“Mommy… Why are you crying?” he asked in a panic.

Lianna rolled her eyes in annoyance.

'What a gullible kid…'

She then embraced her son in a hurry to hide her sour expression.

“Rui, won't listen to me… I begged her but she won't listen… My Luke, what should mommy do?” she sobbed.

The little boy felt his eyes water as he watched his mother cry in despair. He couldn't grasp what was happening with his mother. He only understood that someone hurt his mother.

“Mom–mommy, what should Luke do?” he stuttered.

She wiped her tears and forced a smile. “Mommy just wants to talk to Eon… Can you invite him?”

“What should Luke tell him, mommy?”

“Tell him that his mommy's best friend wants to talk to meet him.”

“Yes, mommy!” he exclaimed as he ran towards the elementary department's hall where Eon's chess competition was happening.
