“What?”

“I said no! I will not let you become a rogue again. I will not!”

Tania snorted, folded her hand around her chest, and looked at her mother condescendingly, “So what do you plan to do then, Mom? Tie me up and deliver me to the new pack yourself?”

“If I have to,” Gina replied with determination and Tania couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

“You’re kidding right?”

“I am not!” Gina sighed, trying to calm her temper, “Tania please, listen to me for once, I know you hate me, I wouldn’t stop you from hating me…”

“You can’t stop me from feeling however I wish to feel, neither can you stop me from going wherever I want to go, Mom. The Alpha gave me two choices, one was to be an alliance mate or become a Rogue. I chose the latter. Do you want to go against your precious pack for me?”

Gina opened her mouth to speak but Tania immediately interrupted her, “No need to reply to that. Even if you want to, I will not appreciate it. The days when I needed you or your approval are long gone, Mom.”

Gina felt her heartbreak at those words as Tania gave her a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

“Yes, I know I have no right. I understand what our relationship is now, but please, I lost your father in the wild. I may seem selfish and hateful to you, but I can’t afford to lose you too. You’re all we have left.”

“We? There is no longer a ‘we’ Mom, Dad is gone and you have a new family now. As for me, I am just a nuisance, so don’t bother about me. Forget you ever had a daughter and live your life happily with your precious mate.”

When Gina heard this, her tears couldn’t help but fall, “Can’t you do this for me just one more time? Can’t you try to obey me this once?”

Tania frowned unhappily, “Don’t you think you are being too selfish Beta Gina.”

Gina’s eyes widened in shock. Tania called her by her name, does it mean…

“Do you not realize what I am being asked to do? I am being sent to be an alliance mate. Your precious Kaila is with her true mate, you are with your true mate and I get to be the one sent to be an alliance mate! Wow!! What a loving mother you are.” Tania mocked as tears stung her eyes but she prevented it from falling, even Gina was stunned at her words.

She had indeed never thought of it, her daughter mated to another Alpha meant she could never have a chance to meet or be with her true mate. All she thought of was the reputation of the Wild Willows pack and the fact that her daughter was going to be mated to an Alpha. She had totally forgotten about true mates and the bond they shared.

Her daughter, born a rogue, had always been keen on the strength of a male wolf, as this was crucial to survival in the wild. Even now that they were no longer in the wild, she never let go of that belief and always looked down on weaker males.

Wild Willows pack was known for their strength and their strong Alpha. This matched her daughter’s desires, so she felt it was a good thing, she never for once imagined that her cold-hearted daughter longed to meet her true mate.

But it was too late now, the Alpha had decided to expel her from the pack for good. The only choice they had was she going to the Wild Willows pack as an alliance mate. Even if he was not her true mate, wasn’t it better than being a rogue?

Gina strengthened her resolve, “Stop acting pitiful. Haven’t you always looked down on weaker males? The Wild Willows pack is filled with strong men, you will surely find someone stronger than you there. By the way, you and I know that no one can force you into mating if you do not want to. This has nothing to do with being a mate. I don’t just want you to be a rogue, can’t you see? I am doing my best for you as a mother!”

“My mother died the moment we stepped our foot into this pack, as for you, I have no idea who you are,” Tania replied, stunning Gina. “Please leave Beta Gina.”

“I don’t care what you think of me, I hope you rethink this. I can’t have you become a rogue.” Gina told her.

“Please, leave!” Tania said again.

Gina quickly headed for the door, her hand resting on the knob, she stopped, “You have to know, I’ve always only wanted what’s best for you.”

“No, you have only always wanted what is best for your mate’s name and my presence in this pack does not include it. Stop being a hypocrite Mom, get out!”

Gina walked out of the door and shut it being her. Tania sighed and sat on the bed, frustrated, she angrily pushed the suitcase off the bed and it fell, overturning all the things inside it. The sight of it made Tania even more irritated.

She lay on the bed ignoring it and stared at the plain white ceiling for a long time silently lost in thought.

