbling into bed and enjoying the feel of one another. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning, Aurora stood outside of the elderly couple's door. Faith had already come over to sit with Eli. Aurora had explained to her mother what had happened, and Faith agreed that s
"What happened to the rest of the Crimson Pack?" Arden asked Edith. He had only heard about the abolishment. He had no idea what happened to its members as the Alpha was the only one who seemed afflicted with the curse. "From what I was told, some went to neighboring packs, and others decided to live among the human towns. Robert and I tried to come back and save the pack, but it was too late. All the pack members had dispersed." Aurora could hear the pain in Edith's words. The woman was upset about losing the pack that she had been a part of. "I cannot feel you or your husband's aura. Have you lost your wolves?" Arden asked Edith gently. He did not want to upset the woman, but it was rare for a previous Luna or Alpha to have their wolves stripped from them. Edith nodded her head. A few more tears streaked down her cheeks. "When Robert and I decided to live in a human town, both of our wolves left us," Aurora was surprised to hear this. She assumed that their wolf counterparts st
Arden returned to Aurora's house in his car. Faith had dropped him off back at his bar to square things away and pack his own items before returning with his vehicle in order to travel in. His newer car a bit more reliable than Aurora's Arden walked through the kitchen and made a mental list before writing down an actual list. He had already let his second in command know what was happening and he had no issue with taking over for Arden for the time being. Arden did not tell him though that he was not sure when he would return. That would be a conversation for another time. Arden walked up the steps to his apartment above and grabbed one of the large bags that sat in the top of the small closet. He packed his personal items that he brought with him and a few pairs of clothes but ultimately the rest of his things were still at the pack house. If Lila had not thrown them out. With that thought, Arden packed a few more pairs of clothes before grabbing the zipper and shutting the bag.
