Marissa discovered that once again in this forest, she was walking and running in circles.

“This forest hates me”. She grunted out as she pulled the trees away from her face. Severally, she had levitated today the tip of the trees to see the oath clearly but could only see the path back home clearly. Every other thing was a blur.

About to take another step or try to sense his again, she felt faint all of a sudden.

“What’s going on?”. She asks herself as he had been doing since coming into terms that she was an Oscura and living and dealing with it, instead of running away from it.

“The orb”. It responded back and suddenly, her priorities shifted.

That orb was one that only her could dissolve because almost anything she made could only be dissolved by her and was one of the reasons why she was so powerful.

She immediately remembered that child that saw her before she left and remembered that he was not the only child in the pack, and if the orb is breaking, it means that there is

However, it was like the more she killed, the lore they came and it was more than frustrating. “Is this how war is?”. She asks herself as she saw people matching on their fellow soldiers just to attack her. It was a sight a part of her did not want to see and another part loved. She continued killing them though as there was no other way to get them to go, and had already given them a chance to surrender, they didn’t get another one. She could feel a little fatigue already as she had been summoning powers for almost 24 hours now, ordering the pack to standby and not exert themselves yet. Her plan was to use her powers to

  • His Bane   Acceptance

They ran like mad men knowing fully well that this attack would probably wipe them all out. Happy with the distance they’ve run, she gathered up all the strength she had left and released them with so much force that she fell far with the push it had. As she fell, her powers also hit the floor and the vibration was nothing short of an earthquake. Everything shook for quite some minutes that she started to get scared that maybe she had just made an earthquake that would end up destroying the pack instead of building it. Suddenly, she heard some claps and followed the sound to see that it was done pack members who had probably been watching what was going on. One of them sped towards her and carried her inside, knowing that she had fell from exhaustion as it was written all over her face and countenance. “Thank you”. She said quietly to the man that carried her inside because she knew that she may have been there for a while as all her muscles had gone stiff and she was also so ti

“I have been fighting for this pack all my life but she did the same thing once and now has to rule us? This is ridiculous!”. Amelia yelled out in anger but the anger that brewed up in James was one that could dissolve the whole pack. They had just sent the remaining few tens of men that survived Marissa and the warriors, surrendering and retreating. He was so mad at the fact that it even seemed that Amelia did not like Dario but loved his power and his seat. Here they were all worried about their alpha coming back safely and hatching a plan to actually go out in search of him, she was here spewing trash. “Now, y-“. He started but was cut off by Marissa who threw Amelia several feet across the room. She was fuming and apparently had enough of her whines. “You and I are not the same, nor are we on the same level when it comes to Dario, powers or anything. He’s alpha to you but mate to me. Learn the difference”. Marissa spoke in a calm but dangerous manner, it sent chills down Jam

  • His Bane   Longing

Dario had always been a creature of the night, a werewolf who roamed the forests and fields under the silver glow of the moon, and so had no fear when walking in the night but there was something about this particular night that he could not quite put his finger on, but as he left the meeting, a sense of dread washed over him.The meeting had ended with him using the potion on them and watching them dissolve nothing short of disgusting. He felt no remorse anf instead felt proud that at least he had discovered their plans beforehand or else he would have been dead within the first hours as he knew very well that they brought only highly skilled warriors, and combined with the three leaders of those clans, he did not stand a chance. As he made his way back through the dense forest, the familiar paths twisted and turned in ways he had never experienced. The trees loomed overhead, their branches clawing at the sky like skeletal fingers. It was a road he had traveled countless times, but

  • His Bane   Two Feared Mates

As Dario emerged from the shadows of the dark forest, his heart raced with a mix of relief and anticipation. The oppressive darkness that had surrounded him for what felt like an eternity was finally behind him. Each step he took towards the clearing felt heavier, laden with the weight of what he had endured and the hope of reuniting with his mate, Marissa. As he reached the edge of the forest, the sunlight poured over him, warm and welcoming. He paused for a moment, closing his eyes and breathing in the fresh air, the scents of pine and earth grounding him. But it was the scent of Lila that filled his senses, stronger than ever. It was sweet and intoxicating, a reminder of everything he had fought for. He opened his eyes, and quickened his pace. It was already daybreak and the sun had started to shine, somehow bringing him hope that everything was going to be fine. “Marissa”. Was all he could mutter out as his whole being screamed and called for her. He stepped into the clearing, h

