Chapter Thirty Nine

Anna had resumed work. She had never seen any traces of Mrs. Ann resuming work.

She had been thinking that Mrs. Ann would reconsider and show up but now she knew that no one is showing up to help hee. As the clock ticked closer to the start of the presentation, it became clear to her that Mrs. Ann isn't showing up.

Anna sat at her desk, she was very nervous, and she was flipping the notes in her hands. Her palms were already sweaty with the tension and her mind raced with the worst case scenario she could imagine.

Just then, Mr. Thompson entered her room. “Is Mrs. Ann on her way?”

Anna couldn't reply, she knew he would be angry if he gets to know what's going on. “Thompson, Mr. Thompson. I don't even know, I can't even say exactly what's going on”

“What do you mean by you don't know what's going on, the meeting is like an hour to this time, what do you mean? Anna don't ruin my company!
