Adriana's Point of View

Through my mate and the pack link, I felt the battle unfold from the safety of the packhouse. Every action, clash and howl took had my heart pounding. My instincts urged me to be out there with Daemon and the others, fighting to protect our pack. But I knew my place was here, ensuring the safety of our pups and supporting our warriors from a distance. In other words, being a Luna.

As I held our twins close, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of fear and pride. Fear for the dangers Daemon and the others faced and pride for their unwavering bravery and determination. I trusted their abilities and knew they would give everything they had to defend our pack.

It felt like hours had passed, but the clock had a different story. I longed for news of Daemon's safety, yearning for his return. Delilah and Amiria continued to monitor the protective spells around the packhouse, their dedication evident in their focused expressions.

Adriana's Point of View Between the shower and our bed, Daemon and I shared moments of intimacy and ecstasy. Our bodies intertwined and synchronized, creating a symphony of passion and desire. First, the water cascaded over us in the shower, heightening our senses and adding a sensual rhythm to our movements. Each touch and caress sent electric waves of pleasure through our beings, igniting a fire that burned with an intensity only we could understand. I moaned softly into Daemon's lips as the passion between us intensified. It wasn't long before I felt myself coming apart. "Daemon!" I moaned again as waves of pleasure surged through my body, overwhelming my senses as I surrendered to the blissful release that awaited. The waves of my orgasm

Daemon's Point of View A Month Later I woke up in a fuzzy state. The darkness slowly dissipated, revealing blurring shapes bathed in dulled light. As I blinked away the remnants of consciousness, my surroundings began to take shape, transforming from vague silhouettes into familiar objects. I recognised I was in the Medical Centre. In the same room, Adriana had given birth to our twins. What the fuck? "Theo!" I called my wolf. "Theo?" There was no answer. I could sense him, so I knew he was still there, but he wasn't answering me. It was like a complete disconnect. "Adriana?" Again, no answer. I was starting to panic now. What the hell had happened? "Tyler?" "Alpha?" he answered. "Thank the Goddess, you are awake. I will be there soon." Tyler arrived in minutes, but I felt like it needed to be sooner. He'd better have some answers as to why I was a patient in the Medical Centre and why I couldn't mind-link Adriana or my wolf. Inside I was panicking. "What the hell happened?"

Daemon’s Point of View A few days later, I had two visitors turn up at the front gates asking for Mitchell. The guards, however, mind-linked me rather than my father. I thought it was strange, and given the last time my father overstepped the boundaries ended in Adriana taking off and getting abducted, I was slightly worried. I was glad I went down to the gate because Alpha Rikard was there, as well as his daughter, Mandy, Mary, or something like that. Who cares... "Alpha Rikard," I called, "How can I help you?" "I just wanted to talk to your father," he answered. "May I remind you that I am Alpha here, not my father, and seeking to enter my pack lands without informing me is a breach of the Council of Alpha rules. So I ask again, how can I help you?" I fumed with the audacity of it. "In that case," Alpha Rikard said sheepishly, "may I proceed to your office to discuss my reason for coming here?" I mind-linked my guard to let them both in, as well as informing Tyler, Adam and Ad

Daemon’s Point of View As I looked around the room, I could see the concern and curiosity in the eyes of my pack members. Adriana was the first to speak up, her voice steady but filled with caution. "As much as I don't trust their motives, I think we should consider helping them, Daemon," she said. "If both of our packs are under attack, it may not have anything to do with Kree. I gather you consider them allies, in which case, we need to protect any alliances and maintain a united front against rogues." Tyler nodded in agreement. "I agree with Adriana. It's in our best interest to assist them. Besides, uncovering any information about the culprits could prevent future attacks on our pack." Adam chimed in, his expression thoughtful. "I understand the hesitation, Alpha, given what happened with your father's interference before. But this could be an opportunity to prove ourselves as capable leaders and build trust with neighbouring packs. We should at least investigate and assess th