“Well, maybe I could give the pack a try.” She mumbled before changing her position. Laying on her side, she slept off before she knew it.

Tania woke up two hours before dinner time, feeling restless and unhappy, she got up. She wanted to leave this stupid pack before the end of the day, and with that thought in mind, she lifted her suitcase and began to reorganize her luggage, this time neatly, as she took down the clothes she had once decided to abandon.

No matter how mad she was at her mother, she would admit, she was right about one thing, no one could force her to mate with a pack Alpha that she wasn’t interested in. And since she was going to a new pack, she had to go there with all her things, try it out for a month, if she was not satisfied, she would go back to being a rogue. She was born one after all.

As for her mother, she would never see her again and nothing could stop her from leaving that pack, so she might as well do what she wanted there. It wouldn’t hurt anyone.

By the way, she did hear that the Wild Willows pack was a very strong one with one of the strongest Alpha, she wasn’t sure she would be able to become a rogue comfortably if she didn’t check out this man’s so-called strength before she abandoned pack life.

She finished up her packing with that thought in mind, looked at the five big luggage she had ended up with, and sighed before she began to pull them downstairs and into her off-road jeep one after the other, ignoring the family of three who were setting the table, preparing for dinner.

They stared at her for a moment when they saw her moving her things, stunned.

“You’re leaving now?” Gina asked with confusion as she approached her, every single one of them had come home to attend this dinner with the hope that they could have one last meal with her before she left. After all, who knew when next they would meet but she packed her things and was leaving, ignoring them?

“But the Alpha gave you till tomorrow morning Tania, you can leave tomorrow.” Kaila also spoke as she walked forward.

Tania totally ignored them as she moved the first luggage out of the house successfully. When she turned, Gina stood in her way with her arms akimbo, preventing her from going upstairs.

“Tania please, let’s have dinner together as a family. Then you can leave tomorrow, please.”

“Get out of my way Mom.”

“Tania, show your Mom some respect!” Gina’s mate and Kaila’s father, Beta Jason could not help but get annoyed as he came to stand in front of Gina.

For a moment he felt relieved that it was not his child misbehaving like this, if not, he couldn’t help but wonder what he would do about her.

“Respect? What other respect does a rogue need to have?” She threw at Jason, even though she knew that she was not going to become a rogue yet, they didn’t know that. So she saw no reason why she shouldn’t torment them with that.

“Rogue? Tania, are you choosing to become a rogue?” Kaila asked with surprise, even Jason was surprised but this time Gina couldn’t hold back her tears, she began to weep.

“Tania, stop being so impulsive, you are twenty-two, way past the rebellious puberty age, can’t you even show your mother a little bit of mercy? You know how hard life was in the wild for her, how can you be willing to go back there and let her worry.” Jason scolded her in distress when he saw his mate cry.

Tania was a little surprised, this was the first time that Jason took the initiative to scold her, but it was funny. Maybe if he had spoken up all those years ago when she was confused on how to survive in this pack, maybe she would have respected him a little.

“Beta Jason, stop pretending as if you care about me. What decision I make is none of your business.”

With that, she packed her belongings down the stairs and into her car, under the unhappy gaze of Kaila and Jason who were hugging and consoling her crying mother, she got into the car and drove out of the parking lot.

As her car left the street, she glanced at the rearview mirror and saw her mother standing alone in the driveway watching her leave. For some reason she felt emotional, but still, she pursed her lips looking away coldly.

Tania’s car soon stopped on a lonely road, she sat in the darkness of the car parked by the side of the road and stared at the pack school which was also shrouded in darkness. She had promised that cowardly Alpha that she would present him with a gift before leaving, this was it.

She got out of the car, opened the trunk, grabbed a cask, shut the trunk, and approached the school hugged by the darkness. She disappeared for about forty minutes and soon a small light was lit in a classroom in the building.

By the time she got to the car, the fire had spread and the entire school was on fire, she looked at the burning school which was a bright light in the pitch-black night, and smiled.

