Chapter - 43

I watched silently, tears streaming down my face as the small room I had called home burnt to ashes right in front of me. But it wasn't the site of the burning room which was making me cry, no. It was the sight of Miss Lillian and Raymond crying like anything right in front of it that was making my heart feel like it was being ripped out of my chest slowly and painfully.

They thought that I had died.

They couldn't see me because of a magical spell Alpha Evan had put on me but I could see and hear everything just fine.

It was late at night when I finally made it to my room, exhausted to the bone after the day's work when I noticed Alpha Evan sitting on my bed as if he owned the place. For a moment, I'd thought that my tired mind was playing tricks on me. Because he had already left, hadn't he? How could he be there?

But even after I blinked several times and rubbed at my eyes to clear them, he was still there, looking amused as ever as he stared at me.
