"Hello! Am I talking to Mr. Kevin Wilson?"
"No!! You're talking to Mrs. Kevin Wilson"
"Oh! Good morning Mam, I'm Andy Clark calling from The Robinson Industries, on behalf of the CEO Mr. Mark Robinson. I am asked to inform Mr. Kevin Wilson that we have a job offer for him with the starting salary of 5 thousand dollars"
"WHAT!! I never knew that Kevin have applied for any corporate job?"
"No Mam! It's our company who is offering this job to him."
"And why is THAT?"
"Sorry Mam!! I don't know much about it but I'm just asked to inform Mr. Kevin Wilson that our boss Mr. Mark Robinson is personally inviting him to join our company."
"Ohh-kay!! Can you just wait until I call him?”
"Sure Mam!"
She immediately ran upstairs and almost fell over the bed where a person was snoring in deep sleep.
"Kevin!! hey Kevin wake up! Kevin wake up, I said wake up NOW" she called him nicely and tried to wake him up but it seemed to her that he's in a really deep sleep so she shouted shook him.
"What's so urgent Freya? Why are you shouting?" he moved on her side and asked in annoyance while removing the comforter from his face.
She sat beside him and said with joy, "There's a call for you downstairs from a multinational company and some Mark Robinson is offering you a 25 THOUSAND DOLLAR'S job"
And just after she finished he burst out into historic laughter and sat straight removing the comforter on the bed resting his head on bed post.
"Didn't you get something sensible to wake me up? It must be a fraud call Freya" He tilt his head a little and asked her between his laugh.
She stood up and said folding her arms around her chest "I don't know that but there's a call for you downstairs TRUST ME" She said stretching the word 'trust me' because she herself knew that whatever she just said is insane.
"And if there's not, then you're going to pay for that... Trust ME!"
Kevin warned her with a wink while getting up from the bed. He picked up his vest and put it on then came downstairs to receive the call while Freya also followed him.
"Hello!! This is Kevin Wilson speaking" He said casually holding the landline receiver.
Meanwhile on the other side...
"Sir, he's on the line" Andy said and forwarded his cell phone to the person sitting next to him facing his back, Mark Robinson.
Who was tapping his feet on the ground continuously in curiosity, anxiety, anticipation and a little bit of nervousness. He immediately turned around with a wide smile on his face and to took the cell phone from his hand he got up from his chair and walked around the table.
"Thanks Andy!" He thanked him and took the phone from his hand.
"Hey Bro, how are you?" he exclaimed eagerly as soon as he holds the cell phone near his ear.
"Sorry who are you?" Kevin asked in confusion.
"Kevin it's me Mark, remember the autumn midnight from 6 years back, when suddenly a famished lost boy barged into your house and took your wife hostage for food and shelter" Mark said with joy and tried to make him recall that incident he just mentioned.
Kevin stunned at his place when he heard this familiar voice after so many years and It took him back to that night directly when he saw this young man named Mark Robinson for the first time.
That was an autumn evening when Freya came outside of her house with a packet of dinner leftovers, she stood by the roadside and after a while few street dogs came running to her she smiled at them and started to feed them lovingly. Out of nowhere a stranger grabbed her from behind and threatened her not to make a noise, she gets scared to death and requested him to spare her life as she has a family, he nodded and asked her stay quiet. Meanwhile Kevin also came outside to look for his wife only to see her in some stranger's possession.
He freaked out!
That stranger threatened him too and warned him not to come close or he would harm his wife, both the husband and wife stayed quiet and asked him what does he wants, he only asked for a place to hide and food. That stranger was Mark Robinson an accused prisoner of murdering a local goon and a jail-breaker who was on the run from the police to escape his 5 years of punishment in the jail.
All the entire past experiences flashed in front of Kevin's eyes as it was yesterday, he stayed quiet for a while not knowing how to react when Mark himself said from the other side, "I can totally understand if you don't remember me?”
“Are you kidding me man, who can forget that stranger who changed our lives. It’s just you always come unexpectedly that’s all” Kevin replied with a good smile.
Mark laughed and recall all the past moments with the Wilson family then before disconnecting the call he again reminded him about his job offer in his company and request him to visit New York in the next week.
He disconnected the call and hand over the phone to Andy then asked him to leave him alone. Few moments later he closed his eyes and lean back on his chair,
Nancy!
That's all he could see and think about since he met her in California, "I want you to be mine Nancy! As soon as possible" He exhaled those words before closing his eyes.
