Marissa’s P.O.V

It’s been 7 days now in this hell of a place. It was a maze that had no way out.

I have fought so many creatures, most of which I believed only existed in books and fairytales.

A giant gorilla, a goblin, a werewolf, and even a fairy.

The wind, the sky, the trees, and pain had become the new normal for me. It was so crazy that I could not remember the last time I rested for an hour.

The exhaustion was creeping up on me fast but was not as fast as the creatures that all seemed to find me like I was a magnet that attracted them to me.

I was hurt, tired, angry, annoyed and scared all at the same time.

A part of me hoped to be saved by Dario but I also knew deep down that it would take massive effort, and was almost impossible to find me in this maze.

I had levitated as high as I could about a day ago to see through the forest, on the best route to take in order to escape this hell but all I saw were trees and trees for miles and miles away.

The sight brought tears

This time he did not bother to reduce its impact for the children. By the time he got to his office, a shivering Amelia was already there. She sped there as fast as she could after hearing just how angry he was. The force of his summoning had everyone scared and trembling, including James. He knew that Dario was ready to bring the place to the ground with that anger he felt and so he too ran to Dario’s office. “How dare you?!”. • His Bane   Marissa?

It was impossible for Dario to go back to default setting, leading the pack as the strong Aloha he always was. Now, he was present but absent at the same time. He was where his people needed him to be, but was not himself no matter how hard he tried. “The 3 major zones have 50 guards each searching for Luna. Also-“. The leader of the council paused, seeing that Dario was not listening to anything they were talking about. It hurt the elder because he was also one of the reasons Marissa left. He made his leader this way and regretted it so much. “Let us postpone this meeting till next time”. The Elder spoke slowly with a sigh still looking at the absent minded Alpha Dario had come to be. Everyone nodded and walked out without a single complaint of question. It was obvious to everyone that it was the loss of his Nate that had affected him so.Even a fool could see that. Still staring out the window, a heavy sigh fell out of his lips replacing the tears that threatened to fall. Co

  • His Bane   Beautiful Monster

Today was the first time I truly felt fear. I thought I had been through it but those were watered down fears. Goosebumps rose on my skin as I ran at the highest speed I could, pummeling through the forest like the fastest car alive but he was right behind me. My heart thundered like it had never done before. My teeth also clatter together as I ran. The adrenaline from the fear made me run so fast everything was a blur. That was until my breath was knocked out of me by this creature. He had appeared in front of me despite my crazy speed. “No no no!”. I cried as I scrambled backwards in the dirt that was now coating the blood that covered the skin of my legs from his attack. I’ve always been one to show bravery in danger. I have never cried even when I was tortured but here I was quivering like a new brok feeble child. The creature in front of me, taking his time to walk to me was far from a creature from its looks. It was a man, the most beautiful man one could ever see in

  • His Bane   The cursed forest

“I will find her, and there is nothing you can do to stop me!”. Dario yelled with finality in his voice. Her desperate scream kept resounding in his head every second. He could not breathe or even think about anything else. All he thought about was:“Save Marissa”“She’s in danger”“Alpha please!”. James pleaded desperately. Perhaps the most desperately Dario had ever seen him be. He knew that it was not a good time to leave the pack indefinitely. He knew that danger lay just a few feet from their borders. He knew that he was the only reason the pack of roughed had not attacked but he also knew that he had a chance of loosing his mate forever. He knew that she was in great danger and also knew that she indeed called out to him so desperately, praying for him to save her from whatever it was.“James. I have sacrificed everything for this pack. My life, my parents and even my newfound joy. All these and more I did to protect both their lives and feelings neglecting mine. If I don’t

  • His Bane   The Black Witches

These past few days were nothing short of torture for Dario. The constant ache in his heart at the helplessness he felt in his soul ate him up slowly, anf he had began to give up. “Maybe happiness truly was not meant for me”“Is this how I will give up on my mate?”Is this how powerless I truly am”All these thoughts passed through his mind every single second he spent looking for his mate. Now he truly understood what his father always said to him “even us can be helpless son. We’re just strong creatures not gods”. During the war, there were several times when he felt like his father was just intentionally holding back from doing some things and taking some actions that could have saved them immediately. “His hands were tied too. Just like mine are right now”. He thought yo himself as he shook his head, fighting the urge to punch the tree in front of him but he knew very well that it would not solve anything. He had searched the highs and lows of the forest. From the mountains, t