She had always wanted to do this, that school had been an eye sore to her since she arrived at the pack, it’s thanks to the Alpha that she finally had an opportunity to destroy it before she left the pack. She just hoped he liked the gift.

She felt happy as she reignited the car and sped off, leaving the pack behind for good.

.....

“Alpha, Alpha!”

Alpha Henry was woken up by the heavy knocking on the door and the intense tugging of his pack link.

“What is wrong?!” He shouted in an irritated voice as he got off his bed without even putting on a shirt and opened the door violently, almost unhinging the door in the process.

“Fire! Fire!” The young warrior told him hurriedly with a pale face.

“What? Fire?! Fire, where? Here?!”

Alpha Henry panicked as he looked past the warrior out the window at the bright light outside the window on the corridor. “What is the cause?” He asked as he approached the window hurriedly and looked out to see….

“The school?”

“Yes Alpha, we do not know the cause either, the school is being razed to the ground.”

“Have you checked for rogues?!”

“Yes Alpha, we checked, it is not a rogue attack. Everyone is helping to put the fire out but it’s only getting bigger. It is estimated that the school would be damaged beyond repair.”

Alpha Henry gritted his teeth and punched the wall in anger, didn’t that mean they had to spend money to build a new school?

Wait a minute, didn’t that bitch promise to deal with him? He had thought she would attack him so he had himself surrounded by the pack warriors, could it be she… she had attacked the one place with no security at all.

He opened his pack link in anger, “Find me Tania this minute and bring her here at once.” He roared at the leader of the warriors as he stared at the blazing light of the school in the dark night.

The school was a little far away from the residential areas of the pack, so they did not have to worry about the fire spreading, but that also meant that it took them a while to notice the fire.

He link tugged again and he opened it to hear the most annoying news, “Alpha, Tania left the pack an hour ago.”

“What? And no one noticed anything?”

“That bitch!” He growled and punched the wall in anger again. “Fine!”

He opened the pack link again and announced, “From now on Tania is an enemy to the pack, if sighted anywhere near the premises of this pack she would be killed on the spot. Anyone who dares to cover or protect her would be deemed an accomplice and banished from the pack!”

“Yes, Miss Tania.”Connor replied with humility which surprised everyone except Justin, who already knew why, and Tania, who didn’t really mind.Justin finally understood why Connor had no comment about Tania, after all, who was he to judge or give an opinion concerning his true Luna? He looked at the woman who had her eyes on Cod now, thoroughly scrutinizing him, and sighed. He could guess what she was thinking, she probably thought Cod was the Alpha and that was why she ignored him, even though that made him unhappy, he couldn’t help but wonder how she would take it when she knew it was him.As for the other three, they were busy wondering when Connor became so obedient, especially Aubrey who had never been liked by Connor. “You shouldn’t have bothered trying to get an alliance mate when you already had a woman warming your bed,” Tania said with an ugly smile on her face as she stared at Justin.“There’s no such relationship between us.” Justin defended as he walked to the nearest seat and sat down, probably to show her that he could walk on his own but Tania scoffed in anger, she obviously didn’t believe him neither did she care for his seemingly little achievement. It was hard to understand, was it that the goddess had a sense of humor or Justin was just too pitiful? He was mated to a woman who despised him at first sight. It was too painful. Connor thought and sighed.“Why don’t I take you to your room Miss Tania?” Connor chirped in, wanting to solve the tension in the air.“There’s no need for that. But with her determination and strong will, if she could be won over by the Alpha, she would be his strongest support in the pack. Don’t go around thinking Wild Willows was some peaceful pack with peace-loving people. The whole pack was split into two factions, those who were loyal to Justin to the bones and those who now saw Cod as their new Alpha believing Justin’s era was gone.In the first three years, Justin’s faction was so strong that they made sure he still sat on the seat of Alpha despite his lack of interest but after so long, with Justin, who was ignorant of all the underground activities of the pack, unknowingly allocating more power to Cod, Cod had won over more than half of the those still loyal to Justin. The reason why Cod had not been crowned Alpha was bec
