Chapter 1: A Prude Woman

Rui Yoon was out to visit her boyfriend, Shane Smith who was busy with managing his company. 

She was worried that he was not eating properly because he tends to neglect everything for the sake of accomplishing his tasks. 

When Rui reached Shane's apartment, she opened the door with her fingerprint. Because she was the girlfriend of a busy man, she was given access to the luxurious apartment. She would always help him clean his apartment and cook for him. 

When she entered the unit, she noticed a pair of lady's shoes that were scattered on the floor. Like it was removed in haste. 

It was a limited edition Jimmy Choo Sandals that she bought with Lianna Johnson, her best friend. Here in East City, they are the only ones who own this pair of shoes. 

'Is Lianna here? How come they did not inform me?'

She heard moans from the bedroom of her boyfriend.

'What the hell is going on?'

She quietly went to take a peek at the slightly opened bedroom door. 

In between the rugged breathing and moans of pleasure, she heard her boyfriend say, 

“Lianna, now that your father took over Yoon corporation, let's ditch Rui.”

“Brother Shane, why? Even without the Yoon corporation, they are still rich because of her Grandpa,” Lianna meekly said. 

Shane sneered and responded, “What wealth? That haunted mansion that was left for her? She's already an orphan. She only has that old mansion in her name.”

Rui clenched her fists when she heard this. 

Her parents' business went bankrupt and it was saved and acquired by his best friend, Lianna's father. They lost all their wealth and only their mansion was left. 

As if the bankruptcy wasn't enough tragedy, just days after they declared bankruptcy, her parents died in a car accident. 

They're right. 

She only has the mansion and money left behind because of their insurance. 

She's just an orphan who is just about to enter graduate school. 

But she still has to keep her pride intact. 

Her best friend and her boyfriend who was supposed to be the people whom she can lean on became the people who stabbed her in the back. 

She opened the door and saw the disgusting naked bodies of the two. 

She clenched her fist tightly and did not notice that blood was seeping from her palms.

“Shane, we're over!” she shouted. 

She heard Shane chuckle. “Suit yourself. You never even let me kiss you, let alone sleep with you. Such a prude.”

Lianna covered herself with a blanket. She was crying silently and hid behind Shane's broad back. “Rui, I'm sorry… I love Brother Shane…”

Devoid of any emotions, Rui coldly declared, “I won't let this humiliation pass. I'll remember this, Lianna, Shane.”

With that, she left the apartment and headed straight to Zeus Club.

Rui sat at the corner of the bar, watching the people on the dancefloor, dancing and making out. 

It was a messy and chaotic club. 

Rui Yoon who's wearing high-waisted trousers and a halter top looked attractive. Coupled with her cool and aloof temperament, she looked out of place. She looks like she's on a different level from the people having fun in this club. 

A tall man wearing an all-black suit and tie approached her. 

She looked at the handsome man who sat beside her and asked with a hoarse voice, “Why?”

“You looked lonely, I thought you'd love some company,” the man cooly responded. 

Rui raised her brows at the man. “Name?”

“Chase. Yours?”

“My name's not important.”

Chase cleared his throat and asked, “Do you have a boyfriend?”

She let out a low laugh with her eyes looking cold, she answered, “I don't. He cheated on me with our best friend.” 

Chase was both shocked and glad to hear that she was betrayed by her boyfriend. He thought it was a good thing that she does not have one so he could make a move on her. 

'Well, even though she has one, I can still pursue her,' he thought. 

He let out a sigh of relief and brazenly asked, “Do you-” but he was cut off by her. 

“Yes,” he heard from the woman who was staring at him with her beautiful black eyes. 

“Wait, what do you mean?” he asked. 

She took his glass of wine and elegantly drank the wine. “Yes, I'll spend the night with you.”

He was shocked; he was not going to ask her for that. He was trying to ask for her name and contact number because he wanted to keep in touch. But with the opportunity to have her is in front of him now. It would be a shame to let it go.

Presidential Suite 

Loud moans of pleasure filled up the poorly lit presidential room. 

The pair who were engaged in a steamy activity can't seem to get enough of each other and spent the entire night covered in sweat.

Rui Yoon woke up in an unfamiliar room. 

It was a massive room, decorated with luxurious pieces of furniture. Even the bed is so soft that she felt like sleeping all day.  

However, she woke up in the arms of a strange man. 

A stranger. 

A man she has no idea what his age, or occupation is.

'Holy sh*t Rui you b*tch!' she cursed herself inwardly. 

She turned her attention to the man next to her. 

His features were peerless. His appearance and perfectly sculpted body were like a Greek God's. Perhaps that's why she got an impulse to follow this man up in his suite. 

She noticed that the man's muscular arm was hugging her thin waist so she gently removed it from her body. 

She tried to sit up so she could get out of the room as soon as possible. 

However, when she did, she felt great pain in her lower body. No, every part of her body is sore. 

“Ugh… Even sitting hurts…” she groaned.

She ruffled her hair as soon as she got off the bed. “So dumb! I thought nothing could get worse than the things-” She stopped voicing out her frustrations when she felt the man move.

She covered her mouth and held her breath as she picked up the clothes scattered on the floor before dashing into the bathroom. 

After fixing herself, she walked out of the bathroom looking beautiful and presentable like nothing suspicious happened last night. 

She tried to conceal the pain that her lower body was feeling and walked elegantly. 

She placed the neatly folded clothes of the man on his side table. Then she scribbled down something on her cat-shaped sticky note before leaving it with ten $100 notes underneath his clothes.

Chase Eno woke up late and saw that the messy room from last night was now squeaky clean. It was quiet and lonely that one will think that the man spent his night alone. 

Aside from the sweet scent that was left lingering on the sheets, he found no other traces of the woman he spent the night with. 

When he decided to live his life recklessly just for one night, he had no intentions of having a one-night stand. But just the moment they shared last night proved his initial conclusion that he will marry her. 

Only her. 

Remembering the events last night made him go mad. He only got to know that she just got into graduate school. That's the only information he got from her. 

He shook off his frustrations and took the neatly folded clothes on his side. 

'Oh. She folded it for me. It's so cute.' he thought as his heart was filled with warmth and happiness just because of this simple gesture. 

Just when he pulled out his pants, 100 dollar bills and a cat-shaped note were scattered on the floor. He picked up the cute sticky note and read it. “Thank you for tonight? See you never?!” 

He felt humiliated with the thought that he was just worth $1000. He cannot stomach the humiliation but when he remembered her dead cold eyes, he felt a tug on his heart. 

He let out a low chuckle as his ruthless eyes stared at the cute sticky note. 

“We'll see about that!”

Rui Yoon has received a scholarship invitation to a prestigious university in England. She got the offer because of her paper on DNA testing and pattern evidence

So even if she's now an orphan with only the money and a mansion left by her parents, she was still able to clinch the opportunity tight in her grasp. 

Before, when she and Shane were getting along well, or when she did not have any knowledge of his affair, she hesitated to leave him for her graduate studies. 

Now that he has exposed his affairs to her, she has no other reason to stay here. 

But she will come back. 

For Lianna and Shane.

And for her parents.
