Carlos POV
"How was the book? Have you read it?" Miguel asked once he entered my office.
"Still in the midst of that. Why are you here?" The truth was I completed the book on the first day I got it from the bookstore. I won't tell him about the truth, thinking about the possibility that it will become a joke among them later. I shifted my attention away from my laptop looking at him that was dressed in his blue suit.
"Don't tell me you forget about it. We are going to hang out later with Tristan and Manuel." He said taking a seat across my table. I sighed hearing his word. I really forget about it and wasn't in the mood neither to hang out. My mind was occupied with the book for the last few days. I'm planning to read it again tonight.
"I don't think I will be joining later," I said refusing him.
"No way, we are not going to take that as an answer. They wouldn't agree with either. Don't be the joy killer." He warned.
I sighed at his persistence. The four of us were really close with each other and we always hang out together at our favorite bar on Friday night and weekend.
"Will I ever have my me-time?" I questioned irritably.
"You will have that once you have your girlfriend." He hollered laughter and stood away from the chair.
"See you at 7, don't forget or else we will barge into your house. You know that." He chided and strode to the door ready to leave.
"Yeah, I will be there, by force!" I replied ignoring his laughter that echoed in my room.
Nighttime
"You are here, finally." I heard Manuel's voice at the moment I walked closer to the VIP room on the second floor of the bar where three of them were already seated with a bunch of drinks on the glass table.
"Yeah, by force anyway." They chuckled at my reply. Tristan poured me some drink and handed me the glass that contained red liquid.
"Come on, since when do you need your me-time?" Miguel teased me while laughing at his own remarks.
"Miguel said something happened during your business trip last week. What was that about? We heard that someone said she will marry you." Tristan's words make me having a flashback of the memory of last week. A sweet memory instead and I wouldn't mind if it keeps appearing in my head.
"Gossiping about me, huh?" I mocked, taking a sip of my drink.
"We don't call it gossiping but this is call brotherhood's support. You can share with us about the girl that keeps dancing in your mind." Miguel exaggerated it.
"Do you think my mind is a dancing place for people to dance? No one is inside my head." I fibbed. It caused them to laugh.
"Don't lie. We know she is the one that makes you want to have some time alone which sounds absurd." Manuel chuckled and followed by the rest.
"If she is not the one, maybe you wouldn't mind if I try her out. Even though I didn't see her face last time but from her voice, I think she looks decent and pretty." Miguel's comment made my eyes widened.
"Don't you dare," I warned him, still in a friendly way, straight to the point.
"Wooo," they teased me and I could see that they enjoyed it damn much.
"Someone is falling in love," Tristan said which make me shook my head.
"I'm not falling in love." I shook away their thought.
"I couldn't imagine she dares to write a story about you," Tristan said with a smile on his face, amused with the fact.
"Tell me about it, I'm more surprised than you and I think until now she didn't notice that what she wrote was real. I mean the name, the company name, and my background in the story."
"Maybe the book turned out to be a best seller because you are the character in the book. The story of a famous billionaire, who wouldn't want to read it out. The girls will go crazy over the book." Manuel added.
"Look what I found. Your name was the hot search for the past few weeks. Carlos Gonzales's real love story is out. A hot CEO was taken. Carlos-" Miguel read out the result from his online search but I stopped him and snatched the phone away from him.
"That is unbelievable. I mean, yeah, we get used to being the hot search but this is ridiculous. People might think that the story is really related to your real-life but it wouldn't be a big deal if the book doesn't have any negative element." Tristan spilled out his opinion.
"I finished the book and it was good-"
"Wait, what did you say? You, Carlos Gonzales reading a novel? I never see that coming." Manuel's words make the rest of them laughed. I sighed looking at them enjoying their time. Wait till their time come and that time I will be the one laughing at them.
"Yeah, continue laughing for now and it will be my turn when you guys found someone in the future," I smirked.
The time flies which mostly they talked about me, the girl, and the book. I could feel how much they were entertained with me as their main topic for tonight. I wasn't felt irritated but every time they mentioned her, there was a weird feeling that controlled my body.
As if, I was walking on air.
I changed into the sweatpants but left myself shirtless after the shower. I didn't plan to do my work at night as my mind was invaded by the book. There is a feeling inside me that urged me to read the book again and I did it anyway.
"Carlos Gonzales, 30 years old, CEO of Amigos Co., the only son in the family and one of the richest men in the world. Gentleman and currently looking for his soul mate," I read the introduction of the book and smiled at the way he described me.
I'm not a person who reads fiction books, especially about romance. I always feel it was too cliché for me but when I tried to read her book it made me smile over each sentence. It made me wondered it was the story itself or the thought about her that made the smile continuously plastered on my lips.
I placed the book on my chest while recalled the memory of her in the restaurant.
"I love Carlos Gonzales."
"I will marry him if he is real."
Her statement kept repeating in my head all the time, like how Miguel claimed earlier. It made me smile happily like a person that falling in love. She attracted me in a way that I couldn't describe.
My phone ringtone snapped me back to reality. I wondered who will be the caller as it was late. I looked at the screen and the name made me excited. I have been waiting for his call for today and I even reminded him to call when he got what I wanted, regardless of the time.
"Tell me good news," I said immediately.
"Someone is being impatient." He teased.
"Yeah, whatever you want to say. Did you get what I want?" I urged.
"Of course, check your email. I send all her details to you." Marcus, on the other line, my secret investigator spoke.
"Great! I will check it out now. Thanks, bro." I hang up the phone the next second and immediately sat on the bed. I grabbed my laptop from the nightstand. I turned it on and access my email looking for his name.