Daemon’s Point of View As everyone dispersed to their respective duties, I was alone with Adriana. I approached her, gently taking her hand in mine. "I understand your concerns, my love," I said softly, looking into her eyes. "Rest assured, I won't let anything happen to you or our pups. We will be cautious and vigilant throughout this process." Adriana nodded, a mixture of worry and trust in her gaze. "I know you'll protect us, Daemon. Just promise me that we won't let our guard down." I pulled her into an embrace, holding her close. "I promise, Adriana. You, our pups, and our pack's safety are my top priority, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure it." Adriana and I decided to take some time out of our busy day to enjoy each other's company and strengthen our bond. With the pups in the capable hands of my mother, we went up to our bedrooms to explore each other. As soon as we tumbled into the bedroom, we were kissing and touching each other frantically. Daemon’s Point of View Conversations were kept light tonight. Neither I nor Adriana engaged in conversation with the Alpha and his daughter. They were situated at the other end of the table deliberately, so I didn't have to contend with either of them. I was so untrusting, but I wasn't alone. Unfortunately, his daughter insisted on trying to bring me into the conversation. "What do you think, Alpha Daemon?" she cooed obsequiously me. "What do I think about what?" I queried unsmilingly, as I couldn't really be bothered with this. "What do you think are the reasons for the rogue attacks?" she asked. "That is not dinner time conversation," I replied with annoyance. "No need to be rude, son," Mitchell mind-linked me. I was quick with my reply, "I don't trust them. Something is not quite right, and you taught me to listen to my hunches, remember? You always said hunches were the world's way of telling you something important. Besides, she is flirting with me in front of my mate! No

Daemon’s Point of View Knocking on Delilah's door, we waited for her to invite us in. She greeted us with a warm smile, her eyes filled with wisdom. "Daemon, Adriana, what brings you here?" Looking in, I could see that Perry and the other two witches were indeed there. Adriana and I entered. I wasted no time and explained the strange occurrences during dinner, the disconnection with Theo, and the inability to communicate with Adriana or my wolf through our mind link. Delilah listened attentively, her expression thoughtful. "Hmm, it's indeed unusual. I've encountered situations like this before, although rare. It could be the work of a powerful supernatural force or an enchantment specifically targeting your connection. I can look into it further and see if there's any relevant information in our archives." "I think we should take a blood sample," said Perry. "Wolf's bane will do that as well. We want to rule out poisoning." I nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope, "Please do, Delilah

Daemon’s Point of View In the morning, as the guests gather for breakfast in the dining room, I see that Alpha Rikard and Melinda have joined us. They had a fully stocked kitchen in their cottage, so there wasn't any real need for them to be here, yet here they were. I intentionally excluded my parents from the invitation list. I didn't want either of them getting in the way of the investigation. This reminded me that I wanted to discuss with Perry and Delilah if there was any way to record their private conversations. Despite the prior conversation, Melinda continues to flirt with me in front of Adriana. I could feel Adriana becoming increasingly angry at this. "I wonder what on earth would possess a person to flirt with a mated wolf," expressing her frustration out loud enough for Melinda to hear, "particularly in front of their mate." I could see Melinda bristling at that comment, although it looked like Alpha Rikard had no problem with what Melinda was trying to do. Adriana c

Marc's Point of ViewThe moment we reached the edge of Charleston’s industrial district, our mood changed to serious mode. The dilapidated warehouses loomed ahead, their skeletal frames standing against the faint glow of distant city lights. The air was thick with the acrid scent of saltwater and rust, a sharp contrast to the quiet rage simmering within me.Every fibre of my being was screaming to charge in, to find Lucienne and end this nightmare, but I couldn’t afford to lose control. Not now. Not when we were this close. I glanced at Cole, who sat rigid in the seat next to me, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles were bone white. His wolf, Blaine, was barely restrained, a growl rumbling deep in his chest.“Breathe,” I murmured through the mind-link, my voice steady despite the turmoil churning inside me. It was a simple command, but it carried more weight than either of us could have anticipated. I wasn’t sure if I was reminding him or myself. The tension from us was plain to

Cole's Point of ViewThe growl of the SUV’s engine echoed my mood—low and simmering with restrained fury. A day’s drive to Charleston felt like an eternity. Every kilometre of road we travelled was one less between us and Lucienne, but it didn’t feel fast enough. Every second on the road felt like a century. My Lycan, Blaine, prowled at the edges of my mind, eager to tear into anyone who had dared harm her. The fact that we had to wait to reach her made my blood boil. Marc sat in the back seat next to me, his posture rigid and his eyes locked on the road ahead, his knuckles white as he gripped the armrest. The fire burning in his amber eyes mirrored my own.Queen Adriana sat in the front with King Daemon driving, their presence commanding yet oddly comforting. Daemon had been our anchor through this ordeal, his steady voice reminding us that charging in mindlessly would only hurt Lucienne. Gamma Ellis was quiet beside us, his jaw tight as he stared out the window.Tension crackled in

