Mia Jayden
Mia wore her black cape and tiptoed to the door, trying to be as quiet as a mouse while pressing her ear to the wooden door to listen for sounds. Her heart jumped to her throat when the thought of what she was about to do filled her head. Adrenaline rushed through her veins as she pulled the door open when she could hear the distant chatter of the maids in their various shifts. She snuck out of her room and plastered against the blue walls of the hallway, which had many paintings of the alphas that reigned before her dad. With a heaving chest, she stealthily made her way into the wing that led to the grand foyer. This wing had ornaments and flower vases around it with paintings of the past Lunas.'Where are you?' Mia's friend mind-linked her and she juddered, holding her breath not to give herself away.'I'm doing the hard part, can you not do that next time?' Mia glanced from left to right and was about to climb down the stairs when she saw a guard approaching. She rushed back, hiding behind the statue of her grandfather. She squeezed her eyes shut, palming her mouth to stay calm. The guard trudged past the statue and halted, slowly curling his fingers around the head of his blade. He glanced around and shrugged before walking away.Mia let out a breath, nursing her chest to stop her erratic heart.'I'm trying to sneak out,' she responded. When she reached the last staircase, she peered at the guards that stood on each side of the large door. She gulped, striding to the door with her head high."Good day, your highness," the guards chorused."Hi, how do you do?" Mia beamed, voice like that of a Nightingale."Very well, we thank you." They offered her a curt bow and she nodded her head, making her way to the door. "Are you going out?"Mia blinked once then twice, stopping in her tracks and wracking her brain for something to say."Excuse me?" She smiled, showing off her canines and pearly whites."The queen ordered us to not-""Oh, I'm not going far." Mia shrugged."But the Queen-"Mia was quick to cut him short"No worries, I already got her permission." She smiled brightly attempting to skip past the guards. They stood their ground and even went as far as joining shoulders, successfully closing the tiny space between them."Your highness." Perz called out after her.Mia cursed under her breath, "Perz the head guard just had to make an appearance."Perz was a highly clever and skilled man and Mia hated him for it. He always managed to obstruct her fun. He had guarded the Diamond Shadow Parks palace since he was but a boy and now he was in his mid 50s and a total pain in the ass."Oh, Perz. How lovely it is of you to make an appearance." Mia managed to maintain her smile. "Now tell your guards to let me through.""I'm afraid I'd have to send Theo up to confirm your claim, mi lady." Perz ignored her order as he, with the wave of his hand, assigned said assignment to Theo his right hand man."Of course, you should but only if you'd want to risk getting reprimanded by the Queen for interrupting her very private time with her husband." Mia stated trying to sound as carefree as possible blowing imaginary dust off her fingersTheo stopped dead in his tracks. His face contorted in confusion as he looked at Perz who was shooting daggers at a smiling Mia.She knew he'd never risk interrupting anything intimate between her parents not by sending a guard, neither by mind linking him. Mia hoped he would buy her lie because her cheeks were killing her from all the smiling. With another wave of his hand, he made Mia's silent wish come true. The guards parted their shoulders, giving room for free passage. Mia skipped past them, smiling brightly."Miss Mia," Perz called and she glanced over her shoulder at him. "Be safe.""Sure will." She assured, throwing open the doors as she made her way to meet Rain who had been waiting for her just outside the palace door."That took longer than it used to."Rain was quick to point out."You're losing your touch."Rain moved quickly towards the woods."No, I'm not." Mia retorted defensively trying to keep up with her pace."Right," Rain said sarcastically."Yeah. Just missed my little chit chats with Perz.""Whatever, Mi." Rain was quick to shut her up before she went on about how fabulous her "chit chats" with Perz usually went.Mia glared playfully at Rain as she walked briskly past the gate. Mia waved the guards stationed there. She never had an issue with them as they never stopped her 'cause once she passed the palace doors, she was good to go.They both made their way behind the first tree they could find to strip out of their clothes."Ready?" Rain smiled mischievously at Mia. Moments like this helped remind Mia why they were best friends. They had similar energies."Was born ready." Mia was bubbling with excitement as they both shifted into their wolf form taking off into the forest.