Ever since I returned, I've been spending any free time I have, cooking and doing random chores to keep my thoughts away.
As I clean the chicken meat with the biggest kitchen knife, I hear his voice from behind me.
"Why have you been avoiding me?"
I hack away as I answer without turning around, "I haven't."
"So why have we not spoken properly in a week?"
"It doesn't bother me." I shrug as I continue slicing.
"Tin Gold!" He shouts into my ear and I jump, the huge knife still in my hand. His ocean eyes stare in horror at the knife. When did he come and stand next to me?
"What?" I ask in boredom.
"C-can you put that away first?" He hasn't taken his eyes off the knife.
I grin and put it aside. "Sorry Pan."

I groan as the doorbell rings and Panda King shouts at me to check who it is. Does he not have any mercy for an injured person?Stumbling off the sofa, I limp towards the front door. Keeping Ciarra Lake away proves to be more difficult than I had thought it would be when I confidently made the promise to Panda King. I overhear Mrs King and Ciarra speaking in quiet voices in the kitchen. They must be planning something. Ciarra hasn't spoken to me at all. It has already been two days since they came and I have done my best to be a fishbone stuck in her throat. Pan has been making sure that I am always within an arms length of wherever he is. I have answered for him when she asks questions, blocked off her advances towards him and basically been the third wheel. Mrs King seems to support her to the fullest. So much so that it has not stopped Ciarra from trying to seduce Pan when she thinks I am not in sight. Pan was so frightened that he has been camping inside my room at night in case she comes for him in the dark. Is this the true Ciarra Lake?

It's been a long journey and I honestly never thought I would get more than five readers when I first began writing His Bodyguard. I wasn't sure how or if I would be able to complete it but knowing that there are people out here who are giving me a chance and giving my story a chance, it really motivated me.
