They all claimed that they had no choice but not to intervene.

Henry had beaten Hans half to death. Anyone pleading for mercy on his behalf would be asking for trouble.

Sarah did not want Lydia to devote herself to Henry, so she said, "Lydia, Henry is your husband, but you have done so much and tried your best.

"Let's leave the rest to his fate."

Sarah also wanted to see if Henry could resolve that without Lydia. If he ended up fine, it would mean that she had guessed it right.

Then, she would have to carefully think about how to change Henry's perception of herself.

She had said far too many unpleasant things in the past, and she was most likely at the top of Henry's bad books.

She felt terrible about it. Why did she have to rush to the front to attack Henry?

"No, the underlying cause of this problem is me. He made a terrible mistake to save me. I can't ignore it," Lydia said. Even though they were separated, she could not be so heartless.

"Why don't we ask Lewis?"

"No need.