*****"You guys are awfully late,"Steph complained when Mia and Rain got to the others.Mia and Rain had changed back into their clothes just before reaching the others with Mia still adjusting her jean"As usual," Kala said in a bored tone looking really upset, while Cade remained quiet. They were all complete. Their clique of five"Take a chill pill, Kal. We aren't that late,"Rain retorted sharply."You should have been here over an-""Okay, okay that's enough. We're sorry we're late." Mia quickly cut in. They were here to have fun not settle quarrels between Kal and Rain."So who's ready for some fun?!"Mia said cheerily. Smiling brightly and causing the others to follow suit. They all laughed as they made their way deeper into the forest. The day was no longer young and darkness was fast descending on them. There was no way they could hunt in the dark so they had to be quick.Today, they were to hunt down a reindeer which Mia was positive she'd win but to her total dismay, she lost to Steph who hadn't stopped teasing her on how terrible she was at hunting.Rain and Kal had gotten into another fight so they hadn't participated much in the hunt. Cade had tried to stop them from killing each other so he hadn't participated much either. Sincerely, he wouldn't have either way, he was just that dude who preferred to 'just observe' as he'd often defend."The only reason you beat me this time was because I was too distracted with Rain and Kal."Mia defended as they all sat by a fire place where they roasted their prized reindeer."Don't try to pin this on us, Mi." Kal simply stated while they all watched her in amusement."And besides, Steph always kicks your ass."Cade added and Steph smiled in victory."Whatever," Mia said playfully, while they all joked at her expense. After drunk dancing and playing amongst themselves, Cade decided to tell the group a story."It's a story about the very ground we sit on." Cade started, widening his green eyes."I hate the sound of that." Kal complained. Mia couldn't help but agree."Don't be such a baby." Steph scolded."Well, like I said earlier, it's about this very land." Cade continued. "Legends have it that there was once a man possessed with a demon wolf. He was the alpha of his pack and whenever this demon came over him, he would lose control of himself and hurt anyone and everyone he could."Kal drew closer to Mia who was in no way enjoying the story. "One day, he even killed his family when he was possessed by this demon. He lost everything by his own hands. He is said to have come to this same grounds and took his own life when he realized what he had done to his family."Mia's heart skipped a beat and beads of sweat lined up on her forehead. Horror stricken, they stared at Cade in utmost silence."How true is your story?" Mia asked, breaking the story.Cade only shrugged sipping from his drink, seeming unconcerned."That was disturbing."Rain stated and they all agreed, giggling. Deep down, they knew they all loved scary stories.Next Steph graced the occasion with another really disturbing story about a kid gone missing in the woods and was never found."That's enough!" Kal screamed at Steph, causing Mia and the others to guffaw.Stella Jayden(Luna)"Perz! Perz!!!" The luna of Diamond Shadow Park screamed, shaking the walls of the palace. "Your highness." Perz bowed, shaking in fear. He was well accustomed to how temperamental the queen was."Where's Mia?!""Your highness, I-er, we-"Perz struggled for the right words. He had been fooled."Are you retarded or are you just plain stupid?!"The Queen's nostrils flared and her face was now red. "Where . Is. My. Daughter Perz?!""Your Majesty, S-she is not-"Perz stuttered. The Queen terrified him especially when it had to do with the princess"What did I tell you about letting her out of this palace?!" Her canines elongated and red veins marred her forehead.Perz hoped it was a rhetorical question."Did I not instruct you to not let my daughter through those doors, Did I not?!" "You-you d-did your highness-""Did I stutter when I told you those words?" She fumed; chest heaving. The Queen balled her palms into fists, her hands were itching to slap the guard and