I clicked the attached file and the first page of the document made a smile crept on my face. It was her picture and it was breathtaking. She has light curly brown hair, hazel eyes in perfect brown, plump lips, and fair skin. She smiled beautifully in the picture. It was a picture of her sitting in the coffee shop while busy writing something on the book and with cupcakes, a cup of drink, papers, and some writing materials on the table.
I moved to the next page of the document and read the content. It was about her background. It mentioned there she was in an orphanage and her family died when she was a kid. She grew up in an orphanage house. She graduated in English Writing and she worked in Publisher Company.
"Single, 28 years old. Perfect age for me. Too perfect," I commented, smile sheepishly at my own thought. I scanned all the details about her carefully, not wanting to miss anything about her.
I looked at the photo of her mesmerizing beauty and I suddenly got an idea. I send the photo to my phone and make it my phone wallpaper. I did the same on my laptop. I off the laptop once I was satisfied with the wallpaper on the front screen.
I lied on my bed and covered myself with the duvet. I glanced at her photo on the screen of my phone while holding the book. I didn't realize when the darkness took over me until I was drifted to a night of deep sleep.
"I will come to you soon, Cupcake."

Cassandra POV"Cassandra, I'm going to the bank tomorrow and Michael won't be in. I need your help to take care of the cafe." Scarlet said with her puppy eyes."You don't need to make that face. I got it," I replied which made her danced in joy. "But, I will claim for my salary end of the month," I continued making her haul her dance."I know what you meant by salary. Don't worry I will make you a hundred cupcakes. You loved cupcake more than money." She said giggling. I threw the pillow to her but she managed to escape to her bedroom before that pillow hit her. I shook my head at her childish behavior and laughed afterward.Morning in the cafeIt wasn't a busy day in the cafe today. Only a few tables were occupied and I still can manage it till Scarlet come back. This wasn't my first time either to be in the cafe alone. I'm a writer and my job d
Carlos POVI expected to see her at the counter once I stepped into the cafe but she was nowhere to be seen. I only noticed there was one guy busy entertained the customer at the counter. Cassandra POV"Why are you running away yesterday, Cupcake?" I heard a hoarse voice behind me."Cupcake?" I repeated the last word silently. The voice sound familiar. I spun my body instantly looking for the source. I was terrified of the sight in front of me.He leaned on the wall with his hand tugged in his pocket. He dressed in black jeans and a blue Polo shirt that hugged his toned body perfectly."Smart as always", I praised inaudibly."You are drooling over me again," he smirked."I-I'm not." I protested even though I indeed was."That is okay, Cupcake. I love it when you look at me like that." He confessed arrogantly."What do you want from me?" Now, I was terrified of this person that claimed himself as 'Carlos Gonzales', the hero that I created in my book. I looked around at the surroun
Cassandra POVI knocked on the door and entered when the person inside the room gave me permission to enter."Boss, I'm here. You were looking for me?" I inquired. I came to the office today as he requested."Yes, Cassandra. We need to talk about something important." His facial expression was firm. I could tell that something was not right at this moment. It made me felt uneasy."What is this about?" I asked."It's about your best seller book. Let's go, we need to meet someone in the meeting room." He stood up from his place and walked out of the room. I followed him from behind even though I don't know what was going on.As we entered the room, my eyes caught on someone with a dark blue suit sitting in the meeting room. I couldn't see his face as his back was facing us."Sorry to make you wait, Mr. Gonzales." My boss gr
Carlos POV"Cupcake, I'm sorry I couldn't fetch you. I have some urgent things need to settle. I will send one of my friends to pick you up. His name is Miguel." I said to her over the phone. I was disappointed when my assistant suddenly told me about the problem with the new project that we have. I can't let anyone handle it as they will screw everything over. It will turn worse.
Cassandra POVThere was a car waiting for us when we arrived. The driver took us to the penthouse. It was huge and breathtaking. Living here will be nice, I muttered to myself but I immediately changed my mind once I learned that the penthouse belongs to the arrogant man; Carlos Gonzales."No, I'm not going to stay here." I protested.
Cassandra POVI chose short pants and a beige t-shirt for today. I make my hair in a messy bun. I moved to the kitchen looking for food as my stomach was growling. I just remember that I didn't have my dinner last night and I fell asleep on the couch while reading in his study room.I saw him in the kitchen preparing something.
Cassandra POV"Yes."That one simple word from him almost crashed my world. Tears started to brim in my eyes. I can't look into his eyes, so I stare blankly on the grass underneath my feet. I chanted quietly in my head to warn myself not to drop single tears in front of him.
One year laterCarlos POV"Carlos, this is not the way to your home," she noticed that I drove the car to a different path.
Cassandra POVMy mind kept thinking about all my activities with Carlos for the last few weeks. I really saw his effort to make me forget my awful past. Just as he promised, he wanted to create many memories with me and turn my scary thought about the darkness into something beautiful.I was brought back to reality with a quick peck on my lips. I looked at him with

Cassandra POV"Carlos Gonzales, come back here." I raised my voice and begged him. He ignored me and closed the door behind making me gasped with his action. It was a joke but he took it seriously. I forget that I have one grumpy boyfriend with zero sense of humor.
Carlos POV"You should go back home. At least take a quick shower, we will take care of her.""We will call you immediately in case she wakes up.""You need to take care of you
Carlos POV"Carlos, there is a signal from Cassandra." Tristan's voice immediately sends some hope to me. I ran towards him turning my eyes on the screen that he kept monitor with two of his people. "See the red dot, that's the signal from her. She is somewhere around there," he pointed to the red dote that beeping on the map. I noticed the others were standing near us too, looking in the same direction.
Cassandra POVSince Carlos attended the seminar with his beloved secretary during the weekend, I choose to spend time with Scarlet in order to forget about my argument with Carlos this morning. I don't know what happen to him, but he seems to keep defending his secretary as if I was being paranoid."Why are you so angry, babe?"
