“What are you doing this?” I questioned looking at him with wide eyes as he pulled the syringe ready to inject it in me. Though the bottle does not expose what is inside it, I can still figure it out due to the smell. The fear and eagerness to just free my hands. Already, Willow is so weak, and upon that again a dosage would just make her situation worst. “Are you mad?” I yelled as he came to me and smirked looking at me.
The jerk was enjoying seeing my condition, “Ahh, it’s so good seeing you like this.” I had before thought that just behaving calmly would get me some time until Adrian and Marcus arrive but instead it is happening completely opposite. The situation just got worsen, I think. “What? Did you really think I would trust you? I very well know that now, or just not long after your pack members will arrive and you are just making time until then.”
Hearing him, I felt dumb enough to even think that he could not guess about my pretention. Though seeing him holding up the syringe and taking my arm in his hand made me shiver with fear but not anymore I can’t let him see my weak self. “Of course, you are an expert in pretending so, it must be easy for you.” If provoking would help me then I am definitely not going to back off.
Clenching his jaw, he took my chin between his thumb and finger making me wince, “Just as expected for the former luna to be. You know this is it when it is much more exciting, otherwise to tame a weak who accepted her loss is just so boring.”
I scoffed at his words, “Saying the one who out of fear already has wolfsbane injected inside me. You are worst than even a scared puppy.”
“How dare you?” His grip tightened on my chin as he got agitated. We, our kind do not even a bit like to be compared to or called a puppy, and it is just the easiest way to trigger any werewolf. But, I did not pay attention to its consequence which I actually was stopping him from, and regretted when he without any mercy injected the needle in my arm. “Puppies, are innocent. Poor they, don’t understand anything and do mistakes.”
Not even seconds later, my vision got blurred making me feel numb. I was not able to feel anything around me, not even his hard grip on my arm. “Perfect,” He snickered and, “You don’t even know what you are, but I know and I am going to make sure for it not to go waste.” He murmured and laughed evilly letting go of my arm and calling for his men. “Louis…” Seconds passed but no one responded making him pissed, “What the hell?” He murmured and walked towards the door giving a careful look.
“Are you all deaf? Why is no one responding…” He paused and silence took place making me confused with the thought of what he was up to next. But, due to feeling weak and my blurred vision I am not able to even see anything. “Where the hell everyone is fucking up?” I flinched as his voice rang out in the corridor and echoed back.
“Alpha.” Voice came urgently as the response.
“What is going on? Why is no one here in the position?”
Just such a cruel alpha, his way of talking is enough to answer how he takes care of the pack. “Alpha, someone attacked the pack and I went down to see what the ruckus is all about, therefore…”
“Why have I am not informed about it yet?” He questioned but did not wait for the answer as he continued. “Just stay here and keep your eyes on her. If something happens here, then be ready to face the consequence. And, you better not try something in my absence or else others will have to take the punishment instead of you.”
Adrian’s POV
“Alpha, our members already got into work. We should be quick, I don’t think they can handle it without any bleeding for long.” Marcus said as we get inside the house, “Luna, I mean Devi must be waiting for us. Don’t know what the motherfucker have made her go through, I am already scared.”
“I will distract the guards for you, while you just have to take her away. Definitely, she must not be in great condition.” I said knowing well enough, he might get himself in trouble with all his thoughts and mind being distracted by Devika. So, I thought of letting him be with his luna would be helpful for every one of us.
But, being the former beta of this pack, the emotions were clearly taking place in him. But still, he was attentive enough to his surrounding, “Alpha, I think you should go to Devi while I will manage the guards if there will be any. I know the way to outside the pack well, you might get lost.”
I chuckled hearing him after which he again continued, “And, Joseph should not know that you are here, or else he would go against you and take you as his enemy. It will get personal whereas it is due to us. He might then target the whole pack which neither Devi nor I will like, so better would e for you to go to her.”
“Are you trying to tell me what I should do?” He questioned feeling him being again nervous but this time not only for Devika but also for me. He instantly stopped on his track and turned towards me, “What? Were not you?”
He sighed, “Alpha, how can you even attempt joking in such a situation? You already know how tense I am, and you for the first time came here therefore, I asked you to go for Devi. Until you escape here with her, I would keep the guards and others distracted.” Seeing the desperation in his eyes, I nodded as talking while standing in the middle of the hall is not only risky but also trouble for the warriors fighting outside just to be a distraction.