Marc's Point of ViewThe day and a half since Lucienne’s abduction had been the longest of my life. Every moment stretched like an eternity, the bond Cole and I shared with her still present but muted. Every attempt to reach her through the mind-link was met with silence. It was maddening. Cassius, my Lycan, prowled restlessly within me, his frustration mirroring my own. We were helpless, and it was tearing us apart.King Daemon and Queen Adriana had been our anchors through the chaos. King Daemon, in particular, had taken us aside, his voice heavy with a mixture of pain and understanding. “I know what you’re going through,” he said. “When Adriana was taken years ago, I thought I’d lose my mind. But rushing in blind only makes it worse. You have to trust the process. You have to trust her.”Trust. The word felt hollow when my mate was out there, suffering. But his experience was hard to ignore. Adriana had been sitting beside him, her gaze fierce yet compassionate as she nodded in agr

Lucienne's Point of ViewThe faint echo of footsteps from above stiffened me, and my senses strained for any sign of danger. Every sound in this cell was magnified—every whisper of air, every creak of the floorboards. It had been hours, maybe longer since I had last seen anyone. My body ached, and my wrists were raw from the restraints, but I forced myself to stay alert. When the door creaked open, I expected Beatrice’s manic figure or Rodney’s menacing leer. Instead, Michaela’s familiar form came downstairs, her face carefully blank but her eyes darting nervously. She carried a tray of food, the smell wafting toward me, making my stomach growl despite myself. She hesitated before crouching down to push the tray through the bottom of the bars. She moved to the box on the wall that adjusted the chains. The weight eased slightly, and I could finally lift my arms enough to rub the soreness from them.“You need to eat,” Michaela said softly, pushing the tray toward me. Her tone was quiet,

Lucienne's Point of ViewI sagged against the chains, reeling from the sting of the whip. My wrists were still tightly bound, but the slight loosening of the chains gave me a moment to catch my breath as I gasped, my chest heaving. Beatrice stood in the dimly lit cell, her body tense and poised, the whip in her hand slicing through the air with a sharp crack.Suddenly, the heavy door slammed open, and Rodney stormed in, radiating a palpable fury that seemed to charge the air around him. Without a moment's hesitation, he reached out and seized her wrist, the force of his grip causing her wrist to break, and she staggered slightly. With a swift motion, he wrenched the whip from her hand, sending it flying across the cell to land with a dull thud on the cold stone floor.Beatrice's heart raced as she met his intense gaze, realisation dawning on her that the confrontation was far from over."She's already been whipped today," he snarled. "The plan is not to kill her.""I don't care!" Beat

Lucienne's Point of ViewClio stirred. At first, it was faint—a mere flicker of warmth beneath my skin, like the distant glow of a candle struggling against the darkness. It wasn't the full return of her vibrantly strong presence, but it was enough to send a wave of relief coursing through me. For the first time since I'd been dragged into this grim, lightless cell, I felt a sliver of hope. Her energy was weak and groggy, like waking from a deep, drugged sleep, and I could sense her struggling against the lingering effects of the wolfsbane. She couldn't speak, couldn't send me her thoughts, but I felt her there—a fragile yet unmistakable connection humming faintly within me. It was proof that the activated charcoal Michaela had smuggled to me was starting to work, pushing back against the poison that had muted her.I closed my eyes and concentrated, drawing strength from that tenuous bond. Clio's presence reminded me of who I was, of the power locked away inside me. Even if she couldn

Lucienne's Point of ViewAs the sound of their retreating footsteps faded into silence, the tension holding my body upright gave way. My legs buckled, and I sank to my knees, the chains rattling softly as my arms hung limply above me. Pain radiated across my back, sharp and relentless, each breath pulling at the torn skin where the silver whip had bitten deep. For a moment, I allowed myself to feel it all—the anger, the fear, the helplessness. The weight of the situation bore down on me, pressing the air from my lungs. I clenched my fists, forcing my mind to remain clear. I couldn’t let this break me.“They’ll come for me,” I whispered, my voice cracking against the stillness of the cell. “Marc and Cole will find me.”I repeated the words like a mantra, willing myself to believe them. Marc and Cole were my mates. They wouldn’t rest until they tracked me down. The wolfsbane might dampen the bonds between us, but they were still there, faint and fragile threads that connected us.