Alpha Jayden. Alpha Jayden remained in his study even after the whole mother-and-daughter charade was over.Choosing rather sit and work than retire to his bed chambers to a wife ready to give him an ear full of how nonchalant he was about their daughter's safety. He was about to damn all consequences and retire to his room nonetheless when he stumbled across the unsolved– almost cold case of the three young wolves gone missing. He mind–linked his beta demanding his presence in his study."Alpha." Phil greeted with a curt bow.Alpha Jayden awarded him a stern look before tossing the files of the missing wolves to him."I thought I said to solve this case, Philip." Alpha scolded slumping back in his chair in frustration and tiredness. He had had a long day already and this was going to elongate it even more.Phil glanced down at the files on the desk not even bothering to pick them up. He took his seat opposite the Alpha making himself comfortable."And I told you I was on it,"He sa
Alex Heartman"Help!" Alex's mother screamed. "Momma!" Alex yelled and tears welled up in his eyes. He was scared shitless."Mom?" Alex whispered when he saw a shivering woman coiled up in the corner of a dark room he had been trapped in.He took slow and conscious steps towards her as his six-year-old self held tightly to Mr piggy, his teddy bear. When he got close to her, he realized a tad too late that it wasn't his mother. The woman raised her head and she was frighteningly faceless.Alex's heart skipped a beat and his legs turned to jelly. He let out a strangled scream as he tried to retreat quickly but she clutched his wrist and pulled him toward her. Instead of falling into her embrace, he fell into an endless pit. His throat hurt from all the screaming; his muscles sour from the swinging of his hands as he lost his grip on piggy as fell deeper into the dark hole. Just when he felt there was never going to be an end to this torment, he felt himself drowning as if he had fal
Alpha Jayden"The Alpha would be here soon."Hendrix informed Alpha Jayden and his escorts before exiting with a bow.Alpha Jayden and his men sat in the luxurious waiting room of the Crystal Moon Pack's palace. Alpha Jayden scanned the waiting room, seeming awestruck. He was truly impressed, he thought the old fool(Alpha Heartman) had never been fashionable all through the time he knew him. It was surprising that he suddenly was now.He got to his feet to take a better look at all the paintings and artifacts on the wall. He thumbed his beard and cocked his eyebrows, nodding at the grand decorations, not missing the beautiful chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. The place was indeed glorious. It spoke of royalty and strength which were not characteristics of the Alpha he knew."Alpha Jayden." His thoughts were cut off guard by the powerful voice that called out to him. Jayden knitted his brows into a frown. 'That's weird, I didn't hear him come in.' Alpha Jayden thought to himse
Alex was dismayed and disturbed when he lost the mystery man. He felt outsmarted which was not a feeling he was in any way accustomed to.When he finally gets a hold of him, he'd ask him how he had managed the disappearing stunt. As pissed as Alex was about the whole ordeal, he was also intrigued to know how he had done it.His interest had been spiked and he'd do anything to find out just who and what the hell that person wanted. He wanted him dead, that was for sure, but why?"Sire." Alex was pulled out of his thoughts by Gerald."We're here," Gerald said, pointing upward at the Great Hall Of Counsel. ••••••••••••Alpha JaydenAlpha Jayden was beyond pissed and all his anger was directed at one man. The same man who had invaded his thoughts all through the day before and even plagued his dreams. Alexander Heartsman. How could one man yield so much power? They had all been kept waiting for him for almost thirty minutes and just when Alpha Jayden was about to s
Mia Jayden"Your highness, wakey wakey,"Mia's personal maid, Isabelle said in a sing-song voice. It was always the same routine.Isabelle would wake her up from her slumber every morning and Mia would often take her sweet time before rousing from her sleep.Isabelle always found it interesting and as much as she wanted to be angry at her for giving her such a hard time, she just couldn't. It was impossible to get upset with her no matter how hard anyone tried and Isabelle couldn't comprehend why it was so."Your highness," She called again a tad too close to the princess's ears for comfort.Mia shifted so she was now face down; her head buried under her pillow as she groaned in frustration."I told you to stop calling me that." Mia's voice sounded muffled from under the pillow."And I told you I can't because it's protocol." Isabelle gave the same reply every timeThey'd been through this a billion and one times and Mia was getting tired of having the same bicker with her maid."Is.