  • His Bane   The witch’s Lair

The hairs on his back stood up as goosebumps danced all over his skin. Every single atom of his senses on high alert, as he heard the disgusting words that he seemed to remember too fast for how long it had been since he heard them. “Hello Mr. Alpha”. The guardian witch said again as he approached closer with a smirk that Dario wanted to punch off her face. His hatred for her ran deep and he was not a man that easily had hatred for anyone. However, this witch in particular deceived him into entering that cave several years ago knowing fully well that he would die there as they were not expecting him to come out alive, and if there was anything he hated the most in this world, it was betrayal. “It is not anything you have not killed child. It is just against the rules of our powers and sect to do amy harm”. He remembered her say like it was just yesterday. The lies burned his ears like they were fire that touched him, as his chest rose and fell with the intensity of what he felt in

  • His Bane   The Golden Ornament

It felt like immense pain and fire at the same time. It hurt like nothing he had ever felt before but he did not scream. He did not dare to scream. He believed he deserved it for losing her the first time. For making her suffer just because he could not be grown and show what and how he felt. For his foolish decisions. Instead a smile broke out on his face, at the thought that this great pain had at least made him pay for his mistakes. The little shiny gold ornament shined through the blood in his chest. The sight, a pain and a relief. The immediate physical pain of digging into his hear for it, and the the relief of knowing that he finally can get to his princess. He knew that the healing would be slow and painful, but it was worth it, he thought as the little hole in his heart began to heal. That little oval shaped golden orbament, was the only thing he had left of his parents besides the pack. His own value for that jewel was not the power it held, nor the significance of

Dario groaned and moaned so much, you should think they were doing a whole lot more. “I want more”. He groaned deeply as his tone dropped with need. As if she had not been tested enough, she was immediately grabbed from behind by very strong arms that she could not seem to get out of. It was like being held by iron that was rooted deeply into the earth. She struggled, screamed, cried and fought back but it was all to no avail, as it felt like she was fighting a wall. Not budging, not feeling any pain, not relenting. Whatever the man was, dragged her into a building that she thought was familiar but too much in a panicked to remember. • His Bane   His Jealousy

Dario paced back and forth in the dimly lit confines of his office, somehow feeling the weight of the world pressing heavily on his shoulders. The scent of pine, earth, and a hint of sandalwood lingered in the air, remnants of the scent of the man Marissa rescued from the forest hung in the air, and he hated that it smelled good, knowing very well that Marissa was one that loved beautiful scents. Marissa finding this man in the woods had further solidified his hate for her training out of camp. She had found this stranger in the woods, a man who had been injured and vulnerable, and had brought him back to their territory. He hated it so much but could not bring himself to tell her because he didn’t want to seem like the monster she always ran away from. • His Bane   The Injured man

Today was different and she had felt that even before she left home. Something in the air just felt different and she could not put her finger on it, nor deduce whether it was a good change or bad, and so she went to the woods to train as she usually did. It was so serene to her to train amongst nature. She didn’t know what it was but also knew that it was due to her affinity with nature but she felt so at peace when she was here. There was a little stream, surrounded by trees and the sunset view from where she atoood was amazing. As she admired the scene for the upteenth time, she snorted as she remembered that Dario was never a fan of her coming out to train in the woods but also proposed right here. Taking a look at her ring, had her showing her whole 32 teeth. Sometimes, she could not believe that this was her life. Yes, she had gone through a lot to get here but she loved the result so much that she actually may agree to go through that torture if it meant finding, loving

  • His Bane   Clingy Marissa

Marissa woke up early and unlike her usual routine of immediately going to train, she sat on the edge of their shared bed, her heart still racing from the vivid dream that had plagued her nights. The image of her mate, falling to the ground, shot and bleeding, haunted her thoughts. It had been days since the dream, but the fear clung to her like a shadow, refusing to release its grip. She had told him about it, had recounted every detail with trembling lips, and although Dario had reassured her, the anxiety lingered in her chest. She knew very well that he was incredibly strong and fearless, but Marissa couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She needed to be close to him, to feel the warmth of his body next to hers, to remind herself that he was alive and well. So, she found herself following him around the house, her fingers brushing against his arm or resting on his shoulder whenever she could. Each touch was a silent plea for reassurance, a way to ground herself i

  • His Bane   Marissa’s Terror

“No!”. She dreamed on top of her lungs, as she tossed and turned on the bed, wetting it with tears, not realizing that it was not real. The first scream had Dario running to her room with a speed he would only attribute to a vampire but that scream he thought was definitely a call for help. It tore through him, and he could feel her helplessness and it scared him. However, on getting to their room, he saw her sleeping but trashing around and covered in tears. The sight was more than disheartening and so he rushed to her with the aim of waking her up because whatever she was dreaming of, that made gwr so heartbroken, she needed to wake up from it. Shaking her didn’t work abd so ge called out to her, desperately.
