I returned to the mansion after staying out for days. Trey had gone back home to be with his wife, promising to return as soon as she was done with chemo.

On getting home, I noticed how serene everywhere was. I was greatly bothered by it. Balia wasn't home. Why did I return here when all that brought me back was her?

It had been tough to admit it. But most times, I always returned to be close to her. Before she came, I spent most of my time in my hotel. Sometimes, I did not return to the mansion for weeks, and whenever I returned, I didn't exceed three days.

The excitement and expectation were no longer there.

On getting into the house, I found Tina standing before one of the cleaning maids. She was instructing her on something but stopped immediately when she saw me.

She stared at me for a while, wanting to say something. I saw it in her eyes, too.

Then she walked up to me. "You haven't been home for days. Are you alright?"