“Let’s go and make it quick,” I said and we straight walked out to the cell somehow managing to escape the guard with the help of our warriors whom Samuel sent knowing well enough we would need them. And, not to our disappointment Devika really was kept in the corner cell. And, no doubt for the first time I saw her in the weakest of her form ever.
“Luna, luna,” Marcus ran to her in a matter of seconds, “Luna, please… please open your eyes.” Tapping her cheeks and shaking her shoulders he tried to wake her up.
“Here.” Getting the water kept out of the cells for the guards, I gave it to him taking which he sprinkled on her face. But, even if she would wake up I don’t think her situation would in any case be good. Seeing the paleness on her paleness I got sure that it is not a simple matter of her being unconscious. It is something more urgent, here. “Marcus, we should not waste time on this. We should just get going before anyone comes or her situation worsens.”
Sniffing and rubbing his nose, he got untying her hands. “Alpha, I’m sorry but I think you will have to carry her.” I raised my brow at his words but then the situation definitely asked for it as he actually said. “I would have done that but as we decided, I will go ahead of you both to see if the path is clear.” I will have to say since Devika and her pack came into our pack, they have managed to make a place for themselves not only in the pack but also in pack members’ hearts.
Especially Devika, even in her life’s tragic moments she managed to make a place for her members along with herself. And, not only pack members’ hearts but also all the high-rank elders who do not allow some outsider to get into our pack easily. The respect she gained in the last few months is really appreciable but amid all these, her loneliness went unnoticed.
If I am asked to give an example of a true luna, I would take her name. Even after losing her position, this woman did not lose her responsibility. Her mate must really be proud of her, “Alpha, you should leave. The path is clear,” I nodded, instantly walking towards the packhouse but was not lucky enough to get away easily.
One of the guards was out of nowhere upon us and was tackled by Marcus making me growl. “Alpha, please leave here. I will follow you in a matter of seconds, please.”
“We should have known that you must be here, not finding you with the rest of your people. Of course, the beta loyal beta will come here to save his luna.” Even having his neck gripped in Marcus’s arm, the guard laughed as if he made a joke. “After all, both are mateless now, must be fulfilling each other in replacement.”
“HOW DARE YOU?” Marcus whisper yelled at him and not even taking a second longer just snapped his neck separate from his body. “Bloody motherfucker.” Cursing him he kicked the head like a football while breathing heavily. It is good that Devika is unconscious or else she might have felt so humiliated.
Seeing him breathing heavily with anger, I had no choice but to take him along with us. He gets himself in trouble and everyone knows him which would automatically attract trouble. “Marcus, come on. Let’s go, we have to get out of here.”
But, his wolf took over him as he replied, “No, Alpha. I have to go, I have to take revenge upon my Alpha’s killer. Coming till here, I cannot leave just like that.”
“What are you even saying? Do you even realize that it’s not the right time? Why the heck did we came up with all of this plan when we could have attacked directly?” I am so done with this guy, just opposite of Devika.
“Alpha, please you should leave. Her life is precious, she needs to survive not to like me. Even if I die, I don’t care. I will be happy as I will die in an attempt of taking revenge for my alpha, it is better than just living a helpless life.”
“Are you sick? Didn’t you just save your Alpha’s mate, didn’t you help your luna and pack members to survive until you all gained help from us?” I don’t even know why was I doing such a thing in such a situation. Just using an Alpha tone would have been enough but it did not seem to matter to him at that time. Therefore, I was trying to be caring and soft with him, after getting Devika to the doctor, I handle him my way.
Not even Samuel dared to cross my words in so many years, and here he was just… “Alpha, you should leave. Someone is coming again, just go.”
Before I could have tried to stop him, he just vanished in the air making me put effort to control Hunter from taking over. “Let’s go, for now, we will give him a lesson if he comes back alive. It is not our fault that he himself had an interest in putting his hand inside the mouth of death.” Even after knowing how strong Joseph is, he took a silly step which I very well know Devika would have also disliked. With the thought of getting her out of there more important, I sprinted out of the pack as he body started getting cold which I know well enough is an alarm to get her to the clinic.