Stella JaydenStella stood in her room proudly watching her daughter as she tended to the injured bird. She was undoubtedly proud of how caring and full of love her daughter was. But as proud as she was of her girl, she couldn't help but worry for her safety. She didn't enjoy locking her precious daughter up in the palace but she had to for safety. This was because of the prophecy she had received just after Mia was born on that moonless night. Stella allowed her mind to relive that night, twenty-two years back. She had spent half an hour in the labor room, struggling to push out her precious daughter. The labor was long and painful. She still remembered vividly how dark the night had been as there was no moon in the sky. When she had successfully delivered and the child had been cleaned up, the delivery nurse had pointed her and Jayden's attention to the birthmark on her child's waist. It was a clear half-moon.They were both confused as to what it meant so Alpha Jayden ordered t
"What is it you're saying, Jay?!"Stella fumed.Alpha Jayden didn't know what to say, so he kept mute."Are you kidding me, you want to give our daughter to someone barely known for some alliance?!"Now, she was yelling the roof off and Jayden could swear that his ears would bleed any minute from now."What are you truly saying, Jay?" She breathed heavily.Jayden remained silent as he still didn't know how to answer that."Jayden, are you planning on trading our only child for the sake of your political greed, what about her mate and even his mate?!" Stella asked, face turning red.He could literally see hot smoke like incense ascend from her head at this point."I've asked you a question Jay and when I do, I expect an answer," she said through gritted teeth. "Answer me!""I don't know, okay!" He yelled back, throwing his hands up in exasperation. " I don't want our daughter married to that man either but this is beyond my control.""Beyond your control? You're an Alpha!" She banged h
The sun set over the vast forest as Mia and her loyal pack made their way through the dense forest. The air was thick with anticipation as they neared their destination - the territory of the Silver Moon Pack.Today was a momentous day - the day the two packs would be reunited. As the sole heir to her pack, Mia had taken on the responsibility of bringing both packs together, forging a stronger and more harmonious alliance. It had been a long journey, but Mia knew that this meeting was the beginning of a new chapter in her life and that of her pack.As they approached the borders of the Silver Moon Pack's territory, Mia stood to address her pack.Mia's heart swelled with pride as she surveyed her pack, eager for this new chapter in their lives. The challenges they had faced seemed insignificant now, their differences mere stepping stones towards a common goal. She caught the eye of some leaders, the Diamond Shadow pack's wise and noble elders and advisors; they stood there with everyon
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the tranquil garden, Alex and Mia found themselves seated on a rustic wooden bench, their fingers intertwined. It was a moment of quietude, a sanctuary of their own amidst the chaos of their lives. The fragrant aroma of blooming flowers and the soothing melody of birdsong filled the air, creating a backdrop that seemed tailor-made for a profound conversation.Mia gazed at Alex with a mix of anticipation and vulnerability. She had spent countless nights rehearsing the words she would utter, trying to capture the essence of her emotions. Now, with her heart pounding in her chest, she took a deep breath and mustered the courage to speak her truth, but before she could say anything, Alex took the lead."Mia," he began, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been reflecting on our journey together, on the pact that once bound us and the love that has blossomed between us. I've come to realize that our marriage shouldn't
The next morning, the sun's warm rays filtered through the curtains of Alex's bedroom, gently coaxing him awake. As he slowly emerged from his slumber, he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation tingling in the air. He turned and gave the still-sleeping Mia a peck on the head and a soft kiss on her lips.As he rose from his bed and began his morning routine, Alex couldn't shake off the thought of his mother's message. "She sent for me," he murmured to himself. Alex's mother had sent for him, a simple message delivered by a nurse who had become a familiar face during his past visits when Heartman was there.A mix of curiosity and trepidation brewed within him. Although he had never been close to his mother, the fact that she had reached out to him felt significant. With a mix of apprehension and hope, Alex made his way down the hallway towards his mother's room. As he neared the door, he paused, taking a deep breath to steady himself. He wasn't sure what to expect or how this en