  • His Bane   Love and Desire

With every second that she was not with him, he could feel her absence like a gaping hole in his chest, and the thought of her being away from him was unbearable. He knew he was being unnecessarily clingy but still could not help it and honestly, didn’t want to. Marissa, sensing his distress, refused to leave his side. She spent every moment she could in the infirmary, tending to his wounds and providing comfort while also attending to pack matters with James and Claire mostly. Her touch was soothing, and Dario found solace in her presence. But even with her there, he struggled to keep his hands off her. The moment she entered the room, he wanted to pull her close, to feel her warmth against him, to breathe in her scent. “Dario, you need to rest,” she would say gently, her voice laced with concern, but he could see the way her cheeks flushed when he looked at her, the way her breath quickened when he reached for her. It was a dance of longing, and he was losing control. He lost it

  • His Bane   The Mark

Finally handing over all the responsibilities and stress of the pack, Marissa felt relief like she had never felt before. Somehow, she knew that she would miss some parts of it. Parts lucked with James actually. The man was a comic book in real life. As she told him to keep an eyes of Amelia, he literally turned that to fifty percent of his job and wat he’d her like a hawk. When she ate, he would utter words like: “Of course, that’s exactly how traitors eat”. She had so much fun and the work became very easy because of him. She was thankful for his jovial spirit and maximum efficiency. Dario immediately had her pinned into the wall in his office and she looked around as if to make sure no one sees them. “I think it will be better if they see us though. They will be witnesses that we indeed belong to each other don’t you think?”. He smirked as she lightly slapped his arm. She knew that it was inevitable for them but to make love today as she had been pushing it with the excuse

  • His Bane   Proof of Amelia’s Betrayal

James took his job of watching Amelia very seriously because he too had suspected her after sharing a little piece of information with her and they were attacked earlier than they were supposed to be. As soon as he heard her grab her keys to the car, he followed, also noting that she had been going out now more than she usually did and it was always shopping but they usually did that and the mall and she was heading to a different place “Did they open a new mall”. He asked himself but deep down, he had already considered ger guilty and only needed actual evidence and confirmation. The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows across the streets as James took his position near the edge of the marketplace. He blended into the crowd, a silent observer amidst the laughter and chatter of villagers going about their daily lives. His eyes were trained on Amelia, who was bustling around, her laughter ringing out like music. To the untrained eye, she seemed to be the epitome of joy and

He knew that Dario was scary and had been given full description in what his wolf looks like, but seeing a giant black wolf in person with golden eyes was different. Dario’s eyes narrowed, his expression angry and unyielding. “You think your money can save you? You’ve destroyed lives for your greed. There is no redemption for you. With a swift motion, Dario almost sank his claws into the billionaire but was blocked by Vraise once again: An action that he did not take lightly, he didn't speak a word extra and just attacked brutally. • His Bane   Her Pain

Her screams shook the whole pack to its core. Every single soul in the pack could not pretend to have not heard a scream that loud. It sounded like one of pain and also a call for help. It’s been wreks now that Marissa had felt the pull of something sinister, a dark urge that whispered in her ear, urging her to embrace the violence that simmered just beneath the surface. It was an insatiable hunger, a desire that clawed at her insides, demanding release.Dario immediately dropped and forgot everything. The only urge currently present was to get to his mate but on rushing to her, he just could not get past an invincible and it frustrated him to no end. “Let me in princess”. He called out and it did not sound like he was pleading. He demanded. However, it seemed like she was in her worn Luther bubble, unable to feel or hear anyone including her mate. Writhing in pain and fear, Marissa screamed again when another wave of pain hit her like a tornado. “Please”“Please”. She chanted l

  • His Bane   Dario and Vraise

Just as he was about to send the billionaire to his ancestors, a hand that definitely belonged to Vraise, stopped him halfway. He growled out in anger as he was so close. Previously, he could not help but wonder why exactly the vampire was protecting the billionaire, because Vraise was not one to be involved in matters. Any matters at all, even that of his clan not to talk of the personal matters of a human but in this moment, he did not care. If he did not kill the billionaire today, he would not be able to live with himself. “A common human tormenting my pack because he has some money that I am above”“Move or I will not consider the fact that we have been somewhat friends over the years”. Dario warned as he still felt some sort of friendship between them and chose to give him one last chance. However, what he got in response was an attack from vraise. A sharp clawing and pushing that had him falling several feet away. “That will be the last time you touch me”. He growled as