Devika’s POV“Will she be all right? What about her wolf?” I heard someone’s voice waking me up from deep slumber but took time for me to open up my eyes. As I opened the pair, everything was a blur in front of my eyes while me trying to focus and recognize the ones standing in front of me.“She is going to be fine, and about her wolf…” The person in white was saying but took a pause in between making me think about what were they talking about and it took me a few seconds to realize that they were talking about me. “She might take some time to recover, Alpha. We cannot say anything right now due to the high dosage of wolfsbane in her body.” His words made everything play in front of my eyes, the way wolfsbane was injected into my body. And, hearing what I feared the most to come true, I suddenly felt difficulty breathing. I tried to get up and talk to the doctor as only he can help me right now but getting up made me groan in ache due to the soreness in my whole body. “Just lay down,
Devika’s POV“Rhea, did Marcus come when I was asleep?” I questioned as she was busy packing my stuff. She is from our old pack who always comes around to visit and ask about me since we all came here. No matter who comes or not, she definitely comes for me and even makes sure to share my loneliness when I would not want to have any interaction with anyone. And, when I would cry, she would give me her shoulder, when I would want to share memories about Brent, she would give me her ears.Always being beside me even after having her own family, “No Luna, he did not. Till where I know, he has been leading the warriors and training them. Not only that, till where I know after training the warriors, I saw him with Alpha. Heard, he accompanies Alpha or takes responsibility when neither Alpha nor Beta is available. In short, he has continuously kept himself busy without rest.”First Alpha, and now Marcus. I don’t understand what is going on, what had happened that both are behaving so weirdl
Devika’s POV “Then why I did not find you at the clinic this whole week if nothing is wrong?” I questioned as he continued repeating that nothing is wrong. “Do you really think I am going to believe if you will repeat the same thing again and again? And, this, keeping yourself busy. Use it to fool others not me, even when I used to get cold you would behave like what had happened to me whereas now, I was hospitalized not even once you came.” “Rhea was there to take care of you and here alpha needed me. So…” I don’t know what it is but I am sure that something messy is running in his head which he is not sharing. “Oh, now I get it. How silly of me to be not getting it till now.” I said and chuckled as the thought struck my head. I am sure now I will have my answers. Staring at me with confusion he questioned, “What are you saying?” I chuckled to make my words believable, “Didn’t you get me? No issues, let me explain to you what I am talking about, after all, you are so unaware of i
Adrian’s POV “Samuel, since Devika is all right now, why don’t you get her back at work? She seems to have taken a lot of rest, and should use her energy for something beneficial. Anyways we require an extra hand in training the female warriors and members of the pack.” When I said it, I was actually not that serious with the consideration of her getting discharged from the hospital not long ago. But this woman just is so stubborn when it comes to getting what she wants. “Yes, Samuel, please do as Alpha said. I actually am thinking about why the thought of getting back to training did not strike me.” Samuel sighed hearing her but did not give her any reply instead tried to convince me to not let her join now. “Alpha, I think she should still rest a few more days. Looking at her, I can say how unprepared she is to get back on the training ground.” Hearing him, I actually considered taking my order back but the attitude she gave just made me not do so and stuck to my order. “No need
Devika’s POV“You just got discharged, not even hours late you are stressing yourself to this extent. Don’t you want your wolf to recover or do you want to lose her forever?” The doctor started scolding me as soon as I opened my eyes after a long minute of me being unconscious. “I had already instructed you to take as much rest as possible, what did you not understand?”Bending my head, I just listened to him as I was wrong this time and had no reason to argue. But, what was I supposed to do when the ones I found reliable were just being cold to me all of a sudden? I just wanted to vent out my anger and emotions somewhere and therefore wanted to go out for a run. Already, losing Willow made me lonely and Marcus too has been doing the same.I raised my head feeling a heated gaze on me along with the room’s temperature changing, “So, are you satisfied now? Did you get your answers?” Glaring at me he questioned. Not like when the doctor was scolding me I bent my head, instead, I glared b
Devika’s POV “Your Luna. I hope you all extend the same courtesy to Devika as you do to me.” Adrian announced pushing me forward slightly as soon the rituals of the ceremony ends and the elders announced us the Alpha and Luna. Having the experience before was an advantage to me due to which I was not nervous about taking the position but what I was nervous about the acceptance from the pack. And, that occupied my mind making me startle at the sudden howls and claps from all the pack members which I did not expect even a bit. With that, the nervousness faded off me, “Thank you everyone for accepting and welcoming me with open hearts.” With one of the best, I could offer everyone I said. Though everything went fine as we wished but the guilt inside me of betraying my mate was still existing. “He must be the happiest seeing you,” Adrian whispered taking place beside me and wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I just like how he understands what is going on inside my head of mine, or ho
