Chapter 5

5. NINI MEET MARK  

"I don't understand after all, what's the problem here?" Freya asked Kevin while walking inside their little balcony after finishing their dinner.

Kevin turned around to her and said "Freya have you gone mad, you know I can't do this"

Freya left out a sigh in annoyance and tried to convince him "But why? What's the problem? He's offering that job upon your talent and qualifications then why can't you accept it? can't you see our condition, Kevin we need a stable earning"

Since it's a week of visiting The Robinsons and nowadays this is a quite regular routine of them to argue on that 'JOB' topic. Kevin have denied that job offer quite evidently but Freya wants him to go for it as they are really suffering in the Money Matter. An unstable grocery store job is not enough to survive in a Big City like with flat rent, sister's study and the household expenses.

Freya thought practically and Kevin thought rationally.

"I understand everything Freya but how can I leave my job just like that, means without any reasons. What will the store owner think of me?" after a long pause Kevin stated in his low voice.

"Kevin!! This can't be an excuse, find something better" replied Freya.

"I'm not giving any excuses" Kevin said with a meek smile while taking Freya into his arms.

"Don't worry baby! Everything will be alright"

"Mrs. Wilson no don't! It's enough" Mark protested hopelessly and tried to cover his plate with both of his hands when Freya tried to serve him with another spoon full of trifle chocolate pudding, her another speciality.

But Freya being Freya, she insists him to have more "No way I'm not listening to any of your excuses I know it's delicious so finish it all"

"Indeed, it's delicious but Mrs. Wilson isn't this is cheating, I already finished it twice and you refilled it again. I'm so full I can't eat anymore"

"I'm already feeling bad Mark that I couldn't make your favourite apple caramel pie I clearly remember how much you liked that dish I made last time, if you have told me earlier about your visit I would have surely cooked that for you"

Actually, the day Kevin called in The Robinsons and accepted Mark's proposal on the very next day Mark suddenly landed upon here on their rented flat to start the procedure personally and as it was already dinner time, so Freya didn't allow him to leave without having food.

Mark was already struggling with the second bowl of pudding when Freya insist him to have more but Kevin come up as Mark's saviour, "Freya, sweetheart if he doesn't want to have more than don't force him okay" He said smilingly.

"Okay fine, You guys finish your desserts I'll go and check on Nini" Freya accepted her defeat and left both the gentleman on the dinner table to call Nini.

As soon as Freya left the hall Mark left out a sigh of relief "Thank you so much for saving me bro! She hasn’t changed a bit" He said putting down the spoon on the empty bowl which made Kevin chuckle.

After sometimes a girl wearing cute baby blue pyjamas with a white tee came running into the hall while yelling at Freya who was coming after her.

"Freya no don't! I don't want to eat anything I'm sleepy so let me sleep"

She has her eyes closed and her tone is extremely sleepy and throaty. She came straight to the dining area and without bothering of the surrounding she sit beside Mark and lean herself on his shoulder, leaving everyone in shock she hugged him and cursed Freya with some harmless words who stopped beside Kevin's chair.

Mark was stoned on his place so he couldn't move or said anything when she snuggled into him and gripped his jacket more tightly. Don't know why but Mark found it cute and smiled unknowingly but before anyone can notice he straightened himself.

Breaking the ice Kevin clear his throat and said "Nini, Baby get up"

But here she didn't even realize that the person she's clinging to is not her Brother. She hid her face in Mark's chest then said "Brother don't okay, just let me sleep"

Where at the other end Mark struggle with his Ragging Breathes, Rushing Hormones and Awkward Emotions in the others presence. He looked at everyone helplessly then said "Err!!! Nini!"

But Nini seem in deep sleep so she didn't react and just groan in disturbance.

"You should eat something for dinner you know it's important for your health" Mark looked lost watching her cuteness and said while tucking the hair strand behind her ear which was falling over her face.

"And who the hell are you to tell me what should I do and don't" Nini got irritated by continuous disturbance and now Mark's unfamiliar touch forced her to open her eyes, she couldn't complete the sentence as her voice died on her throat when she found herself in the café goon’ arms. She shot a horrified look toward her Brother and Freya and then again looked at Mark who was already starring at her with wide eyes.

She gasps audibly and detach herself from him then awkwardly sat straight, she was about to get up when Kevin cleared his throat and Introduced them to each other officially.

"Nini meet MARK, Mark Robinson my new boss and Mark she's my Little Sister NANCY"
