Chapter 4

When Zeus and Freya arrived at the parking lot of the hospital, she immediately got out of the car.Her daughter was the only thing on her mind at the time, and she needed to see her daughter's condition or she would go insane.

 

Zeus said worriedly, "Freya, I can't go with you inside. There's a problem with the company, and I have to go." She could see in Zeus's face that he wanted to go with her inside.

 

"Okay, I understand. Now go. " After she said those words, she immediately ran into the hospital and searched for the emergency room. And when she saw Beth sitting outside the emergency room, she approached her.

As she approached Beth, her hand trembled. "W-Where's A-Astraea? H-How is she? Beth, answer me! " Beth immediately hugged her when she saw her crying.

 

"Freya, calm down. Astraea is inside the emergency room. and the doctor is still examining her," Beth said while rubbing her back.

 

"How can I calm down, Beth? Look at your shirt; it's full of blood!" She said, as she fainted, to sit up.

 

"Astraea is going to be fine, Freya. I'm sure of that. She's a strong girl. " She was crying and praying for Astraea's safety. If something bad happened to her child, she wouldn't be able to cope.

 

She suddenly stood up from her seat when she saw the doctor come out of the emergency room.

"Doc, how's my daughter? Is she okay? " The doctor immediately looked at her, and she immediately saw the answer in his eyes.

 

"Your daughter is in a critical state right now because of the accident that happened. She has lost a lot of blood and needs a blood transfusion as soon as possible. " The doctor said

 

"All right, doc, do what you need to do." She was sobbing so hard because she didn't know what to do at that time.

 

"But we have one problem, Ms. Ilustre, your child's blood type is AB-, and as of now, our hospital has no stock of that kind of blood type. "Because of what she heard, Fear consumed her.

"But don't worry, Ms. Ilustre; we can run some tests to see if your blood type is compatible with the patient's, so we won't need to find a donor. " The doctor said

 

She was praying that she and Astraea were compatible while the doctor tested her blood, and after four hours, the result came out.

 

"Ms. Ilustre," the doctor said, taking a deep breath as he held the result. 

 

"What is the result, Doc? Are we compatible? Don't we have to look for a donor? " She was nervous as soon as she saw the emotion on the doctor's face.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Illustre, but you and your daughter are not compatible. Your blood type is O+. In order to do blood transfusion, we have to follow the rules of blood typing, so we don't have a choice but to wait for a donor that is compatible with the patient, but I'll be frank with you, Ms. Ilustre, if your child is not transfused immediately, her condition can worsen. "It seemed that her world had stopped spinning about knowing the result. 

 

She was taken aback when she heard the doctor speak again, "Won't you mind, Ms. Ilustre, if I ask you where the father of your child is? That way, we can test his blood type too. If they were compatible " What the doctor said made her realize something: if she had to do it, then she would do it for her daughter. 

"Excuse me, doc, but I need to go." She didn't wait for the doctor's response; she immediately left the room.

 

Beth immediately asked her when she saw her come out of the room. "How's the test?" Are you compatible with Astraea?

 

"No, we are not compatible. My blood type is O+," she said, while confused as to what she should do next.

 

"Don't worry, Freya, we can still find a donor. I can call my brother to help us, "Beth said while taking her cell phone from the bag.

 

"No need, Beth; I know someone who can help us." She had already decided to tell Zeus the truth because this was the only way to save her daughter's life.

"Who?" Beth asked, confused.

 

"Zeus..." She knew that Beth didn't agree with what she said. But she still continued to speak. "I'm sure they have the same blood type," She said and immediately stood up, but Beth suddenly held her hand.

 

"You will go to Zeus and tell him the truth. Are you stupid, Freya? Don't you think that if she finds out the truth, he will take Astraea away from you? " She knew Beth was just worried about her, but she had no choice but to do it.

 

"I don't want to do this Beth, but I have no choice. I don't want to lose my child. I won't let that happen." She said, while sobbing. 

"How can you be so sure, Freya, that they have the same blood type?" What if they don't? " Beth said in extreme frustration.

 

"How can I be so sure? The only thing I'm holding on to, Beth, is that he is the father of my child. I don't want to just wait here? While my daughter's condition is critical, did you hear what the doctor said? Astraea needs a blood transfusion. That's why I'm doing this. " She couldn't think straight now. All she had in mind was that her daughter would be fine.

 

"Fine, if you want to do this, then go. I won't stop you, but I hope you won't regret it. " Beth said, and handed her the car keys. She accepts the key and hugs Beth. 

She immediately got out of the hospital and went to the parking lot. When she was about to get into the car, someone called her, and it was Zeus.

 

"Hey, where are you going? How's Astraea's condition? " Zeus's face showed concern.

 

"Ahm, Zeus, can we talk?" Freya saw Zeus stunned by her sudden change of aura. But Zeus still nodded.

 

Freya and Zeus walked to the garden of the hospital, where no one could hear them. When they arrived at the garden, she immediately spoke.

 

"Zeus..." Because of the nervousness she was feeling, she couldn't continue what she wanted to say.

 

"What is it? What do you want to say? " Zeus asked her with complete confusion in his face.

 

"Zeus, I need your help." A lone tear immediately fell on her cheek.

"Why? Did something bad happen to Astraea?" Zeus asked, worried.

 

"Astraea needs a blood transfusion and  you are the one who could help her," she said as she fought the urge to cry.

 

"What, I don't get it?" Do you need my help to find Astrae's do-"

 

"Astraea is your daughter," she said, whispering, "and she needs your help." She looked at Zeus as her tears were slowly streaming down to her cheeks.

 

"W-What? What she said clearly made Zeus stunned that he couldn't even move a muscle or react at that moment. 

 

"She's my daughter?" Zeus scoffed. "So you lied to me when I asked you multiple times. You are such a selfish freya that you deprive me of my own child? Don't I deserve to be the father of our child, huh? Tell me, don't I deserve it? " Zeus grabbed her by both arms and looked at her with so much fury in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Z-Zeus." Freya sobbed as she said those words.

 

"Sorry? Do you think your apology could ease the pain that I was feeling? Even if you say sorry a million times, the pain that I feel will never go away. " She could feel that her arms were sour because of how Zeus gripped them too much.

 

"You can’t blame me, Zeus. Why did I hide my pregnancy from you because you hurt me, and what's worse, you lied to me? " 

 

"Yes, I hurt you, Freya, but it is not a reason for you to hide my daughter from me. Now that I know the truth, I will take Astraea from you and you will never see her again. " She seemed to have lost her strength when she heard what Zeus said.

"No, please don't do that. I can explain Zeus. You can't take my daughter away from me," she begged.

 

"You can't do anything about it, Freya, whether you like it or not. I'll take Astraea away from you, and I don't need your explanation. Save it for yourself because no matter what you do, you won't be able to get rid of the anger I feel for you, and I don't have time for useless things because my daughter needs me now more than anyone," Zeus said, letting go of her arm. She was left alone in the garden while crying. What is she going to do now? Zeus is determined to take Astraea, and she knows she can do nothing to stop it.
