Alpha Dario stood at the edge of the forest, taking in everything and acting as a watchman from where he stood as he did not have to be down to notice, see or smell if anything was wrong.

He also needed to focus on the other task he had at hand which was finding out the actual role that her mother played in her being sold, but all he could focus on was Marissa. She was inside the pack house, laughing with the other members, her voice like music to his ears. The warmth of her laughter wrapped around him, pulling him closer, but he hesitated.