  • His Bane   His Anger

“Go! Go! Go!”. Dario yelled at the people as they lived into the safe house they had built in the little time that they had been planning. The little underground room was not even finished but could at least hold all of them if they squeezed in, which was not a choice they had. As soon as he saw that the people had almost gone in, he left the rest to Claire who had been directing them. It was in times like this that he was so grateful that he had his sister and the little support group he had. His mind all the while had been on his mate whom was currently unstable but still using whatever strength she had left to hold the bombs and the billionaire off. It angered him to no extent and this time, he let his anger roam freely. He had enough. In his opinion, his mate had been bullied enough and right in front of him again, drove him insane. The idiot had the audacity to come attack his pack and try to steal his mate and thinks he would be able to get away with it. “Today, I’ll let

  • His Bane   Another bomb attack.

The little whispers from the office almost sounded like the whispers of the wind and Claire could not help but be a little spooked as the room was filled with a mix of werewolves, vampires, and witches, each bringing their unique strengths to the table. Dario leaned over the large oak desk, tracing the lines of a map with his finger. “We need to fortify our borders and increase patrols, so that they can keep watch while we fight. The billionaire is not to be underestimated”. He said, his voice steady but urgent. “If they’re planning an attack, we can’t let them catch us off guard.” The King of bears added. Just as they began to outline their strategy, a loud explosion shook the building, rattling the windows and sending papers flying into the air. The sound was deafening, and for a moment, everyone froze, eyes wide with shock. Dario's heart raced as he instinctively rea he’d through his mind to see if Marissa was fine. “What the hell was that?” one of the vampires, Elias, exclaime

“Oh God Marissa!”. Claire exclaimed as she saw that there was indeed blood on the window. A lot of it. James on the other hand looked like he was about to pass out and began questioning why he actually accepted to look after her. The fear he had for her had not subsided and now, seeing this made it double. “You killed a bird?” Dario asks, already knowing that it was indeed a bird from the smell it emitted, and she nodded yes. I’m this moment she looked so guilty that he felt so bad for her. She hated those birds that chirped around her window at first but had come to actually look forward to them chirping her awake each morning. “I- I tried not to”. She stammers as she tried the explain her reason for killing it, looking confused and disoriented. “But I craved the blood, I just wanted to feel it’s hot blood run through my fingers.” She said and in that moment, her eyes began to turn red again with a sinister smile playing on her lips. He immediately started to struggle to bre

“It’s high time we decided on a date for the attack. I also have a feeling that you all are hiding something from me and postponing the attack due to that. Now, it’s either you tell me what it is, or I find out myself and ut will not be funny if I do so myself”. He warned as he turned to step out of the room. “Alpha Dario, please wait”. The king of the bears started which stopped Dario in his tracks. “Lycan alpha. We apologize but since we sent scouts to locate his whereabouts since he was not at his mansion, they have not come back.” The leader of the witch clan stated with a winced expression on her face. She expected him to flip out and trash things or even attack them in anger but he did none of that. He already knew to not have expectations when working with them because they all had a way to piss him off beyond bounds. “This is exactly why I work solo.” He said the them as he walked out. He was annoyed, no doubt. Very angry, if he was being honest because they were the re

  • His Bane   Oscura Surfacing

Waking up from her slumber, it was first confusion as she had somehow lost memories of the last events before her unconsciousness, the next thing was that it felt like a dream to move her limbs again after being cramped up in such a tiny cell. It made her realize that she really had been spoilt because she lived in a tiny cell for several years abd now she finds it terribly uncomfortable to be in one for a few days. She chuckled to herself and immediately, the doors open, revealing Dario who had sensed her awakening and immediately rushed over. It was as if all her memories came in through the door with him and she immediately panicked remembering just how fatigued she was while trying to block the bombs, and didn’t stop even when it felt like her very essence was leaving her. Deep down, she already knew that something was wrong but was still trying to deny it. Shaking her head like someone was telling a her an unbelievable lie. “What is it princess?”.