Devika’s POV “We will see who is the damn wolf.” I got startled at first hearing the voice because of how deep and rough it sounded. But after a few seconds, I realized that the voice came inside my head, not inside my ears which meant that the mind link started working. “Adrian, is that you?” I questioned though the voice no way similar to his. It was just not the normal voice if it was really him. And, in reply, I again heard the same voice making me again halt on my path. “It's hunter, human mate.” It took me a few seconds to register but as soon it did I felt speechless because I did not know what to say further. Interaction with him was one of the most awkward situations for me because nothing about us choosing each other as mates excited me. I still remember my first encounter with Adolph, I was just not able to sustain my excitement following which I tried to at least show some interest but failed miserably. “Hello Hunter, it's great to meet you,” I said at least trying to
Devika’s POVI was not even aware of the surrounding I would wake up to after slipping into sleep while waiting for my new mate. He took long enough then I expected in his meeting which led me to slowly get bored and lay down on the couch. “Where are we going?” rubbing my eyes, I questioned while looking around to figure out myself. It is just a bit weird when you one moment was in your room and the other second you oopen your eyes to find sitting in car while going somewhere. “You will see, but I thought your first question would be, ‘how come I am in the car?’” To be senseful enough he was right but I would be a fool to ask him such question.“Of course, I don’t walk in sleep that I will come inside the car by myself.” I said while taking a deep breath and getting comfortable on my seat. Napping in a car is something considerable for me but waking up in a car while still having a distance to cover is what I not at all consider. It just makes me want to go back to sleep instead of st
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, a sense of tranquility settled upon the Silver Moon Pack. The imposter's defeat had served as a powerful reminder of our collective strength and unwavering determination. Our pack members continued to train diligently, their abilities evolving and expanding with each passing day. Amidst the peace, Adrian and I found solace in each other's arms. We would steal moments of respite amidst the bustling pack, venturing into the depths of the forest where the magic stone remained hidden. There, in the sacred silence, we would reconnect, our souls entwined in a dance of love and understanding. It was during one of these stolen moments that a subtle ripple in the air caught my attention. An instinctive shiver ran down my spine, and I looked into Adrian's eyes, knowing that he had felt it too. Something was amiss. With a shared determination, we followed our intuition, retracing our steps back towards the pack's territory. The once fami
Excitement crackled in the air as the pack absorbed the implications of this revelation. The opportunity to harness the stone's power and unlock their own dormant abilities ignited a fire within them. They stood taller, their gazes alight with newfound determination. In the following days, we guided pack members through the rituals and practices required to connect with the magic stone. One by one, they tapped into its dormant power, their latent talents blossoming like the first buds of spring. From warriors to healers, from trackers to seers, each individual discovered their unique strengths and honed their skills with the aid of the magic stone. As the pack flourished under the stone's influence, our bond grew stronger than ever before. We reveled in the shared growth, the collective knowledge that we were a pack of warriors, bound not only by blood but also by the indomitable spirit that resided within us. The imposter may have been lurking in the shadows, waiting for an opportu
In the moonlit hours, when the world was hushed and the stars painted the night sky, Adrian and I would often steal moments alone. We would venture into the heart of the forest, finding solace in its embrace. In those quiet moments, we would reflect on our journey and reinforce our resolve.Underneath the canopy of trees, bathed in the gentle glow of moonlight, we reaffirmed our commitment to each other and to the pack. Our connection deepened, entwining our spirits in an unbreakable bond. Together, we were a force of nature, guided by love, loyalty, and an unyielding determination to protect all that we held dear.As time passed, whispers of the imposter grew faint, carried away by the winds of uncertainty. It seemed as though our protective measures had proven effective, the magic stone concealed from prying eyes. But we knew better than to grow complacent. The imposter's desire for power and the potential havoc they could unleash upon our pack remained a constant threat.Word sprea