Alex's heart pounded as he carried Mia's unconscious body through the dense forest, making his way back to the Crystal Moon pack. His mind raced with worry and desperation, knowing that her life hung in the balance. Every step he took, every breath he drew, was filled with determination to bring her back safely. Finally, the familiar sight of the pack's territory emerged from the trees. He sprinted towards the Alpha's den, his muscles burning with exertion, but his resolve unyielding. Bursting through the entrance, he was immediately met with concerned and relieved faces. The pack's healer and nurses rushed forward to tend to their Alpha as she took in Mia's motionless form. "What happened?" she asked urgently.Alex's voice cracked with emotion. "The most important thing I want now is for her to be taken to my room; you have to help and treat her there."The pack healer motioned for the others to clear a space, and together they gently laid Mia on a nearby bed. The healer's hands move
Mia, Heartman, and the sorcerer left Natalie behind at the sorcerer's place because she was already injured during the clash.Mia and Heartman ran towards the building where the final sacrifice would be made, and the sorcerer stayed behind to distract Alex while they destroyed the altar and exorcised the demon.Standing before the main room where the altar was set up, Mia and Heartman felt their hearts pounding with a mixture of anticipation and fear. They had finally located the place where the demon intended to fully possess Alex, and they knew they had to act quickly to prevent Alex's servants from catching up with them.Heartman's hands trembled slightly as he clutched the ancient book of exorcism chants, its pages worn and fragile with age. Mia stood close to him, holding the little dagger the sorcerer had given her. With a deep breath, Mia took the lead, stepping cautiously into the room. The low lighting and flickering candles cast eerie shadows on the cold stone walls. The atm
Outside the sorcerer's abode, Mia and Alex's parents chatted as they made their way home."Heartman, I told you the place looks familiar; now you believe me, right? I can't miss it; I know the place so well, and it still hasn't changed a bit all those years," Natalie said."I believe you now, Luna Natalie," Heartman said, laughing. He went ahead and teased her."Why would you want a sorcerer to change his place? It's not a rented apartment or a palace," Heartman said, laughing out loud. Mia couldn't help but join in the laugh."Heartman darling, are you mocking me?" Natalie did a baby face, trying to win Heartman.Heartman looked at her and refused to fall for her trick. Mia just looked at both of them, happy that they weren't crying or blaming themselves for how Alex turned out to be.She misses her mom too much; it hurts really bad. Her mom would have known exactly what to do right in this situation. She missed all the time she ran away from home to play with friends. If she had kno
Alex's parents were determined to assist their son in defeating the powerful demon that plagued their lives and caused so many deaths. They believed that understanding the demon's origins and weaknesses would be the key to success. With a glimmer of hope in their hearts, they embarked on a journey that would take them to the sorcerer's place and grant them access to long-forgotten texts, helping them understand what they needed to do to help Alex.Early in the morning, they left the pack with Mia, who assured them of the sorcerer's place that her mom took her to before she was killed. They ventured deep into the enchanted forest, with Heartman and Natalie feeling a sense of familiarity."Heartman, isn't this the place we came back then when we were looking for answers about Alex?" Natalie asked, looking around."Natalie, I can't say because all forests look the same, though I know this place looks and feels familiar," Heartman replied."Let's just go; when we get there, we'll know if
The dark cloud that had loomed over Alex's soul grew denser, and with each passing day, the demon lurking inside him gained strength. Its malevolent presence seeped into his thoughts, tainting his actions with a sinister allure. Alex had fought against it, but now, it seemed as if the demon's grip on his very essence was tightening, suffocating him.He noticed Alex was starting to know more about things, meaning he already knew about the trick he was playing with his mind. The demon possessed him and started ordering everyone to get the sacrifice ready fast so he could come in his full self.In fear and trembling, all his servants went about looking for all ingredients to complete the sacrifice and awaken him to take full control of Alex's body.**----------------------------------**Mia and Alex's parents were still making plans on how to help Alex and destroy the demon without coming back to seek revenge. As Mia spoke about it, the more she became tired because everything was confus
Heartman walked out of the cell and out of the dungeon. He headed towards the room where Mia and Nathalie were receiving treatment in the pack house."Nathalie, there's something you need to know," Heartman began, and Mia was about to stand up and leave them to talk when Heartman stopped her."You need to hear this, Mia. It's about your husband, Alex. He isn't dead; he has been possessed by a demon," Heartman paused, observing Mia's response before continuing."He's in the forest, going through the sacrifice to awaken the demon within him," Heartman concluded.Nathalie started crying as she heard what Heartman said. "Isn't there a solution to stop it, Heartman? We can't allow the demon to be awake; it'll destroy innocent lives," Nathalie complained."We'll have to look for the person that possesses the Mundara powers, and searching for that now isn't something that can be done in a few minutes," Heartman said sadly."I already know about the demon within Alex, and I'm the one you seek
