When I had initially taken off, I had not even been surprised by the fact that I had left Matthew in the dust. I felt like it was almost intentional that I had done so, that I had deliberately ensured that I did not give him the opportunity to catch up to me. I did not know much about what our kind did when they did these kind of things, but I did know that there was usually a thrill in the chase. Even though I knew that it was only a matter of time before Matthew would catch up with me, but I did not feel a single thrill in regards to this.