The weight of responsibility remained, but the knowledge that we had taken a crucial step to safeguard the magic stone brought a measure of peace to my soul.Adrian's presence beside me was a constant source of reassurance. His strong, steady strides matched my own, our footsteps falling in sync as we navigated the winding paths of the forest. I couldn't help but marvel at the seamless unity we shared, the unspoken understanding that flowed between us. We were a formidable team, complementing each other's strengths and filling in the gaps with unwavering support. As we emerged from the forest's embrace, the familiar scent of the pack's territory enveloped us. Devika's POV The dense forest stretched out before us, its mysterious depths calling to me like a siren's song. The air was heavy with anticipation, a palpable energy that sent shivers down my spine. Beside me stood Adrian, my mate and the Alpha of our pack. With every step we took, I could feel his strength and determination radiating from him, reminding me of the responsibility we carried as the guardians of the magic stone. I focused my senses, attuning myself to the surroundings. The forest seemed alive, whispering ancient secrets that only a chosen few could hear. The rustle of leaves underfoot and the soft hush of wind through the trees created a symphony of nature, guiding us deeper into the heart of the enchanted woods. As we ventured further, the air grew thicker, infused with the unmistakable essence of magic. I could feel its tingling presence, a delicate dance upon my skin, as if the forest itself acknowledged our purpose. The familiarity of the surroundings washed over
Days turned into weeks, and the packhouse buzzed with renewed energy and camaraderie. Adrian and Devika had emerged from the ordeal stronger than ever, their bond deepened by the shared experience. They reveled in the simple joys of everyday life, cherishing each moment they spent together. The pack members, too, celebrated their reunion, organizing a gathering to honor the resilience and love that had brought them back together. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and music, as the packhouse resonated with the sound of joyous celebration. It was a reminder of the unity that bound them, a reminder that no matter the challenges they faced, they were always there for one another. Amidst the revelry, Devika and Adrian found a moment of quiet reflection. They escaped to a secluded spot near the river, the gentle sound of flowing water providing a soothing backdrop to their conversation. Devika leaned against a tree, her gaze fixed on the shimmering surface of the river. "Adrian, I c
The packhouse was filled with an uneasy silence as Adrian searched frantically for Devika. The realization that she was nowhere to be found had sent a wave of panic crashing through him. He had scoured every corner of their shared living space, calling out her name, but there was no response. It was as if Devika had simply vanished into thin air. Adrian's mind raced with worry as he retraced his steps, trying to remember the last time he had seen her. They had spent the morning together, sharing breakfast and laughing over silly jokes. Devika had mentioned something about going for a walk in the woods, wanting to clear her head. It was unlike her to disappear without a word, and Adrian's concern grew with every passing minute. He rushed outside, his keen eyes scanning the forest's edge, hoping to catch a glimpse of Devika's familiar figure. The tall trees stood still, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. Adrian's heart sank as he realized he had no clue where to start looking
Devika could feel the weight of the impending clash, the gravity of the situation pressing upon her shoulders. She knew that her actions in the moments to come would shape the fate of her pack and determine the course of their future. With a flicker of movement, the woman in the black cloak broke the silence. She stepped forward, her cloak billowing around her like a dark shroud. Her voice carried an air of authority, tinged with a hint of amusement."You are a brave one, Devika," the woman said, her tone dripping with condescension. "But you underestimate the forces that are at play. You cannot comprehend the depth of the darkness that surrounds you."Devika squared her shoulders, her gaze unwavering. "I may not understand everything, but I know enough to recognize a threat when I see one," she retorted, her voice laced with determination. "And I will not let you harm my pack."The woman chuckled softly, a chilling sound that sent shivers down Devika's spine. "Oh, my dear, you have n
Devica, the Luna of the pack, prowled silently through the dense underbrush of the forest. Her heightened senses were on high alert, the scent of her imposter lingering in the air. She had caught wind of the doppelgänger's deceitful intentions and was determined to uncover the truth. Moonlight filtered through the canopy above, casting ethereal beams of silver onto the forest floor. Devica's white fur blended seamlessly with the glow, granting her an otherworldly presence. With each step, her paws barely made a sound, her movements becoming an elegant dance with the night. As she neared the outskirts of the pack's territory, Devica caught a glimpse of her imposter, a sleek and cunning replica of herself, slipping through the shadows. She quickened her pace, her heart pounding in her chest. Her instincts urged her forward, determined to expose this impostor and protect her pack. Devica pursued her imposter relentlessly, her eyes never straying from the silhouette in the distance. The
